Four in the morning, a normal night for the almost sleepless Jason McCelroy; a twenty year old college student in the first semester of his Junior year at the large university. An energy drink can in his left hand, the contents about half empty shook gently as his right hand moved back and forth throwing and catching a small blue racquet ball against his wall over an over again. Green eyes stared into a twenty two inch computer monitor with the two thousand ten version of Microsoft word running and three pages of typed text on it. Bringing the energy drink to his lips he tipped it back against his pale lips and took a long drink as he thought to himself. Setting both the drink and the ball down on the desk he wheeled around his chair to pick up a book, “Contemporary Theory in Sociology” one of Jason's many sociology classes for the semester.

His green, lightly puffy from lack of sleep, eyes scanned the words on the pages. Flipping through them he found what he was looking for and brought his fingers to the illuminated blue keys of his Razer keyboard. Typing in about another full paragraph including the citation he started re-reading his paper from word one.

Picking the racquetball back up he absentmindedly started bouncing it against the wall again not worrying about the fact that he was in a coed dorm and it was four in the morning. Standing up he set the ball back on the desk and pulled the over sized black hoodie over his head. Jason was now only wearing a pair of baggy blue jeans and a pair of ankle high sports socks. He was not overly tanned, but he certainly wasn't pale, at least not in the halogen illuminated dorm room that he called his own. Walking in a small circle the five ten, hundred and sixty pound male shook his head unable to think of a way to finish his essay. This however was normal for him. Sighing he shook his head and yawned as he looked at the clock on the bottom corner of his computer screen.

Jason walked over to his mini fridge next to the second closet where he stored his food. Grabbing a package of Ramen Noodles he tossed it on the small table in the room, picked up his electric waster kettle and poured a bottle of water in. Turning it on her put the ramen in and walked back to his computer desk. Brushing a little of his brunette hair from his forehead he sighed and started trying to think until his food was ready.

It was four o'clock in the morning, and the one night that Jennifer Sead could actually get some sleep. She had finished all her work an hour ago, and had been so looking forward to the good night's sleep that awaited her. That was, until she had turned her laptop off and her room became quiet. It was then that she could hear the sound of something constantly banging against the wall her bed rested against. She held her pillow tightly over her ears to try and block out the noise, but it didn't help. The noise was constant and annoying, and even though it wasn't that loud, it sure was pissing the hell out of her.

Then, the sound stopped. She held her breath for what seemed like forever to make sure the sound was really gone. And when it was, she breathed a sigh of relief. She placed the pillow back down on her bed and smoothed it out, gently resting her head on it. Finally, she could get a good nights sleep.

The noise started up again. She should have known. It wasn't the first time the noise had stopped for a moment, just to start it's annoying tapping once more. She couldn't take it anymore. There is no way she was ever going to sleep if she could hear it. Oh, how she wished she had her Ipod with her when she needed it, but it broke earlier that day and she hadn't had the chance yet to call Apple and send it in. That being her only option, she had no choice but to go to the source of the noise itself.

Jennifer threw the covers off her and got out of bed. She was clad in colourful plaid pyjama pants and an oversized white t-shirt, considering the fact that she was trying to sleep. She stepped out of her dorm, not bothering to change or even put her shoes on since she wasn't going far. There was only one place where this noise could be coming from, and that was exactly where she was going. Even though she could no longer her the noise once she got up, she knew it was going to start up again and she just had to take care of it before she went crazy.

She knocked loudly on the door of the dorm room next to her's, and it was obvious she wasn't in a good mood by the way she banged her hand against the door. "Hello?" she called out. She knew whomever the dorm belonged to was awake because of the light shining through the bottom of the door. She knocked again when she didn't get an imediate answer. "Hellooo?"
