I would like to do a series of roleplays that involve historical figured involved in impossible or historically inaccurate settings. What if the asp never bit Cleopatra? It can work with just about anyone.
The Man Who Rescued Joan of Arc
The stake was set a blaze, and Joan had resigned to her fate. As the fire crept to her ankles she began to scream in agony. It wouldn't be long before it was too big to be stopped. But one man, a Frenchmen in England, throws desperately a bucket of water and manages to snuff out the fire with his excellent throw, sparing Joan much more terrible pain.
The English try to seize him, but a small group of Frenchmen from Joan's old regiment show up just in time and fight them off so that the man has time to untie Joan from her place up on the stake. Her time in prison had been long, and the English had beaten her badly but she had toughed it out and now she was finally going to go home.
What's next for her young courageous life? At only nineteen, surely someone will take interest in the patron saint.
