Alexander King is bored of life. That’s not to say he doesn’t enjoy it, or is depressed or anything like that. It just means he finds it all so boring. The man’s family is so rich that he’s never wanted for anything in his entire life. Thanks to being the heir to the family fortune, his life was set the moment he was born. With all that, he never saw much point to particularly push himself. His report cards had been filled with B’s and C’s, the occasional A popping up every now and then. He was never the fastest or strongest kid in gym class, but always managed to stay with the group. In short if not for his wealth, he would be completely mediocre in everything.

Now in his mid twenties, Alex has his own place. He got his degree in business to keep his dad appeased. He shows up at the office and does the work assigned to him, all so that he can just keep his head down. The heir has never seen a reason to revel or act out. He just does enough to get by and keep his parents happy enough that his inheritance won’t be in danger. Even his relationships never seemed to get the guy’s full attention. Being attractive, rich, and having a laid back sense of humor made it easy for him to get almost any girl he wanted without any effort. Keeping them was a different story. No one wants to be with someone who finds them boring, after all.

Really, the only person in the world who seems to get Alex to give more than fifty percent is his sister Harley. His feisty sibling was the heir’s whole world and he would do anything to keep her safe and happy. The only times Alex has ever gotten into trouble were when Harley was involved. At least their parents didn’t seem to mind his protectiveness over his sister, even if his mom did mention multiple times how she wished he’d put that sort of passion and energy into other things.

As it is, the reason Alex is out on this night is because he’s supposed to meet up with his little sister. With the weather being as nice as it is, he decides to walk to the restaurant they agreed on. His plans for dinner are cut abruptly short though as several men jump out of a car and start to chase him. Alex yells out and tries fighting them off, now seriously regretting not listening when his dad had suggested hiring some form of security detail. The heir had considered it a waste of money and figured it would stifle him. As he’s dragged away, all he can think about is if Harley is safe.

Harley had just gotten out of high school when her older brother accepted to house her for some time. Unlike her brother, she did not find life uninteresting. She just wanted to have some break from having studied her whole life. He knew that her parents were surely not happy with her sudden choice, but she had never been quite fond of her parents after all. Her whole life she had paid attention to Alex and only Alex. He had been the only person whom she had told her secrets and even asked for advice. Their bound was much, much deeper than of sibbling or best friends.

Her attitude had always been quite rude and disgusting towards people who were not her brother. She was usually egocentric, selfish and bullied just about anyone indiscriminately. Having been the "Cheerleader Group" leader for most of the high school gave a quite high status among other status, and she used such popularity to get away with whatever she wanted. While she was not in top-notch physical condition unlike her fellow cheerleader, she compensated meaty legs and hips with a witty behaviour that got pretty much everywhere she wanted to.

Harley was walking down the streets wearing a pair of denim short, red sneakers, a green tee that barely covered her belly and black/red jacket that she had permanently borrowed from one of her ex-boyfriends. That night she was going to meet up with her brother to catch and probably discuss how she was going to move in with him. She was actually quite excited about living with him once again. They were never able to get the privacy they both wanted when living in their parents' place.

However, as she was close to getting to the meeting place, a strange hooded man started following her. His faces obscured by the hood, and only his eerily-lit, yellow eyes could be seen. The whole scene was unsettling, so she decided to walk faster towards her destination. Then, all of a sudden, an arm held her around her waist and a hand covered her mouth to prevent her from screaming. Without being able to fight back, Harley was dragged to a nearby alley by her unknown assailant.

Whoever had grabbed Alex was going to be in for a world of hurt, he decides. Not only had they ruined the expensive suit that he’d only just gotten, not only were they trying to kidnap him to likely get a ransom from his dad, but now Harley would be worried sick about him. That idea alone is what keeps the man fighting so hard against his assailants, the fact that his little sister would be left wondering what happened and where he is. “Let me go, you pieces of shit!” He yells out, even clawing at one of the men and trying to bite them.

Nothing he tries seems to do any good against the attackers though. Not only do they manage to hold him tight, but they don’t even seem to flinch when hit. Whoever these guys are, they’re clearly professionals. Dammit, they might be part of some mob or something, Alex thinks to himself. Maybe some business partner that his dad pissed off hired them for revenge. Whatever the reason for them being sent is, he really doesn’t want to find out. “Look, you can take my wallet, okay? I can even stop by the ATM, give you however much you want. Just please let me go. I promise not to call the cops.”

Not only do the men ignore his offers, but they don’t seem interested in Alex’s money at all. He figured they’d take his phone, watch, and the ring on his finger, but they don’t touch any of valuables. It’s like they just don’t care, but then why bother taking him at all? “Oh god no…” Alex mutters and struggles even harder as he starts to think of what a group of men might want to do with him. He can only hope he’s wrong. Alex may be attractive, and have received unwanted attention in the past, but this would be a whole new level that he really didn’t want any part of.

Alex really isn’t sure what to think as he’s thrown into the trunk of a car before it starts to drive full speed down the road. The heir tries to figure out what direction it’s going in, but his curiosity is only piqued when he hears the sound of gravel and breaking twigs, meaning they’re likely driving down into the forest. When he’s finally let out, Alex is grabbed again and finds himself being dragged into a large mansion that’s even more impressive than his family’s home. “Just where the hell are you taking me?” He asks, but gets no answer as he’s pulled inside against his will.

Harley's heart was starting to beat fast as the 'man', or so she thought the thing was at least human, dragged her into a dark alley. She could already feel something behind her rear, and she was afraid that the shadowy figure would try to do something terrible to her. Not even one had she thought that she would be raped by a degenerate, but one way or another she had learned that bad things would often happen to 'good' people...though she was not necessarily the nicest girl in the world. The one thing that truly worried Harley was her brother. He would surely be terrified when she failed to show up.

As they stopped in the middle of the dark alleyway, Harley noticed that no hands were holding her anymore. She was free to run, but she knew it was a trap. A pair of yellow, cat-like eyes stared at her, as if preventing her escape to the nearby streets. Her legs were paralyzed. She was truly immobilized by fear. She was scared the creature would do some harm to her. Her jaw trembled as she opened her mouth to speak. "Who...Who are you? What do you want?" she muttered shyly.

Of course, the unknown assailant failed to reply. He was not interested in getting to know the brat, or even socialize with her. He just there to catch his meal and get out, an easy job. Slowly, the footsteps got closer to her and she could hear how the beast was approaching her. She slowly backed from the 'man' and turned her head in the opposite direction. The alley divided into more corridors, offering her a way to confuse the aggressor. Without thinking about it twice, she landed a devastating blow in the crotch of the 'man' and took off in the opposite way, meshing with the darkness and losing the yellow eyes from her sight.

The half-man, half-wolf hybrid did not even flinch to the kick she tried to land on his testicles. Given that he was a werewolf, his eyesight was not much necessary to keep track of his prey. Instead, his nose would do all the job. Not even a second later, the assailant was on all four pursuing her from behind. A loud scream of panic came out from Harley's mouth as she was, once again, cornered by the beast. "What do you want from me!?" she yelled at him, not even hoping that the beast would respond. She was on the edge of collapsing, and the fiery, cold claws that landed on her cheek almost made her faint.

Alex is dumped in the main hall of the mansion. As he turns around to swing a punch at his kidnappers, he finds that they’re already gone. “WHAT IN THE FUCKING HELL?!” The man yells out in sheer frustration before making a mad dash for the door. Of course if it had opened, then that would imply some actual luck on his part. It’s not even like the door is locked, he simply can’t get it to move. Kicking it hard in frustration, he runs to the windows next. All the curtains are drawn closed, and when pulled aside, reveal that they cover thick tinted glass that prove too strong for Alex to break. Letting out another curse and with nowhere else to go, he runs deeper into the mansion.

Little does the heir know that this was the plan. Apparently whoever had captured him enjoyed the thrill of the hunt. “My, you’re an energetic one. I should have chosen you long ago.” A voice says from the shadows. Okay, now Alex knows he’s dreaming. No one would ever describe him as energetic save for maybe Harley. Then again, the will to get out of here is actually driving the man to put in some actual effort. He looks around and finds where the sound was coming from, some intercom on the wall.

Pushing his middle finger hard on the button, he snaps into the machine. “So what the fuck is all this? Are you going for some bullshit most dangerous game thing here? Are you after money? Desperate for some cute fucktoy? Just what the hell is going on?!” His only answer is a cackling laugh at first, leaving Alex so frustrated that he punches the intercom. “Fuck you.” He shouts, shaking the pain from his hand.

“I assure you, it’s not anything so uncouth. It is you we want. Well rather, your wealth. We don’t simply want your ransom though. Your family has so many powerful connections and valuable resources that we simply must get out hands on. Don’t worry though, you will be well compensated. You could say that what we have to offer is to… die for!” The cackle that follows sends a shiver down Alex’s spine and he immediately breaks into another sprint.

Digging his cell phone out, he calls the first number in his recents list. Pretty much the only number Alex ever calls, really. To his shock and horror though, Harley doesn’t answer. She always answers when he calls. They’d both gotten in trouble in class because they’d answer their phones for each other. “You fucking bastard, what did you do to her?!” He asks, charging back towards the intercom. No, he doesn’t stop there. Going even further in, Alex sets out to find this psycho and find his sister.

Locked doors keep barring his passage, or rather, Alex realizes as he goes down a long corridor, they’re guiding him, leading him wherever the asshole wants Alex to go. Fine, as long as it brings him face to face with the piece of shit, he doesn’t care. Sure enough, he ends up in one large room at the far end of a dark hallway. Too angry to be afraid at this point, he throws the door open. “What the fucking hell?” He asks as he finds himself face to face with a coffin.

“I told you it was to die for.” A voice behind him says. Before Alex can even yell, the vampire’s fangs sink deep into his neck. His mouth hangs open, the young man completely paralyzed as his blood is drained. Then suddenly he feels it, something new coursing through his veins. Scents invade his nostrils, his eyesight feels sharper as it adjusts to the night. His whole body feels stronger and faster than it did before. The vampire stands up straight and begins to talk to Alex. “Now then, perh-” With his control back, the heir doesn’t even let the sentence finish. He pushes the monster away so hard that the wall gets dented. Without even thinking, he runs to the window and jumps through it, breaking the glass easily. Alex doesn’t notice that he’s completely uninjured when he hits the ground, or how fast he’s running back towards the city. All he cares about is finding Harley and making sure she’s safe.

The beast caressed Harley's cheeks lovingly, as if savouring her fear. A faint noise could be heard from afar. It instantly reminded her that she had dropped her phone as she ran away from the attacker. "Please...let me go...I can give you whatever you want...just please don't kill me..." Her voice came out with obvious fear. She was about to faint, but as much as she wanted to, she could not. She wished to pass out and just let the beast have her way with her, that way she would not be able to feel the pain. She knew that it was one hell of a cowardly thought, but she was desperate and did not know what to do.

All of a sudden, she felt a large tongue licking her cheeks all the way down to her neck. The smell was animal-like, which meant that the attacker was some sort of antropomorphic creature. Maybe he was tasting her so he could maul her to death, but the foreplay was already exhausting her. She was truly nervous and her left leg was shaking uncontrollably. The husky breath of the man-wolf smelled like death, and it almost made Harley want to throw up.

Her right hand fumbled around until she found a dumpster next to her. She stopped short when she touched a pointy and sharp 'thing'. That thing was a shard of glass. Not even thinking twice, Harley grabbed the shard and sunk it into the assailant's neck. Reacting to the pain, the werewolf clawed her arm, leaving a huge and bloody wound as well as tearing her jacket apart. She screamed in pain as blood ran down her arm from the claw-like wounds. The beast winced in pain and fell down to the floor, leaving Harley to run away.

A tingling feeling entered the readhead's body. All of a sudden, everything was clear. She could perfectly see in the dark, and she could smell all the hideous and putrid things in that alley. She had no time to think, or even believe, that the werewolf had actually turned her into one herself. Her deep blue eyes shone yellow as she ran out of the alley and picked her phone on the way out. Her speed was unmatchable, even more than before.

The cold night did not even affect her almost naked chest. She was only a short t-shirt, but for some reason she could not feel any cold. The adrenaline was still rushing through her body, so the only thing she did when she exited the alley was to dial the number of her brother as tears ran down her face. She could not stop crying. Not only from the the tingling pain of her bloody arm, but also due to the whole situation.

If Alex had even been able to stop and think for a moment, he wouldn’t be able to process it all. The sights, the sounds, smells, even the touch and the taste, everything was so much greater now. It’s like all his senses were super enhanced. On top of that, as he ran, even cars wouldn’t be able to keep up, and yet he isn’t running out of breath. He jumps to get over a low fence and sends himself soaring over it before landing on his feet with a soft thud and continuing to run without breaking his pace. It’s the most exhilarating feeling in the world, yet the heir couldn’t even enjoy it because the only thing on his mind is worry over his sister’s safety.

Fortunately, that is something he can start to calm down about as his sister finally calls back. Immediately answering the phone, Alex stops moving in an instant. ‘Harley, where are you, what’s wrong, are you okay?” He can hear her over the other end. There’s something off and different about her as she talks. “Harley, did someone attack you? Look, I’ll be there right away. Just get inside somewhere safe and wait there for me.” After getting the instructions through, Alex lets out a breath he didn’t even know he was holding. “Please, I’ll be there soon, I promise. I’m here for you, always and forever.” He says before hanging up. It was there own little thing. It had started as a way to answer questions (Do you love me? Am I your favorite person?) and eventually just became their own way of telling each other that they love them.

Now that he knows where Harley is, Alex is able to stop for a moment and just relax. That’s when it hits. Whether it’s a delayed reaction to the transformation, or because he no longer had the worry pumping through him, Alex now feels some new sensation. Describing it as a hunger or thirst wouldn’t exactly be accurate. Whatever this is, it’s so much greater than that. It’s a need that feels almost as basic as air itself. A door near him opens and a couple of girls walk out. They’re attractive, and as they look at Alex, they wave and whisper to each other, smiling at him. To the man, they look absolutely… delicious. He could easily nab these ladies, get them back to his place and… drain them of all their blood.

That thought immediately causes Alex to pause. “What the fuck?” He mutters to himself, shaking his head and watching as the girls round the corner. He starts to consider following them before stopping himself. “Harley needs me.” He says out loud before turning and heading in the opposite direction. Whatever the fuck was happening to him, he could deal with later. First and foremost, he had to make sure his sister was completely safe.

Luckily for her, Alex did answer the phone like he always did. That did not stop her tears from flowing or her from crying. "A-Alex..." she cried, "I'm okay, I'm fine...I'm on the block next to the restaurant, by the kiosk. I will explain you when you are here," she continued. She took a deep breath and bit her lower lip. The pain from the open wound was excruciating. She could barely bear it. "I'll wait for you, Alex...Please, hurry..." Her tone was broken as she spoke. Despite how cruel and ill her attitude was, the whole situation showed how physically weak she was and how little she bore pain.

As minutes passed and she saw people walking on the side of the street, a sudden hunger surged from inside her. It was not a peculiar craving. No...it was actually for human flesh. She wanted to ravage through someone's skin and bite the meat out of them. Tear them apart and take the flesh away from the bone. She had never thought that she could feel such thing, such disgusting craving. What was wrong with her? Why was she dying to kill someone? Was it maybe the scratch on her arm? Despite she was overthinking the situation, Harley knew her body pretty well and the sudden thoughts were being produced by something.

Once the light from her phone turned off, the screen turned into a little mirror that reflected her yellow, almost ambar, cat-like eyes. Her eyes opened wide and she blinked several times. Then it clicked. The attacker had turned her into a werewolf with the scratch. She never thought those things actually existed, but there she was. She was not a cat, as a tail had not grown off her. The desire to maul a human body or just something with meat was a feral instinct, so it meant that she was indeed a wolf now. A werewolf. How was she going to explain it to Alex? Or even to her parents! She was going to be an outcast. she was scared that it would hurt her loving relationship her brother, and that would actually make her fall into a deep depression.

Alex starts walking briskly towards the restaurant. He has to close his eyes and grimace. Everything was getting too loud and too bright. It was all smelling so strong and even his skin was starting to feel irritated from everything. Now that he actually had the time to stop and think he was realizing how wrong he felt. Before, everything had been so dull that now it was way too vibrant. His head starts pounding and he has to stop to rub his temples. It takes him a moment to realize someone was talking to him, asking which way N. Jordan St. is. “Just shut up and go away!” He snaps, opening his eyes and staring at the man. To his surprise, the person doesn’t look offended or scared or pissed off. He suddenly has a blank stare, closes his mouth, and walks off.

Did that really just happen? No way the man was just being polite or anything. That’s not how people in the city acted, and the way he looked… no, it’s too crazy to even think about. Even worse, as he stares at the man walking off, Alex’s mouth begins to water. Yelling out so loud that the few people on the street turn to look at him, Alex shakes his head to clear his thoughts again before breaking out into a full sprint once again. Find Harley, he tells himself. Figure that out first and he can worry about everything else later. She comes first. His sister always comes first.

The restaurant is as crowded as Alex expected it to be. That’s never been a worry for him before. When you have enough money, you’ve always got a reservation. Now he’s looking for his sister though and the large group isn’t helping. He has to find her, and the constant sounds and smells are a distraction, not to mention that they just make the urge he’s trying to push away even stronger. He turns to face the street, looking around while calling Harley on her cell. He’ll find her and get them both back to his house. From there, he’ll find some way to explain to her what happened. Alex doesn’t even consider the possibility that he’d feel this urge to feed from his sister. It just seems obvious to him that he wouldn’t. His instinct to protect Harley and keep her safe was greater than the one for even his own survival.

Harley desperately looked for Alex everywhere as the phone started to ring. She finally saw him in the distance, standing on the other side of the street. She did not even answer the phone and quickly ran to his arms, burying her face on his chest. His arms quickly found their way around his back, pulling him into a tight hug. It was both funny and cute to see how Alex towered over her in height. Luckily for her, the wound on her arm had misteriously healed and there was just a scar that did not bother her anymore. Despite that, she did not move her face away from Alex's warm and comfortable chest, and she ocassionally landed a kiss on it. Over the pass few years she had started to develop stronger feelings for her brother, feelings that surpassed those of being bound by blood.

"Alex..." she softly cried as she moved her head away from his chest and looked up at him with her new yellow eyes. Her eyes went wide once again when she realized that her brother was not the same. He looked totally different. His eyes had changed colors and his skin was a lot paler. She was totally confused as to what had happened. She just wanted to go home to talk about it, and she was still shaken by the whole incident. She had never been attacked before, so it was surely something new for her.

"Can we please go home...terrible things happened...please..." Her hand quickly found his and their fingers intertwined. Her hand looked tiny and frail compared to his big one. She buried her face on his chest once again and tightly hugged him, her breasts pressing against his lower torso. When they were young, Harley would sometimes let Alex touch and grope her, meaning that their attraction for each other had started since they were young teens.

Alex can tell something is wrong before his sister even reaches him. He was always more aware of things happening with her than anyone else. The man could tell when she wore her hair differently, when she tried new scents, if she’d just been through a bad breakup (and needed her big bro to set a guy straight), and even when she was feeling conflicted about things. That last one seemed to be happening quite frequently lately, and she wasn’t alone. Alex cares about his sister more than anything in the world, and he knows that his possessiveness and protectiveness of her seemed to go beyond just brotherly affection. He never gave those thoughts much consideration. Harley is his sister. Of course he’d always be worried about her.

That’s why he can tell something is off as she runs to him. She moves faster than she usually does, and yet, her footsteps seem quieter than everyone else’s. Then there’s her scent. Alex can smell his sister’s usual shampoo in her hair (though from further away than he could before) but now there was something else there too. He isn’t quite sure how to place it, but it somehow came off as animalistic, like the smell of nature. He also picks up the unmistakable smell of blood on her. It’s faint, like the wound is already closed, but it is definitely there. Then he’s really worried when Harley actually reaches him and he sees the yellow color in her eyes. He’s completely unaware of the change to his own eyes making them darker, deeper, and more alluring when stared into.

Deciding he can worry about what the hell is going on later, Alex wraps his arms tight around his sister and just holds her like that for a minute. Most of the people walking by likely think the two are a couple embracing. It’s something the heir has gotten used to and doesn’t bother correcting anymore. He didn’t exactly mind, truth be told. “Yeah, come on, let’s go.” He whispers in agreement to his sister’s suggestion of going home. He’s not exactly hungry anymore… well not for food at least. Rather than take a cab, he calls up the personal driver his dad has on staff, giving his location and telling him he needs to be there fast as possible.

Even when the Mercedes Benz pulls up to take them home, Alex still hasn’t taken his arms away from around his sister. He keeps her close to him, enjoying the contact. It seems to calm him, and more than that, well, he can feel her body pressing against his and he doesn’t quite mind, truth be told. When the driver opens the door for them, he keeps holding onto Harley’s hand, getting her inside before following behind and closing the door. As soon as they’re seated, he again has her in his arms and lets his sister rest her head on his chest. “Just take us back to my place.” He tells the driver, brushing his fingers through his sister’s hair as the car pulls away.
