Grunts moved on patrol, being watched by jackals that would occasional whack a grunt on the head if they weren't in proper formation. A grunt that had just been whacked shook his head in annoyance but scurried to his proper position. Grumbling to himself and glaring at the higher ranking alien, the grunt continued to look around for anything suspicious. The grunt himself found this completely worthless, who could possibly enter the atmosphere undetected, get passed all the crazy beasts that lived in the forests of the planet, get in the structure, and all the way in this place undetected?
He would receive his answer later as an invisible being stayed crouched and weaved her way through the installation quickly. She went undetected and that was fine by her as she quickly moved into the next room before taking shelter. Her invisibility flickered for a moment before going off entirely, to anyone else she looked exactly like SPARTAN 117, her abdomen was slightly smaller and slender, her shoulders were not as broad, but these were little details that no one would really account for. Her dark, Marine green MJOLNER armor was exactly the same as the Master Chief's.
"Cortana, inside the installation," she said in her intercom, her outward speakers were silenced so no sound was heard outside of her helmet.
"Right. You'll have to take the elevator in the center, which means you need to time it right so you ride up with someone...give me a second to get into their radio frequencies...yes, mhmm...okay. I'll target the Elite that's taking the elevator, you'll only have 15 seconds! Hurry!" Cortana barely had to finish before she reactivated her invisibility and moved with careful, silent steps. She saw the Elite that was moving at a deliberate pace to the elevator. She moved quickly to catch up with him. He entered the elevator, she slowed her steps so she wouldn't slam into him or making a loud noise as she squeezed into the elevator and pressed herself against the wall.
Once the Elite had arrived to the needed floor, the SPARTAN got off the elevator and followed Cortona's directions to the intel room. She arrived and looked around, there wasn't anyone in the room, which wasn't much of a surprise. The place held valuable information, but it was deep in Covenant space so the security was very limited.
"Alright, Bridgett. Do your thing," Cortana said. Bridgett's armor flickered before revealing herself. She moved silently, almost as though she were a ghost as she plugged in a chip. The covenant technology blinked on as the chip began to run software and copy everything it needed. This was Bridgett's job...she had been found in the wreckage that was Reach, thought to be dead and left there, only to be found. No one had known about her, it had been a long recovery considering she didn't remember her past. She still didn't though she was read her file to remind her who she was previous to the SPARTAN program. But no memories returned to her, and so she lived and worked a solitary life.
The door behind her opened and there was the familiar "what, what, what" noise Elite's make when startled. The Elite that was in blue armor looked to the emergency button and immediately ran towards it, Bridgett was in an outright spring after him as she tackled him to the ground. The two coming to blows of one another. He cracked her helmet and she had de ja vu of Reach which made her pause in her fight long enough for the Elite to hit the alarm.
"Bridgett! Get out now!"
Bridgett didn't have to be told twice as she got up, snatched the chip and then raced for the door. She attempted to turn on her invisibility, but the Elite that had laughed at her feeble attempt to escape shot her in the back making her armor ring as many alarm bells as it could. She cursed as her invisibility failed but she threw a poison knife behind her, catching the Elite as she entered the elevator. She hadn't taken in the elevator before, it was completely clear...
Covenant watched in surprise at first as the Demon, as they had deemed the Master Chief, floated down to the main floor before Hell broke loose. Grunts screamed in panic, scrambling instead of raising their weapons, while jackals and Elite readied their arms.
"I'm not getting out of here," Bridgett panted, as she started sprinting the moment the elevator doors opened. She definitely didn't fight like the Master Chief, always closing the distance and dodging shots from the enemy only to use speed and strength in hand to hand combat to knock out her opponent, use them as a meat shield, or stab them with a poisoned knife and keep going. What she wasn't expecting either was for the Jackal to snipe her straight between the eyes.
She went backwards, body and head bouncing painfully. Her armor releasing static as it attempted to shield the SPARTAN inside, but was unable to with the beating that she took. An Elite walked up to her, clicking at her. She pushed herself up slightly, not really sure what she was going to do. She didn't have much time to think on it as the Elite brought his weapon back and slammed her broken helmet, knocking her out completely.
"We caught the Demon," the Covenant cheered, unknowing that they hadn't caught the "demon" at all.
