Lea Thomas stretched her long legs as she balanced on the perch of her lifeguard chair nearing the end of her shift. It was nearing the end of her first week with Pine Ridge and she considered herself a very lucky girl. The wages were well above the burger joints most of her friends worked as they made their way through school and life. It was really fairly easy work, it wasn't like these rich folks couldn't swim or anything. Sure a few of them got a little grabby and they didn't exactly see her as an authority figure despite her whistle. She was learning the flow of the place and she had to admit that Mrs. Simpson kept a pretty good eye out for her this first week.
Clare Simpson was more than just a member, she had been the head of the personnel committee that had hired her and while she was busy with three active children, she seemed to run the Country Club as if it were her favorite hobby. It seemed like very few details of her job didn't fall under Mrs. Simpson's watchful eye. Even her two piece swim suits, which seemed just a tad skimpy for lifeguard work, had been selected by her. They were an assortment to help keep her tan lines minimal from the many hours in the sun. They were great to look at though she wondered if she ever did have to rescue someone if she might not have a wardrobe malfunction.
She had emphasized the very strict rule about staff fraternizing with the members. It was part of what had Lea keeping a rather frosty reception to even the genuinely friendly members. She was polite, but was careful not to give even the slightest interest in any of the members or their older, sexually obsessed sons. She figured these one percenters didn't want some middle class bimbo trying to date her way up the social ladder. It was a bit elitist but she wasn't about to argue. Lea had the definite impression that Mrs. Simpson was not one to accept anything but absolute obedience to the rules.
As things were winding down, Lea thought she would likely have the showers to herself. She was the only female employee left this evening and the staff locker room would be all hers. She looked forward to washing the smell of sunscreen and chlorine from her tired body. As the minutes finally ticked away she slid easily down off the high guard chair and went about closing and securing the pool. She said good night to the bartender who still had a few hours left to go then headed downstairs to a nice warm shower before heading home.
