In the year 2037 most forms of gaming has changed. What use to be controllers, and then VR has become something known as Full immersion. This technology is simply defined as a body that you sit down in, put the helmet on and become fully immersed into a world of simulation. The world has many games to chose form but two games stand out among all else.
"Swords of Kingdoms" Your typical Medieval fantasy RPG. The second "Gunz and Glory" Your strategic Shooter game. Both seem like simple ideas but the company that has created these games has added on a new technology to them. Pain and increased senses. it seemed silly ate first that anyone would play a game that offered pain as one of its main sell points, but the idea of it actually being painful is what got people to buy it. Some form of a rush.
However what many learned after as that while pain was also offered the same technology also allowed people to feel the virtual wind, or the feel of grass under their feet as they walk along to open fields of SoK or could smell the smoke of a fired gun in GaG. It became quite additive to many, but even more so was the fact that many people could experience thing such as hug, kiss or more as they were full immersed into their avatar.
Due to this technology being so amazing and so many people getting involved suicide and murder around the world has dropped. People who suffer from their own sexual orientation can find other who share it much easier, or those who feel trapped in the wrong body can simple choose the opposite gender for their avatar.
Further more both games offer many jobs which can give people a sense of purpose as most things done these days (Such as farming and shopping) is done by robots. People no longer need to get involved with anything. These games give people more to do than just slay monsters. They can run shops, program weapons, teach, maybe even just live in a VR world only leaving to eat and sleep. It has truly become a utopia.
Now s you can probably figure there are bad points as well. Hacker who are finding ways to hijack pods and can stop a user for being able to log out, change their settings and even access brains.
I REALLY want to do an RP with either SoK or GaG as the main feature. i know you may think (why not just do that type of RP?) I like the idea of it being a game. The need of logging out. Sleep food, the perimeters that separate Game and Real world. Secret dungeons, clans, parties, respawns, Monsters, special events and of course, Hackers.
