So many things can change over a period of two months- and change they did. Two months ago, the world was bustling with people and it wasn't a fight to survive every single day, but then, something went wrong. The outbreak of the virus spread quicker than anyone could contain it no matter how many military operations were set out and no matter how hard anyone tried. Two months after the first case, the world had literally gone to hell- the dead roamed the earth in seek of eating flesh. Survival was the only thing that even mattered to people anymore and it made them to terribly crazy things that were immortal and inhumane. It was difficult to get through each day but a select few seemed to manage- and in Atlanta, Georgia- there was a farm where a family was riding this thing out and it was the Greene Family Farm.

Not everything had always been sunshine and roses on the farm during the outbreak however with the death of Annette and Shawn taking a toll on everyone. Remaining on the farm was the old man Hershel Greene, his two daughters Maggie and Beth, his farm hand and his wife, Patricia and Otis, and finally Beth's boyfriend Drew Chaney and his sister, Madison. Drew and Madison lost their father a couple years before during a shootout when he was on the job as a police officer. Their mother was taken within the first few days of the outbreak, working at the hospital where one of the first patients in Georgia reanimated and attacked the hospital. Luck had never really been on their side and while they did have other relatives, none were from Georgia. Their parents were originally from Upstate New York and it would be hell to get there, especially with no communication systems. Plus, there was no way Drew would leave Beth behind. Both parties were the same age, sixteen, and have been together for over three years. Their relationship first began in middle school when everyone was in the "just realizing the other gender doesn't have cooties stage" and everyone was getting their first boyfriend and girlfriend. Obviously, about ninety-nine percent of those relationships to form at such a young age wouldn't last, but not with Drew and Beth. It was something special.

They had their ups and downs, hell, they were teenagers- but they also loved each other enough and were mature enough to talk things out if there was a problem and there hardly ever was a problem. Two months into the outbreak and they seem to be closer than ever. If they didn't have each other, who knows what might happen? Beth helped console Drew when his father was killed a few years ago and she helped him when his mother was killed as well. In return, Drew was there to hold Beth tight even when her mother and brother were killed by this disease. Now, Drew seemed to really be the man of the house. The Greene family happily welcomed him in and Beth's father especially liked the young man. He was a good athlete, an even better student, and such a gentleman. Hershel never had to deal with her daughter crying about something Drew did to her or see her upset with him. Drew was already accepted as part of the family because everyone could see that their future together would be long and bright, but nobody saw this coming. With Shawn being gone, Drew usually went out on runs himself. Hershel was too old and he could be better used at the farm to grow crops. Otis was middle-aged but on the heavier side and unable to keep up. Drew was a very speedy young man- having played basketball all his life. Along with being quick, he was tall, in fact over six feet tall already at his early age. With dark brown hair and piercing dark brown eyes, many girls thought he was to die for. However, he never understood how attractive he was and he wasn't a cocky jock. The boy was rather quiet and reserved, hanging out with a few friends rather than a large crowd, but everyone liked him, knowing he had to be the kindest boy at school.

Today was a normal day in the post-apocalyptic life on the farm. Hershel and Otis spent most of the day planting, reaping, and dealing with the crops along with fortifying the fence around the house easier. Patricia and Maggie were usually organizing things around the house, trying to keep everything in tact and keeping count of supplies. The youngest girls, Beth and Madison, were doing miscellaneous things around the house, helping whomever needed it the most. Drew spent nearly the entire day gone on supply runs in town. They managed to find a working radio that the girls were asked to manage in the house in case he needed something. His means of travel happened to be his 2008 Dodge RAM that his mother got him for his sixteenth birthday, a brand new truck at the time. For weapons, he carried a pistol, a hunting rifle, and a hunting knife usually. Never before had he needed to use a gun, all he had to do was take his knife or a crowbar or some other blunt object. He never went too far from the Farm and always tried to make sure that they weren't in any danger.

It was a crisp fall evening and it was nearly dark- around the time Drew should be getting back and just like every single day, he returned on time. After locking up the gate behind him, he drove the pick up truck near the front entrance of the house, slipping out and pulling down the tailgate so he could take the few supplies he found, and take them inside the house.

Two months.

If someone had told Beth Greene two months ago that her mother and half brother would be locked in a barn and reanimated, with their flesh rotting from their skin and a desire to eat her and her family, she wouldn't believe it. Of course, who would? The outbreak had started out of nowhere, first with one case and then ten, twenty, a hundred. Before anyone had a chance to really think about it, cities were falling apart and more and more people were reviving after death. One day she was at school and the next she was being told that the government had been trying to hide an "isolated case" of post-death revival with rabies-like symptoms and mindlessness combined with necrosis of all tissues. The only way to stop them was to injure the brain. Maybe if they'd said something about it quicker, the disease could have been wiped out before it took control, but that wasn't the case. It felt like just the next day her boyfriend was telling her that his mother had been caught in chaos at the hospital. The disease had struck Georgia.

She would never graduate from high school. She'd never have a wedding. She'd never have kids. (She could, but she couldn't think of anything more selfish and life-risking given the way that the dead ones responded to noise.)

Two months.

Here she was. Her father and Otis were on the fields, managing fences. The girls managed the house. Drew, Beth's boyfriend of three years and long-time friend, hunted and did runs to the nearest town, now on his own since Shawn had passed. Nothing was more worrisome to Beth, who was helping Maggie cook up dinner when she heard the sound of a truck pulling on to the farm. The sisters shared a look and Maggie gave her a nod, and within minutes Beth was running to the front door. She had the door open for Drew when he reached it, and once again she was able to feel calm. There was a lot of stress associated with him always going out on his own - she never doubted that he was capable, but that didn't change that one of these days there was the chance that he may not come home to her.

Today was not that day.

A smile lit up the blonde's face, a toothy grin that said more than words could ever say. They may have been young, but that meant nothing - she'd found his love and thirteen and held on to it still. Every single day was a fight for their lives, and every single day she wrapped her arms around him and prayed to a God she was starting to lose belief in that he would return again the next day. He was crucial to their makeshift family's well being - Drew and Madison as well as Patricia and Otis were just as much in this family as Beth, Maggie and Hershel were at this point.

"You're back." Her words came in a whisper, and if she spoke any quieter he wouldn't have been able to hear her. She helped bring things inside of the farm house and then glanced to the kitchen, where Maggie had finished getting their dinner together. Just in time, she thought, and she zipped out the door and leaned over the railing, supporting herself with her hands on the wooden beam. She called to her father and friend for food, and then turned to Drew once again.

"Did things go okay?" She stepped towards him and her hands rested on the sides of his abdomen. Her thumbs rested just above his hip bones, and she gazed up at him. He stood over half a foot taller than her but that didn't stop her from arching on to her tip-toes to give him a light kiss.

From sun up until sun down, Drew had been working his hardest to keep everyone alive at the farm. Despite the incredible amount of hours he'd spent out looking and gathering supplies, he returned with meager resources. However, with what they could grow at the farm along with any pre-apocalypse resources, they were making it. Drew knew that no one else really understood just how bad things were out there because no one else really went out there with him into the dangerous parts of the city. It's why he tried to convince Hershel that keeping these walking flesh-eaters in the barn was definitely not a good idea. There was nothing to be done, but Hershel nor anyone else on that farm seemed to see his way. Not being one for conflict, Drew simply kept quiet after bringing it up politely a couple of times and he was looking that way now before letting out a shaky breath and starting to carry things inside. All of what he found ended up being a couple packs of bottled water, a few canned foods, and some miscellaneous tools and material- nothing that could help them immediately but could help in the future or work as a replacement for something that they don't have.

Despite how stressful his day was and despite how awful the entire world was, seeing that smiling blonde girl made him forever grateful. The couple was definitely a lucky couple to have found each other at such an incredibly early age and to only grow from there. She really had him head over heels even before the outbreak and while Drew was a nice guy and didn't want to hurt anyone, if someone tried to hurt Beth, as one could imagine, they probably wouldn't be living past the day. Beth was his entire world and he wanted to keep her innocent and unknowing of the reality of things. While it was foolish to think that this farm paradise would last forever, he wished it could and Beth never had to see something sadder than she already saw. Hershel patted the boy on the shoulder and thanked him, letting him know it was time to eat. Now turning his attention to Beth, Drew smiled and lightly touched his lips back against hers, his hands reaching down and taking them, giving them a squeeze.

"Things went just like they always do. I only got a few things, as you saw, but I didn't run into any trouble so that was good. I tell you what, how about I go bring our plates out here and we can eat on the front porch."

This was something they did even before the outbreak began. Drew did love the outdoors and the farm scenery was so amazing. Now, it was something they did even more, not just for scenery purposes, but because the dining room was overcrowded. With that in mind, he walked inside, grabbing both of their plates and two bottles of water. The plates consisted of chicken, eggs, a few different vegetables and potatoes. They were still eating like nothing was going on because they could afford to do so an probably could for a while. Once returning to Beth, he gave her warm smile, pulling up the small table in between two chairs they claimed as their own. After sitting, his brown eyes traveled over to hers for a few moments before eating.

"You are so beautiful, you know that?"

It was just a random compliment that he dearly loved to tell her from time to time. It never hurt to make her smile or feel good about herself. Then, he leaned over and pressed a gentle kiss onto her cheek, sighing contently and turning to dig into his food. Now, his thoughts were wandering to a more... adult feature. He had a special feeling about tonight- about what they might do. Something they had talked about for a while now was making love. They might be sixteen but the way they aged over the past two months, they had to be more than mature enough to handle themselves and this shouldn't be an issue. Plus, they had experimented before but that mainly consisted of Drew just touching her and slowly easing her into bondage- something he really loved- and they both had agreed he could tie her up when they go all the way. It was a much more intriguing thought than this food was right now...

"So, tell me sweetheart, how was your day? Everything good here at the farm?"

Beth nodded, still grinning, as he offered to take their food out to the table. She sat down and waited patiently, in one of the chairs out on the porch, swinging her legs back and forth while seated. She blushed when he complimented her, the redness creeping up her cheeks. She gazed down to her swinging toes and tried to work her way through it.

How was she this awkward about compliments? Even three years in to the relationship, he made her feel like she was being told she was cute for the first time - awkward and nervous. It was in a good way, though. It was what she had imagined a real relationship would always be like - every single day your partner was supposed to make you remember why you got with them in the first place. (For Beth it was moments like these, where he made her feel perfect for no reason beside wanting to.)

She raised her head after twirling her fork through her food. His lips met her cheek and she leaned in to the gentle touch, letting out the slightest little noise as he pulled away.

"You're quite the looker yourself," she flirted back with a smile and then kissed his cheek in return. Her lips were soft thanks to a tube of lip chap that had recently been brought back on a run, and she leaned her shoulder in to his as she broke the contact. How could she be this fluttery and think she's ready for sex? He made her feel like the nervous little thirteen year old that she was when they first got together, and he did that regularly.

But she was not, and she determined to act like a mature woman in this situation. They had been working towards this for a while, and she was sure that she was ready. They might not have been ready a few months ago, but they had both done a lot of growing up in the last few months. He wanted to tie her up when they finally do, too - that thought had, frankly, scared her at first. There had been a lot of trust between them when she had finally consented to that, and it was still a bit worrying. She was okay with that, though - what good was life if it didn't have new experiences, after all?

Her back straightened and she took another bite of her food as she mulled over her answer to his question.

"It's been another quiet day here." Nothing new - the farm was virtually untouched, minus a few stray incidents. They'd been lucky so far, minus those incidents, and Beth was gracious for that. "Daddy things that the peas will be ready soon, and the corn's growing well. No walkers showed up while you were gone, but I think Otis found one when he went out hunting earlier. Wasn't paying too much mind to it, honestly."

If the farm had a quiet day, then the farm had a good day. The amount of incidents here at the Greene Family Farm were quite minimal and they were lucky. It was a decent cause to show graciousness because Drew really had seen how ugly this was. No matter how badly everyone else here seemed to think this would pass over, that some miracle would spark and things would magically disappear, Drew knew better than to believe that and no matter how hard he pushed for them to understand, it was like talking to half a dozen brick walls. They had no idea what could happen if a large herd of these walkers penetrated this farm... there would be no 'rounding them up to put in the barn'... if that's what they wanted to do, then death was certain but Drew refused to let that happen now. Now, this was all he had left in the world and anyone that tried to separate them - alive or dead - would feel his wrath with no mercy whatsoever. In the present moment, however, his thoughts weren't so rash and deadly... they were of love and adoration for this girl beside of him.

"That's good, maybe I can help when the peas and corn are finished."

It really made him happy that Beth didn't pay attention to the walker because, again, even if he thought everyone should know the dangers of this world, he wanted to keep Beth away from it, to protect her innocence. The sights of these things and what they do wasn't happy at all and Beth didn't need to see it. She was easily the most important person to him in the world for the last few years of his life and now that feeling is heightened even more. For the remainder of Drew's meal, the boy kept rather quiet other than a few words to Beth while giving her gentle touches here and there. After a long day, she really made him feel amazing. Once the couple both cleaned their plates, Drew happily carried them inside and assisted his sister in cleaning and washing them. Even with being taller and stronger than Madison, she still teased him all the time since he was still her little brother and the only family she had left. After the dishes were cleaned, he bid his sister goodbye as she ran off to find Maggie.

The rest of the night would be rather simple and relaxing since Drew and Beth got into this routine. After dinner, he would walk upstairs to her room after showering and just talk and cuddle with her. Hershel trusted him so Drew was allowed to sleep in the bed with Beth since they didn't really have enough room for everyone and Beth always seemed to feel better with him. So, he grabbed his pajamas and showered quickly, then, he was walking right on over to Beth's room. Knocking, he grinned to himself and tilted his head, running his hand through his wet hair.

"I'm coming in!" He called, pushing the door open
