Evan was nervous...for some reason as he waited for his friend to get to his house. He was having a sleepover while his parents were away on a trip. It wasn't as if he was scared, it was just that he didn't want to be by himself and bored. If his friend was here, they could stay up for as long as they wanted and play video games or play on the computer. But the dark haired, fourteen year old didn't understand why he was suddenly nervous. He hung out with his friend all the time, everyday at school. They even had a few classes together. But maybe was because this would be the first time it was just them and no one else. Evan shook his head at himself, for being such a pansy about having his friend stay the night. He had nothing to worry about.
The boy went up stairs to make sure that his room was clean and that everything was put away nicely. His mother all but forced him to clean his room yesterday. He figured his mother was right, that it would be embarrassing to have his friend walk into his dirty room. Glad that he had cleaned it, he made sure that his friend would have pillows and blankets for when they actually fell asleep that night, or early, early morning, depending on the time they hit the hay. He went into the bathroom and made sure that was nice and tidy. Nothing more gross than a dirty bathroom, in Evan's mind. Even worse than a dirty bedroom! He went back downstairs and put some sodas in the freezer so they would get cold faster, he just couldn't forget them. He made sure his mother had bought all the good kinds of snacks before going into the living room and sitting down to wait.
