Name: Elegra Lynn Cordova
Nickname: Elle or Cordova
Age: 24
Height: 6'0''
Weight: 170lbs

Visual~
viridiana_by_senekha-d6sc72u.jpg

Figure: Elegra was blessed with large "birthing hips" as her mother calls them along with a rear end to match, while in the breast area she has small 34C sized cups, not much simply for the fact her body wouldn't allow for it. Since she is always physically working her body to the limit there is nothing but lean toned muscle on her body but not enough to make the strong lines show and cause her to look manly. Needless to say she has a bottom heavy hourglass figure, one that she enjoys.
Eye Color: Light Green, with an inner ring of gold.
Hair Color/Style: Her hair is a dark red, some say that in battle her hair matches the color of blood that her victims shed. When loose her hair frames her face in gentle waves with many small braids weaving in and out of sight landing at the small of her back, while in battle she keeps it in a braid but that never stops strands from escaping.
Clothing: Casual Wear
Elegra can be found wearing a soft leather corset that is tightly laced down her spine as well as the soft tanedpants tucked into gladiator like sandals. This outfit gives her easy movement for training and every day movement. When the weather is warm she will opt out of the pants and simply have the tribal skirt on as seen in the picture.
Armor: War Attire
When going to war this fierce warrior wears a metal corset and gladiator style metal/leather skirt. Her leather sandals replaced with metal fronted boots and metal gauntlets around her wrists.
Weapons: Hawk and Dove the Twin Short Swords
And although she is skilled in mostly every form of weapontry she will never leave behind her blades, they are her favorite, often finding her sharpening them.
Companions: Every once and a while a blue bird will accompany her on her travels but only for a short while, fleeing whenever there is trouble headed her way.
Unique Characteristics: Elegra has many scars all over her body, the only notable one is down her side from the bottom of her left breast down to the top of her hip. She also has a tattoo of an ancient prayer of her people down her right thigh beginning at the top of her hip and ending curling down to her ankle. She also wears war makeup on her face and arms when going into battle.
Over all: Elegra carries herself strong and proud with her shoulders back and head held high. But her feminine hips cause her walk to become more salutary and seductive because of how she sways back and forth. Her voice is strong but soft at the same time, people listening when she talks but also talking when she is readily willing to listen.

History~
Origin: She is from an ancient tribe of warrior women that keep mostly to themselves but are often dragged into things that they cannot control.
Family: Her mother is the priestess of her tribe while her father is unknown. She also has a little sister whom she cares dearly about
History: Elegra was raised to be what she is today, fighting as well as meditating, keeping a balance between the two. (other than that I'll keep the history unknown)

Strengths: Stronger than most women. She has great agility and flexibility. Quick reaction time. Calm in a raging battle. She connects with animals easily. She has a healers touch, creating herbal medicines to help her people.
Weaknesses: She fears heights. She debates with herself sometimes, doubting her skills. Her thoughts and imagination can get the better of her when she lets them. Big strong men who can take her in a battle. Her sister.

Likes: The outdoors, animals, water, music, art, and meditating.
Dislikes: Rushing, when things don't go her way, men, petty arguments, being told to stay.

General Info
Name: Haine
Nickname: None
Age: 26
Height: 6'4
Weight: 190 lbs

Visual:
dante_by_omupied-d4q4ksg.jpg

Body Type: Haine has a very athletic, muscled, and toned body after years of swinging around a large, powerful greatsword and wearing heavy armor. He feels as if he has a body of steel when touched, and he towers above almost everybody he meets. Since he is practically a wall of muscle, he's heavy, and he makes sure that there is no useless muscle in his body.
Eye Color: Blue
Hair Color/Style: Light Brown
Armor: Heavy Armor
Weapons: A single, large greatsword.
Companions: None, Haine prefers to be alone. He feels that comrades and companions only get in his way, and he can't fight at his full efficiency around them.
Unique Characteristics: Numerous battle scars all over his body, but nothing really standing out.
Overall: Haine is indeed a large, powerful man, and his strong confidence rumbles with every step he takes. He always looks his foes and allies in the eyes, never afraid of backing down in a fight or argument. His voice is low and thick, and he can make it thunder if he wants to be heard or if he roars in battle.

History
Origin: Long ago, he was the son of a poor farmer outside of the kingdom, but even he doesn't remember the names of his family members.
Family: Unknown.
History: For the last five years, Haine had been fighting for the king, given the title of "Black Knight" for being the embodiment of his fearsome rage on the battlefield, but before then he was known as reckless mercenary. (Rest of history unknown.)

Strengths: Haine has ridiculous human strength, swinging around his greatsword with ease. He has much combat experience, incredible stamina, a high pain tolerance, and an excellent fighting sense. He's also an excellent swordsman, and great at hand-to-hand.
Weaknesses: He's extremely reckless in combat, often putting himself into harms way just to get a good shot at the opponent. Although he is quick with his large sword, more maneuverable enemies can slow him down, finding little gaps and such through his plate armor. He's stubborn, and believes the best way to fight an enemy is to take them straight on and hates strategies. He's fully incapable of magic, and dismisses any weapon that isn't his beloved greatsword, even in situations that render it useless. He is no leader, and prefers to go about doing things by himself, disobeying orders and possibly putting others in danger because of it.

Likes: Proving himself, fighting, his greatsword, opponents that can test him, and flutes.
Dislikes: The weak, retreating, animals, women warriors, and nobles.

RE: Endless War (Spyke LionxKay

The Great Forest of Floria. A place of many legends, secrets, adventures, and danger. Long ago, it is said that the goddess Floria, burning with the desire to protect her beloved amazonian city, created it to ensure their safety, its massive trees becoming an inescapable wall, trapping all those who wandered into the forest looking for the great city. Only those who have received permission from the amazons themselves are able to make their way there and back, but those have always been few in number. The dangers lurking inside are untold, which the exception of the strong female warriors who have named the hellish forest their home. Legends say that the power of Floria remains strong to this day, her strength and power materializing into the amazon women, making them one of the fiercest, most dangerous warriors to ever walk the land.

Not that Haine really gave a damn. To him, it was just a forest. An annoying, huge forest.

The trees, he noticed right away, were as massive as they say. With trunks thicker than the largest tower castle and with a height that looked as if they pierced the heavens. The gigantic branches were way too high up to reach and climb to, the few leaves that were falling were bigger than his head. The wind whistled through them, hardly shaking the branches way above, the sun only peaking out through the small gaps through the leaves. The roots of the trees were incredible in size as well, the surface ones acting as massive tunnels that curved in and out of the ground.

The rest of the flora in the forest, although unique, did not match the size of the gargantuan trees. Bushes sprouted small berries that Haine had never seen before, their colors differing from what he was used to. Flowers that sprouted from the earth were wider, each of their pedals looking untouched from any insects or parasites, and they let out a soothing, sweet fragrance. There were thorn bushes littered here and there, their thorns shaped like small steel blades.

"Don't touch them." A older male voice called. "They're sharp enough to cut right your skin given the chance, and some may even poison you." Frowning, Haine glanced up from his large black horse, spotting his guide and officer watching him from the front, his lips forming a small smile.

Commander Cornelius Ortega. One of the most decorated soldiers in the kingdom. All his accomplishments and achievements would be hard to cover in a single book. In his younger days, he led the charge of his unit, out-witting and out-maneuvering enemies even when their numbers were far fewer. Now, he was more of a political diplomat, his words carrying weight all over the kingdom, even in the city of the amazons where he was also known. As far as Haine knew, Command Ortega was the only man in the kingdom who was permitted to enter the amazon city, and the only person who knew the way.

"But those thorns aside, don't you find this forest absolutely beautiful?" Ortega asked, smiling widely, gently stroking his greying brown beard with his gauntlet. "It has been too long since I've been here. The trees have taken my breath away once again!" Ortega was dressed in his standard officers uniform, colored in ceremonial red and gold colors, his red cloak fluttering behind his shoulders. His trusted sword was hanging from his hip, his white horse trotting along the path wearing a delicately embroidered leather saddle.

"We've been here for far too long." Haine stated, his icy blue eyes glaring at the back of Ortega's head. "I've been following you all day, but all I keep seeing are these large trees." Greatly contrasting from Ortega's bright, wonderfully crafted armor was Haine's dark plated, Black Knight armor. Unlike the smooth, shimmering metal that Ortega wore proudly over his body, Haine's was menacing and jagged, his large, muscular body making the armor look even more intimidating on him. His black cloak fell thickly behind him, along with his incredibly massive greatsword that stayed clipped onto his back with a metal piece, its huge blade taking up his back and reaching far off the side of his horse. He took his armored hand and gently brushed a small lock of his light brown hair from his eyes, the frown still hanging from his lips.

"Patience, Black Knight." Ortega smiled, dismissing Haine's annoyance. "When I was your age, I was given the honor of having offspring with the amazons, and I'm sure the way hasn't changed." Reaching into his chestplate, Ortega brought out a small, jeweled amulet that was slung around his neck. "I was given this in return. As long as I wear this, the way will be made clear to us and we should be able to get there safely. Floria's magic shouldn't hinder us."

"The amazon goddess..." Haine grumbled to himself. "If there is such a thing as a god."

Cornelius chuckled, glancing back at the large warrior. "You know, it is odd to see a man have a disinterest in meeting the amazons. You're exactly what they want: you're strong, powerful, and an excellent warrior. It isn't often that the amazons find such a man. Even in my younger days, I wasn't quite like you."

"You're describing me as some sort of breeding stallion." Haine growled, eyes still boring in on Ortega. "You should know that I don't like having to be a bargaining chip... I don't agree to this at all."

"But in order to win this war, we need this." Ortega shot back with his own frown. "Among other things the amazons need, strong children and numbers are a priority for them. I don't care what happens when this war is over, but we need to win it first." Haine answered the commander with silence, finally ripping his gaze off the back of the older man's head.

"Anyways, we are almost there." Ortega added, smiling once more. "Remember, we are here to make allies, not enemies. Many of the amazons, especially the younger ones, have never seen a man before. Don't say anything insulting, don't do anything threatening, and just stand there and do what I tell you. I'd like to go back home with my head intact, Black Knight." As they trotted further on, the wind slowed, the small music of the leaves fading. The sun grew dimmer and dimmer, the comfortable air getting sharply chillier. A feeling of danger crept up Haine's spine, and he calmly reached back to grasp the hilt of his greatsword.

"No, Haine." Ortega commanded, sensing Haine's growing bloodlust. "Remember, we aren't being expected. It was either we find them.... or they find us."

RE: Endless War (Spyke LionxKay

High in the tree tops sat a wrap around 'watch tower' as the younger ones liked to call it. But all it really was was a simply made walk way around the grand tree trunk of the forest over looking their land in all directions. Normally, on any day there might be two or three women sitting and swinging their bare feet over the edge but today there were about a dozen women with their weapons stalked as well as leather armor adorned on their lithe bodies. Most of the amazons carried staffs that were tipped with the very thorns that lay on the ground as well as shields made of the bark and trunks of the trees. This was a precaution of course but they would rather be prepared than not.

The bright day light soon turned in to waning sunlight as the crisp breeze turned into one with bite but the pacing feet along the wooden watch tower did not cease. Centurion Liza Swan was charged with the look out and escort of the visitors that were to come and kept watch intently through her spy glass that was salvaged, taken, from their last battle with the so called male warriors of the east. Vial creatures.

"Liza!" called one of the younger women, "Look! I see them! Just over there!" her excited prancing causing the whole tower to shake.

Liza quickly walked over to the yelling voice and smacked her upside the head, "I told you beginners no jumping around like that do you want Floria to come down on us all for disturbing her forest?" that quieted and stilled the young amazon, barely hitting her teens but old enough to carry her own weapon.

"Now," Liza took the spy glass from the girl and looked to where she had pointed and sucked in a surprised breath, the girl was right, "Good job little one" she raised her hand again to pat her on the shoulder and give her a soft smile, hoping the girl would forgive her for her harsh words.

She kept watch over the two riders for another half hour as they kept venturing the right direction and marveled at the sheer size of the darker clad male. Liza had seen some large men in her days but this warrior was far more intimidating than those she had seen. As for the first warrior that led on she did not vaguely recognized from maybe her childhood.

"Alright warriors." she called out to the women around her, who were antsy to start their decent towards the men, "Half of you used the bridges and move around behind them, the rest of your belay down now and move to the front of them." she smirked, "I'll be taking a more direct root." and with that they were off. Half the women running with light footing over the bridges that connected many of the trees together for an easier way of travel while half used rope to descend down to the root and plant covered grounds.

Liza took her sweet time as she strung a great long bow with an arrow that had attached to its tail a strong woven vine. By the time she had pulled back the bow and aimed, a good majority of the women were on the ground and heading in the men's direction.

Letting the arrow fly it hit several yards above the ground but that would work for her plans. Tying off the end of the vine to the grand tree she used a piece of leather to wrap around both hands as well as over the vine. With a power bound of her strong legs she was off, zipping through the tree tops, her feet running on the leaves as well as jumping over any branches in her way.

Wind whipped through her blonde hair as she descended and finally letting go of one side of the leather yards before the tree and ground she landed in a roll, ending up in a crouch in front of the two men. She froze for a moment there as the horses danced in shock and she withdrew her blade from its sheath on her hip just as the rest of the women walked through the forest into their view.

Many looked on with curiosity and some even whispered to others but Liza simply stood and met the older man's eyes, the one that seemed in charge and lifted her sword to the amulet around his neck, lifting it up with the tip slowly. All the while keeping her eyes on his before flickering down to see the stone shine against the wavering sun and sparkle is familiar gold across the forest life and eyes of the women.

That golden light caused Liza to swiftly sheath her sword and give the men an approving nod. In her native tongue she said to the women that they were the ones before turning her attention back to the men, her eyes only briefly landing on the over dark clad man. But she was told to only communicate to the one is Floria's amulet.

"Welcome," she said bowing her head in respect for the amulet, not for the man wearing it, "We have been expecting you. You both are weary, we shall escort you to our city." and with that she, standing beside the horse of the older man, and the other women started walking, making a large circle around the men. Some giggles came from the younger ones and she shot a disapproving look in the direction of the noise.

"This is quite a big deal here..." she said as the trees started to clear.

~~~
Back in the main building women were rushing around as word had been sent saying that the men had arrived and a banquet was to be ready by the time they got to the Great Hall of Floria. at the head of the hall stood a stone statue of a women with open arms, reaching towards the heavens and behind her a large window facing the rapidly darkening waters as the sun laid to rest over the horizon.
A large wooden table shaped in a U was set in the center while other round tables set on the sides. The banquet table was set with many kinds of meats, cheese, fruits, breads, and wines of their lands. Truly over flowing with the exclusivity of their people. Flowers in large vases adorned the hall as well with flowers as big as one's head that made the hall smell sweet. Candles as a welling fire in the large fireplace that rested in the corner illuminated the darkest of corners. Everything would be ready by the time they arrived.
And at the feet of the grand statue knelt a dark red haired women with a long streak of white starting from her temple all the way through her hair. She was praying, chanting, and when she was finally done she stood and turned walking down the steps. She was graceful and fit, her strong dark green eyes shown out like stars as she watched the room change into one of worship to one of feasting.
"Daughter, come here and stop pouting." Priestess Narsissa said in a strong voice, "You know why you couldn't go. Floria said it was not to be done."
"I know, I know Mother." said Elegra pacing by the fire, "Can't they just hurry and get this over with?" she asked as she looked towards the door with her light green eyes and a small frown, almost willing it to open and finally see who was to be entering their scared grounds.
Haine sensed it seconds before it happened. A sudden gust emerging from the tops of the trees signaled it to him, and he instantly reached his hand back to grasp the hilt of his massive blade, his muscles burning to remove it from his back. Ortega quickly reached back a hand to stop him, making the black knight snarl in frustration. Still, the massive man obeyed with all his might, gently releasing the tight grip on his sword. Suddenly, out from the trees rolled a blonde woman, a blade ready in her hands. The horses jump back slightly in surprise, their whinnies echoing around the massive tree trunks. As she stepped forth, more amazons emerged from the threes, weapons also in their hands. Haine cursed, subconsciously holding onto to his massive sword hilt.
"Greetings." Ortega nodded, smiling to the warrior women. "I am Command Cornelius Ortega, officer to the king." She said nothing to him, instead reaching over her blade to lift the amulet from Ortega, examining it closely. Although Haine didn't remove his sword, he still watched cautiously, ready to reach out with his heavy blade if needed. Instead, she calmly withdrew her sword, and started barking some orders to the other women in their strange languge.
When she finally spoke, Ortega bowed his head politely with the grin still plastered on his lips. "Splendid, thank you. Come on, Haine, we shall arrive there soon." Haine briefly made contact with the leader of the group of warriors, studying her gaze for that instant. The look in her eyes was familiar... he had seen it on the battlefield from the more experienced, skilled fighters. That gave him all the info he needed, and quickly grew wary of how dangerous these warrior women actually were. Finally, he removed his heavy gauntlet from the hilt of his sword, the other warriors gathering around both him and Ortega.
He was finally able to truly see what the amazons were like.
Some, like the woman who greeted them, had an impressive fighting aura. The others, the younger ones, still looked green. Each of them were armored, but the amount varied- each of them were not afraid to show their skin and legs, and he guessed that it had something to do with evasiveness and maneuverability.
As they circled them, Haine could already feel the stairs. They weren't like the usual stares from the women he would get back in the city-they would only giggle and whisper to each other, blinking there eyes at him before scuttling away. These women were staring at him like some sort of gift- almost like a fine stallion. While some giggled behind his back, he could tell that he was being studied, his large, muscled, bulky frame hard to not notice.
"Don't mind them Haine." Ortega smiled, looking back. "Take it as a compliment."
"Tch." Haine lightly snarled, his icy blue eyes sweeping left to right. He refused to open his mouth- anything he said would have mostly likely been insulting.
"Relax, Black Knight." Ortega said, looking forward as the trees began to clear, the reveal of the city just moments away. "There's no need for violence here. Just do as I say, don't speak unless you have permission or are spoken to, and like I said before-"
"I hear you, old man." Haine bit back in response. Ortega chuckled, Haine trotting his horse faster to walk beside the old commander, his icy blue eyes on what he would see ahead. In just mere moments, the amazons led through into a clearing, and Haine could hear what sounded like a massive, powerful river.
And then he saw it.
The Great City of Floria was exactly how Ortega described it to be, unlike any city he had ever seen before. It was built on a landmass in the middle of the river, and although they were staring at it from a distance, he could see the incredible craftsman and skill it had taken to build. Now that they were out of the forest, the sun beamed on them brightly, shining over the incredible city. He could pick out an impressive statue near the middle of the empowering civilization, the sun blinding his view just enough so that he couldn't see its details.
Haine and Ortega took a moment to stare the city before getting pushed on by the group of amazon warriors, heading over towards its large, decorative gate that guarded entry into the city.
"Alright, Haine." Ortega smiled, placing a hand on his comrade's shoulder. "Keep your cool."
Liza arched a blonde brow at the two men's quips back and forth about how to act and finally spoke again after a while of silence as they came into view of the city, "You and your partner may call me Liza I am charged with being the guardian of the forest." she continued on watching the men's expressions intently, "Welcome to Shiera," her eyes glittered slightly as she smirked and looked up at the Commander, "Or should I say welcome back?"
They ventured towards the great arching bridge with a gate that looked like crafted metal with vines coming up to coil themselves around the metal. Draping them in tiny scarlet flowers that would remind any human of the color of blood. Two of the amazons, some of the more well developed women, opened the gate outwards to reveal the stone bridge that led to the city. With the tall gates pulled back to reveal the city, on the main land form it showed a large Central building with elegantly carved walls, looking as if it had been carved out of a solid piece of stone. While it branched off with bridges to smaller land formations for housing buildings, sparring grounds, and enmities that they needed for every day life. Everything seemed to be connected on the strange land in the middle of the raging waters that skirted around the main island as well as the small ones, barely disturbing the smooth rocks. The bridge would end at the central square where there were women milling about, doing their day to day chores along with simply wanting to see the new comers.
Liza led the way with the Commander and Haine while the rest of the women fell back, "You will both be joining our Priestess, and anyone of rank, for a feast, we will tend to your horses as you do so, the priestess does not let animals into the Hall." she patted the side of the Commanders horse lightly, "But I think that your companion there will make an acceptation." she said nodding towards Haine as they finally crossed the long bridge and landed on the main island.
"Take their horses sisters, water them well and keep them safe." she said in her native tongue once again, "Wouldn't want our guests getting stuck here now would we?" this caused the women around them to laugh.
"Follow me." she said without a turn back towards the men, assuming they had dismounted and were ready for the walk to the hall. Women on the way there nodded towards both Liza and Commander Ortega but simply looked at Haine with almost feral smiles, speaking in their native tongue to one another. Some were even bold enough to start walking along side the men comparing their height to that of their own, watching at they walked and looking at every detail of their frame. There was an excitement in the air that Liza had not felt in a great time.
Finally reaching the large wooden doors Liza pushed both open to reveal the statue inside as well as the food, women and so on. Liza stepped to the side and gestured the men to go in. "Best of wishes boys." she told them before she herself went in and left them for their own venturing.
~~~

Elegra felt the crisp wind waft into the Hall of Floria and immediately looked up and walked forward. Her mother was already walking towards the men with open arms and a smile on her lips. Strangely enough it was a genuine smile of good faith.

"Gentlemen!" her voice was strong and echoed over the hall as she walked forward dressed in traditional garb of her people. A long blue skirt that was slit up the sides with a light tan leather corset. She was adorned with golden hairpins and necklaces as well as a golden belt holding a small blade. It was very uncommon to see a woman that did not carry some sort of weapon at all times.

"We have missed you here Octane." she said with a glitter in her green eyes as well as a knowing smile. She held her arm out to him when she got close enough for a warriors hand shake where they would grab each by not just the hand but the fore arm in a grip. They did not believe in bowing to anyone but the Goddess.

"Who have you brought with you?" she asked as she looked over Haine.

Elegra was just behind her mother as she greeted the men with enthusiasm. She was dressed in similar garments only hers were a light green, that of her eyes, and a dark brown corset as well as silver adornments on her body with a matching blade like her mother.

She couldn't help but stare at the man clad in the dark armor, he was taller than she was with a menacing long sword on him that she wondered how many deaths he had dealt with that sword. He was by far the best example of a man she had seen in all of her years. But then again she guessed she could best him in a match. With that final thought she crossed her arms in front of her chest as well as straightened her shoulders, her ruby red lips slightly pulled down at the corners.

Haine was cautious, constantly eyeing the female warriors around him. He hated attention, and right now they were the focus point. As they were welcomed into the city, dozens of pairs of eyes were on them, watching them and staring at them as if they were foreign zoo animals. Of course, Ortega didn't mind it- he had been here before, and this was what he expected. Haine hated the stares, answering them with glares of his own, towering above every single amazon that was there. They were all warriors as he could tell, and many had their weapons on their hips or their backs, each of them either clothed in casual cloths or light armor that showed off skin.

Soon enough, Haine and Ortega stepped off their horses, and the Black Knight cautiously handed the reins to a smiling stable girl. The amazons around them spoke in their native tongue and laughed amongst each other, and some even had the nerve to run up to Haine's side, observing his body, the way he walked, and although they couldn't see his body underneath, they could probably visualize his size. Resisting his urge to bat them away, Haine tried to calmly follow Ortega, his sword arm begging for its release.

At her "animal" comment towards him, Haine silently snarled, stepping up behind the centurion. An arm whipped out, blocking Haine from his chest. "What did I tell you?" Ortega sighed, shaking his head. "She was just teasing a little. Besides, you ARE a beast, Black Knight." With a chuckle, the commander slapped Haine on the shoulder and went on his way, the amazonian women laughing lightly to themselves. Biting back on his teeth, Haine followed reluctantly, his hands constantly clenching into fists.

He had to admit, the city was something else. The entire city was connected, and although it wasn't the largest city, it was indeed the most unique and magnificent. He could spot training grounds near what looked like the barracks, among numerous houses, stables, and what looked like a large temple.

"Remember, let me do the talking." Ortega whispered to Haine, looking up at the knight with serious eyes. "Unlike the men from the outside, they aren't intimidated by you, but fascinated. They'll be curious."

"If one touches me..." Haine growled quietly back, his hands twitching at the thought.

"It won't come to that, I promise." Ortega responded, raising a hand. "Now, shall we enter?" They were brought to a large hall by Liza, who gave them a few words and pushed open the large doors. The smell of food quickly caught Haine's nose, and he had to focus to keep his mouth from watering. Whatever they were cooking, it smelled amazing.

With the urge of the centurion, Ortega stepped inside with Haine right at his back, eyeing the hall left and right. "Ah!" Ortega smiled, shaking the hand of the regal, beautiful woman. "Priestess Narsissa! It has been a long time. I'm sure we have much to discuss and catch up on, don't we?" Haine stayed in the back, crossing his arms. Strangely, someone behind the priestess caught his eye.

Her hair was a deep, dark red, reminding him of the color of blood while her strange, gold yet green eyes watched him, taking in his large body. He wasn't sure who she was, but there was certainly an aura about her that demanded that he not ignore her presence. She, like the priestess, also had a blade at her side, and he could tell that at a glance that she could use it.

For some reason, just looking at her pissed him off.

When the priestess asked about Haine, Ortega just smiled and glanced back at the Black Knight. "Him? Well, it's a long story, but it's best to be discussed over dinner, so shall we?" Ortega smiled. Haine continued to stare at the strange woman, eyeing her up and down. He couldn't help but feel that she was challenging him...

Elegra's mother smiled and slipped her hand through Ortega's arm and led him in further in to the grand hall. On the table there were already steaming platters of food. "There has been a another chair added for you two in the middle of the table at your usual position Ortega." said the priestess as she patted his arm and released him to sit in the arch of the U shaped table. This was where all their guests sat since it was the only place there they could sit and talk and everyone could both hear and see them. As well as they would be in reach of all the food. While Narsissa took a seat at the head on the outside of the grand table with the statue and window behind her.

Elegra followed after the men with ease not letting the beast of a man behind her, she didn't like that. Having someone like him in her home. So when he passed her by she flashed him a smile that could melt any weak man's heart before taking her seat to the right of her mother and reached for a pare that sat in front of her, taking a bite before leaning back.

Narsissa sighed contently and waited for her guests to sit before she poured, her and her daughter a berry wine as well as the men. "Eat to your hearts content men," she nodded towards Haine "I know if you are anything like Ortega was then you could eat a whole bore without becoming full." she laughed at the memory as she sipped her wine before she herself began to fill her silver plate.

With those words it seemed to signal to the other women in the hall listening intently that they to could begin eating, mostly the women would have a plate and fill it from anything that was at the ends of the far table before sitting at the round tables around the room. But voices did echo in the Hall so Elegra knew that there was little that could not be heard.

Elegra studied Haine close up, noting his blue eyes, that which reminded her of when a river freezes over, that always seemed to be glancing here and there as if he were ready for anything to happen. She took a long pull of her wine and downed the whole thing before she refilled it.

Seeing as her mother was going to wait to say anything until the men had eaten a good amount Elegra asked, "So what is he doing here?" she asked as if he weren't sitting right across from her at the same table as she took another bite of her fruit. She did not miss the look she got from her mother for being rude to their guests.

Haine did know true beauty when he saw it. If any of the soldiers from the kingdom were here they would be absolutely drooling over the bodies of the amazon women. Each of them were incredibly beautiful, their skin fair and their hair looking as soft and vibrant as silk. Their looks were in a class of their own, and none of the women from back home could compare to them. Especially the red-headed amazon girl who had flashed Haine a smile as she passed him, taking a sit right next to her mother. Haine had to admit that if he were a lesser man, his heart may have swooped straight out of his chest, dropping right onto the floor.

But it only pissed him off.

Although the food smelled excellent and the amazons were holding a special celebration for them, he detested it. Haine was a warrior, he desired to be on the battlefield. He needed to feel his sword in his hands, the scent of blood filling his nostrils, not the smell of cooked pork on a plate in front of him. He didn't care if the kingdom needed these amazon warriors to fight for them- in fact, he didn't care much for the kingdom at all.

He only needed to fight and grow stronger.

At the redhead's remark of him being there, Haine quickly glared at the redhead, his icy blue eyes attempting to pierce right through her. Just hearing her voice and her presence was getting on his nerves... why couldn't this woman stay quiet and away like the others back at the kingdom? Normally, shooting them a look would shut them up, but it looks like these amazons weren't afraid of backing down.

Ortega simply chuckled, cutting into a slab of meat on his plate. "Ah, yes. Priestess, this must be your daughter I presume? She definitely has your fire." The older man chuckled, lightly nudging Haine with his elbow. He could sense that the larger man was growing more irritated by the second, and keeping the knight in check would become a little harder the more this would go on.

"Although I would rather discuss this more privately, now wouldn't be a bad time." Ortega stated, setting down his fork. "Priestess, it has been a long time since we have called upon you for aide, but once again we must ask for your assistance." Ortega's face grew serious, and he folded his hands over each on the table.

"The war that we have been fighting for hundreds of years has finally broken its stalemate. The enemy Kingdom of Zarath has invaded our lands, and has already taken over precious settlements along the way. For some reason, they have managed to ally themselves with foreign nations, and we are unfamiliar with the weapons and tactics that they have brought with them. We have been getting pushed back with every battle, and soon the fighting will even reach here. I fear that even the Forest of Floria will not be safe from the enemy." Ortega's tone was low, his smile gone.

"And of course, we have not come here asking for one-sided aide. The kingdom is willing to pay you for the services we ask of you... and that is why Haine is here." Ortega glanced over at the Black Knight, nodding to his companion. Haine simply glared back, staying silent.

"We understand that your city has its needs. Supplies, food, perhaps land. But above all, we understand that your population is dwindling, and you are in need of strong children. The kingdom is willing to send over fine young soldiers to help your numbers situation. And Haine, the Black Knight of the king, is our strongest warrior." Ortega smiled a little, sending a little pat on the large man's back. Haine shot him another gaze, growling quietly.

"I have brought him here so you can take a look at himself, and I know you won't be disappointed. Even when I came here so many years ago, there was not a man like Haine around, especially one that could swing a sword that size as if it was nothing." Haine felt the eyes of the amazons upon him, his irritation almost reaching its peak.

"Well, why don't you take a closer look, priestess?" Ortega asked with a smile. "Tell me what you see."

Elegra paid little attention to the daggers that were being thrown at her from pircing blue eyes from across the table. Only smirking as the question had done it's job, to annoy the big lug. The other women in the hall chatted quietly among themselves glancing back and forth from their Priestess to the men all the while enjoying the food that was prepared. Elegra thought someone might as well enjoy the food because she felt as if the group at this table would not be eating very much. This whole experience caused her nerves to be put on end, with the everlasting scowl plastered on Haine's face to the looks that her people were passing back and forth. She thoroughly wished that she did not have to be there.

The Priestess smiled softly as she glanced at her daughter and back at Ortega, "Yes, that would be Elegra, she makes everyone proud here. One of the finest fighters as well as spiritually connected to the goddess."

"Mother..." Elegra mumbled, she felt like she was 10 again and getting introduced. She rolled her golden eyes and continued to pick at her food, to interested in the conversation to really protest or eat for that matter.

Narsissa ignored her daughters protest, "Whatever you have to say Ortega can be said here, my people are to be trusted." she encouraged him as he went on, noting his serious tone. As he continued she nodded at his words, her fingertips tracing the rim of her wine glass. What Ortega said was true, their people had always had a problem finding strong willed men to suit their purposes. But at the mention of their forest her eyes darkened as well as lips tightened. The forest was theirs to protect and to guard from unwanted people since it did so much for them and their kind. This was something that the Priestess could not allow to happen. She allowed Ortega to finish his proposal and sat back in her chair for a moment glancing at Haine before speaking.

"Your proposal is a decent one, Ortega." she ran a hand through her white striped hair before folding them in her lap, "My people do not need money, nor would we accept it. We provide for ourselves as you know." she pursed her lips, "But what you have offered is far greater and needed than any of the other material proposals."

She paused as she studied Haine, "Would you stand for me Haine?" the Priestess asked before she herself did as well, "He has the unbending will of a mountain, stubborn one, and if his strength is as vast as you say than he would be a force to be trifled with..." her eyes locked with his and seemed to be searching for something, something very deep that only she could see and dug deep down to the pit of his knighted soul there was rage there as well as courage and honor but most of all there was a passion for the battle that she hadn't seen before but she approved, "You have brought a true warrior to us Ortega." as she said her last words she started to pace.

Elegra often wondered how her mother knew these things but learned a long time ago not to ask for reason as to her thinking. When she looked upon him all she way was an arrogant man who was used to getting what he wanted. He looked at the world as if it were lesser than him and she couldn't care less what he thought about her but she knew it was nothing good.

Her mother spoke again, "I would want this deal, shall we call it, to be guaranteed by your King. That after this war is won that we are to receive the soldiers as soon as possible as well as a protection deed of out land, saying that they will also be protectors of our forests if an invasion shall ever come to be." she finally sat back down next to Elegra, "I want it in the writing of the king with his seal. And with that I will allow my warriors to be a part of the war with your people. I will send back with you some of my best warriors as well to make a show of good faith and when the deal is done and the agreement final then I will send the rest of my people to anywhere your Kind desires immediately to assist in every way possible."

Elegra listened intently but a frown appeared across her lips, "Mother, how do we know that this man is so great? He should prove himself. To everyone." her arm swept around to the other women as she looked at Haien, "See if he is equal to anyone here. I bet my little sister could knock him to the ground like nothing more than a sapling. I for one would love a show." she was doing this to ebb him on, see if she could make him snap, see if she could see the real warrior that was being held back so fiercely.

At the sudden attention of the priestess, Haine had no choice but to comply for now. He stood up from the table, towering above the amazons and Ortega. His massive sword remained clipped onto his back, his black cloak swinging about behind him. However, although he expected her to pay more attention to his build and body, she locked her gaze with him, her eyes tying onto his own. For a few moments he stood there, watching her eyes as she stared deep into him, never letting go of her eyes. Strangely, he felt something... as if she was observing his soul, picking it apart and taking a deep look at the suppressed feelings and emotions that he had kept safe there. When she had finished, he felt the odd weight disappear, and even staggered slightly.

He definitely didn't like that.

When the haze had finally lifted, Haine blinked his eyes awake. It seems that she had read him somehow... in a strange, almost prophetic way.... to him, it was much too personal. Ortega looked rather satisfied, smiling at the priestess, nodding in agreement to what she had said about him.

"I'm glad that you noticed it as well, priestess." Ortega bowed his head admirably. "Haine is indeed a powerful fighter, and it is wise of you to understand that he would only strengthen your people along with our other troops." Sadly, although the kingdom had other strong, capable fighting men, none of them matched Haine. Not in size, strength, or ferocity. Would the amazons be disappointed later on? Perhaps, but that would be IF they won the war.

When the priestess had agreed to the deal, Ortega smiled brightly, his face lightening up considerably. "Thank you, priestess! This will mean a great deal to our people. With your powerful forces at our side, we may be able to turn the tides of this godforsaken war. Let us hope that we put an end to this endless fighting for once and for all!"

As soon as he finished, Elegra had made her comment, shooting it straight for Haine. Ortega blinked, raising his hands in protest. "Oh, I'm sorry, I don't think that's-"

"Oh?" Haine spoke for the first time in the hall, turning his attention towards the red-headed amazon. Her comment had neither sparked anger or irritation- the tall, black-armored warrior was smirking, his hands flexing in and out of large fists. "I've always wanted to fight one of you amazon women. I could never understand how the legends could speak of women warriors like they were some sort of fighting gods. I've always wanted to put them in their place..." He reached his hands up, cracking his knuckles.

"Haine..." Ortega stood up. "Don't provoke-"

"Shut up, old man." Haine growled, glaring down at his commander. "I've done all you've asked. I've left the battlefield to come to a girl's slumber party, and if I can get some action you damn well know I'm going to get it." The dark knight turned his icy blue gaze towards the redhead.

"Starting with the blood-headed bitch." Haine smiled devilishly, reaching back to grip the handle of his giant sword. "Should we take this outside? I'd hate for your mother to be the one to wipe off what's left of you from the floor."

"And I would hate for the feast be ruined by your bloody black body hanging from the table like a limp fish when I smash your face into our nice table that might, just might, be as thick as your skull. You heathen." she said almost mirroring his smirk as she stood and was ready to jump over the table and take a swipe at his neck with her blade, she thought about how pretty her sharp blade would be in crimson.

Just as Elegra's grip tightened on the hilt of her blade her mothers fist pounded down on the table, making everything shake and the women stop all chatter and freeze to look in her direction. Her mother was irritated, all she had wanted was to discuss the proceedings, have a nice dinner, and maybe catch up with an old friend. But her daughter could not be tamed and she hadn't expected her to.

"Elegra, you know we do not allow blood shed in the Hall. Even for guests as intriguing as they are." she pinched the bridge of her nose and addressed Ortega, "Seems they are set on a match, would you escort me out to the court yard Ortega? We might as well watch, since it seems they are set on it." she glanced at her daughter, "Give him hell daughter." she said before standing, taking her glass of berry wine and leading the way out the large wooden doors to sit at the edge of the court yard where her women were already clearing the area as well as setting a couple of chairs for the Priestess and Commander.

She sat in her appointed chair and sipped her wine as women started to gather, some even placing bets on who would win. "I know this isn't the best way to start off things Ortega but maybe the two of them can become more antiquated with one another since I plan on sending her with the two of you." she said with a small smile.

Back inside the Hall the women started to move again as well as Elegra. She was used to her mothers outbursts but she did not like being scolded in front of this man. She rolled her eyes at the last of her mothers comments, oh she would give him hell that was for sure.

Ignoring Haine for now she called for Liza in her native tongue and as if the blonde haired woman already knew that this would happen she brought out her metal armored corset and matching gauntlets around her wrists as well as her two blades Hawk and Dove. That was all she would need for this fight. Liza helped her click the corset in to place and it hugged her body tightly, making her hourglass figure even more pronounced, over the leather corset as well as the metal gauntlets. She let her waist length hair down and over her shoulders as she bent down to rip off half of the front and half of the back of her skirt to make it easier for her to move in. She was now exposing enough thigh to make any normal woman feel like she was in her undergarments but to an amazon this was nothing.

"I hope you aren't fond of all your teeth boy." she said as she walked passed him to the doors, her hips swaying obnoxiously and she swung both her swords in her hands before going out side to where everyone was waiting.

Elegra walked into the circle and raised a fitted hand clutching her sword's hilt and the crowd of women hollered and yelled for the scarlet haired woman.

Ah, this was it. The familiar thrill before a battle creeping up through Haine's spine, the heat in his blood causing it to boil in his veins. This is what he was meant to do- not become a diplomatic breeding stallion for the kingdom, no... he was meant to fight. To win. To kill. Some may consider his desire to engage is such bloodthirsty acts inhuman, and perhaps they were right. But to Haine, it was natural, it was his purpose. It was what he aspired to do, and what he dreamed of doing every night he closed his eyes. Although the female warrior's harsh comments should pick at his ego, they instead made him smile wider, gratefully accepting the challenge. He wouldn't acknowledge it himself, but he knew that she was no pushover- she was strong in a different sense, the kind of fighter that Haine may have some difficulty fighting. But if the fight were to continue on, it would be more and more on his side...

"Haine." Ortega stopped the massive brute for one moment, reaching up to place a hand on his black plated shoulder. "Before you get carried away, this isn't a fight to the death. It would be bad for both sides if either of you died. Remember that."

"Quiet." Haine answered, not bothering to look down at the officer. "If neither of us fought all out here, we would only disappoint ourselves. This is my battle, so stay out of it." Haine made his way out the doors, following the redheaded warrior. Ortega sighed, running his hands through his hair, walking side by side with the priestess.

"I hope you know what you're doing by allowing this." Ortega said quietly, making his way out into the courtyard. "I imagine your daughter is no slouch by any means, but Haine... well, he's something else. I hope, if anything, they put each other in their own places."

The day was beginning to set, the sun dropping below the horizon in time for the duel. The river that surrounded the city nearly glowed with it's burning colors, giving the city another beauty for the time of day. The wind lightly graced over Haine's body, blowing his hair lightly around his face, his heavy cloak fluttering slightly in response. This was ideal- there would be no sunlight to get into either one of their faces in the fight, and there would be no natural interruptions.

The moment he took his spot outside the temples, the cheers started, the majority of them for the redheaded amazon. They noises didn't deter him- he had been in situations like this numerous times. Reaching back his hand, he gripped the hilt of his sword and swung it out from his back, holding it at his side with just one hand. Now that it was out, its true size was seen. The sword was nearly as tall as he was, the width of the blade wider than the width of his head. It was a marvelous weapon, and in Haine's eyes it was the only weapon. Although Elegra's weapons were fine on their own, there was no way she could block the full swing from his weapon- she would have to rely on her dodging skills.

Before the fight even started, Haine had made the calculations in his head. Strangely, they both seemed like a hard counter to each other- Elegra looked fast and nimble, her moves likely precise and accurate. Although she had a lack of armor, her maneuverability was drastically increased, her speed definitely top notch. Haine himself was well armored, his swings quick and strong, focusing on crushing his opponent with a single strike. Hitting her would be one thing, but if he got just an entire swing on her it would most likely be over.

But now, there was no time to think. Just act.

The moment that Elgra would turn her attention to him and draw her swords, Haine sprung into action. His heavy black plating would appear to make him slow, but Haine would prove that would not be the case. He dashed towards her at an almost blinding speed, his heavy sword coming out from the side, the heavy pressure of the swing cracking the air. He didn't expect it to hit her- it was just a simple greeting.

A simple, heavy greeting.

"I'm sure that they can Ortega. If this partnership is ever going to work they both might as well gain some respect for one another." said the Priestess with a tight smile as she watched intently, not sparing a glance at the Commander, she did not want to miss a single detail of the match. But even a Priestess's strong will could not overpower at times as she glanced at the man beside her and at the aged features much like her own. She was reminded of her youth and how she had had so much fire and so much life to fight just as her daughter has. She smiled softly to herself and patted the gauntlet covered hand of the Commanders.

Elegra always felt something close to anxiety when she was about to fight but she had learned to push it down to the pit of her core and help it fuel her to go further, try harder, and win. She maybe one of the best fighters in the village but even she was not a match for the brute strength that he held while gripping that. She made a quick thanks to the Goddess before turning around, wisps of hair crossing over her face but she made no move to move them as her attention rose to focus only on Haine. She had trained for years on how to simply focus on her opponent in the heat of battle, kill with the lest amount of energy and then move on to the next. But with Haine she would have to use all of her energy for this battle.

It seemed the moment she took her stance the fight had started and Haine came charging at her like a deadly snake, quick to strike. Having only split moments to analyze the attack she chose to dodge. Of course there were easier ways to do this but seeing as she was ready and this was what she decided on as he ran towards her. It would have to do. She took a few quick and strong bounds of her long legs to gain some speed like her opponent, readied, and jumped. She was careful to jump when the sword was already swinging across to get into the range, closer to him and where the sword wasn't. She did a graceful leap in the air her feet landing on the behemoths large chest and pushing with all the strength that she held in her powerful thighs to push off of him, if she had aimed correctly her foot would connect with his jaw in a powerful kick. Flipping back gracefully and away from his sword, her blades used as counter weights to keep her landing on her feet in a crouch to the side of him. She was having fun, not having been able to use that move yet on anyone worth while she smiled to herself loving that it had worked to dodge in such a way.

As she stood swiftly and swung her swords in a circular motion from her side as to get the most for her hit, gritting her teeth, as she hit the armor on his side with both swords looking for a chink in his black armor. Hearing the scrape of metal against metal she quickly prepared for his counter. She knew there must be some sort of flaw in this god forsaken armor. She would just have to find where.

Women around them both cheered for the fighters, most of their figures only silhouettes against the falling sun. The air slowly turning to a colder chill and whistling through the city, as if trying to cool down the fighters and still them of their fighting. But even the elements would not be able to keep them from the match.

If there could be anything said about Haine on the battlefield, it was his ferocity.

Haine didn't expect to actually hit her with that strike- it was like testing the waters, seeing how good she really was. He didn't mindlessly fight like the others thought he did- there was a rage there, but there were still calculations to be in place. And when she dodged his wide slash, giving him a powerful kick to the jaw, that gave him all he needed. He had to admit, it knocked it around for a bit, his mind flashing white. It was strong indeed- perhaps it would have indeed knocked out a much lesser man. But Haine? Although the pain was real, he wouldn't let it slow him down. He took it as her form of greeting- she'd be smiling now, but the pressure would only increase from then on out.

She went for the opening after his slash, her blades clanking against his armor. Good move, good counter, but against his heavy armor she wouldn't be able to slide her blades through it. Haine grinned devilishly, knowing that his opening had appeared. This time, she wouldn't be able to do one of her little acrobatic flips.

She would be forced to block.

The reason why Haine used such a massive blade wasn't only that he just wanted to- it was also that he couldn't use a smaller weapon. He would often break the smaller swords in combat, whether it would be on the opponent's armor or shield. The massive greatsword that he wielded was crafted to be nearly indestructible, its size and power made specifically to cut down any defenses the enemy had. Blocking was useless- every one of his swings was strong enough to break through an iron shield, smashing through the metal and cutting into the enemy. If his opponent was forced to block, they better pray that their bodies and weapons were strong enough to take the blow.

Haine's powerful, pressuring swing came right back at her, too close and too fast for her to be able to dodge correctly. It was now time to test the true strength of amazonian steel, his blow going to be strong enough to knock her almost all the way across the courtyard.

Elegra felt the air shirt around his body before she saw him move and the hair on the back of her neck stood as if to warn her. What to the people watching might think was simply a blur of steel was both of her swords brought up before her to make an X before the massive sword hit its mark.

The sound that their blades made would make a child cry as the force of his strike collided with her own. Although she had readied and centered herself to withstand the onslaught of such a fierce blow she couldn't hold it for more than a moment before she was thrown across the courtyard. Not wanting to harm the onlookers she stuck one of her blades in the cobblestones to stop herself from going any further. She had still been forced back several yards away from her opponent. That is what normal men have died from, she thought, one strike like that could go through someone like they were fruit on a cutting board.

Elegra felt the vibrations still from the block in her arms as she pulled her blade from the cobblestone ground. She spun each blade once in each hand as she bared her teeth at him in a sort of feline way. She did not like being thrown around so easily.

She walked back towards him at a determined pace, a look that most men see before their demise on her face. She was truly a beautifully frightening creature. She would raise her blades to meet his as she was sure he would do, and she would deflect his blows down her blades as to divert them from their original path. She knew that every blow she would deflect it would cause her to be forced back so she kept on pushing. Her blades moving high and low, swiftly and in a blur of motion, using every opening she could to her advantage to only scuff his midnight armor. This head on approach would only get her so far... And she knew that.

"I'm impressed." Ortega stated, folding his arms over his chest as he watched the two combatants go head to head. "I don't know about you, but Haine's enemies don't last this long against him at all. Usually, they are down by the first strike." He watched Haine's greatsword slam hard against Elegra's blades, knocking her almost all the way across the courtyard. He whistled in amazement, watching her shake the trembling out of her arms before she charged in on her own, dancing with her swords against the mighty warrior.

"...And she even blocked his blow." Ortega smiled, watching the battle with renewed interest. "Amazing!" He started clapping in amusement, almost ready to root for the amazon warrior. "Narsissa, she's fantastic!"

As the combat raged on, Haine's blood continued to boil, his heartbeat getting faster and faster. He didn't slow down at all- in fact, he sped up. There was no doubt to the others that Haine was a berserker, a warrior whose purpose was to go all out and die in combat, using their full strength and ability to take down the enemy. Haine was no exception, his heavy slashes and brutal moves coming in fast and powerful, and it was incredible that Elegra was able to keep up with it all. She managed to meet with his tenacity, and although his heavy blows would knock her back she would keep on coming. As far as he was concerned, Haine wouldn't be able to get to her at the rate they were fighting.

However, the same could most likely be said for her.

Her blades hit more than his, but they consistently scraped harmlessly against his armor, unable to get a full slash in before his heavy swing would catch up, quickly putting her on the defensive. There would be no way she could hit one of the small weaknesses in his armor or a vital spot with the way he fought, his offensive becoming a perfect defense. At the same time, he could successfully relatiate- there was no way he was actually going to hit her unless he took a hit himself.

Which was glad to trade.

Suddenly, in the mist of their quick pacing, Haine took a deliberate wrong step. Elegra's blade would soon find its first fresh taste of blood, the sharp blade slicing out and cutting into his cheek. Blood splattered into the air, but that was what Haine was willing to sacrifice. He pressed in, his body incredibly close to hers, his sword held out with one hand. She was too close to hit with a swing of his sword, but she was also too close to be able to dodge or guard successfully.

"Gotcha." He growled. Unable to use his sword, Haine instead threw out a powerful, armored punch, aiming for the only opening that her blades couldn't protect- her right side. He could only spin into it a little bit but the fist still sped through the air, the blow strong enough to pound her body. Even with her amazonian armor, Elegra would definitely feel it, the armored knuckles too strong for her armor to block the impact.

Elegra stepped in the the flow of the fight easily, matching his pace with her own. Though this battle seemed to be never ending she kept pushing. Her eyes were now almost pure gold and burning with a liquid fire that only she felt underneath her skin. This what the heat of battle that kept her going in the most dire situations, it helped her mind to stay clear and focused as well as looking forward and planning the next move of her opponent.

That flow halted abruptly when one of her blades struck Haine's cheek with a clean slice, a light mist of blood landing on her own cheek and neck, mixing in with her hair as well. The only word that she could think of to describe her at this moment was surprised. She hadn't thought her blades would ever find blood at this rate but there it was staining her blade as well as his face. Why? was the only thing she was able to ask herself before the air around them shifted and the blue color of his eyes blazed with a white fire. She could have sworn he said something but she was more concerned with the fist coming at her. There was no place to go, his long deadly sharp sword was to the left of her and her blades at an awkward position, she couldn't go down for he might hit her face. It was too late anyways.

The blow seemed to crash against her like a wave, radiating from her right side all throughout her body. Knowing it was better to go with the punch rather than against it she let her body be pushed to the side and to the ground. She rolled several times away from Haine before she stopped and took a deep breath, one that was hard to do. She slowly but surely got her feet back under her and picked up her fallen blades, gritting her teeth all the while. The throbbing from her side would be bearable for now, maybe not so much once the adrenaline wore off but she could stand, that was always a good sign.

"Snake." she said more to herself.

When Elegra was thrown to the ground Narsissa glanced at Ortega, "No one has ever been able to do that to her, I can tell you that my friend." she stood and stepped forward, "Alright!" yelled the powerful priestess, the women and children around the courtyard immediately stopped their shouting and looked upon their leaders face, some even giving protest to the stop of the fight.

"I think we have all seen how mighty not only our own warriors are but how great our neighboring lands are too." she walked forward to set her hand on her daughters shoulder, "And we should rejoice, for the pact that we have made with them will give us many strong warriors in the years to come!" and with that she took her daughters hand, dragging her closer to Haine, taking the same hand he had punched Elegra with by the wrist and raised them over her head.

The crowd cheered in victory, their voices thanking the goddess and their Priestess, but Elegra did not feel victorious. She felt as if this were the beginning of many fights in the future and she didn't like it.

Elegra ripped her hand from her mothers and stalked off towards the sidelines, Liza, needless to say was her best friend was already walking towards her to take her blades from her. Using Liza to block her view from Haine she slowly took off her dented armor, good thing she used her spare. "Liza! Don't pull that hard." she complained in their native tongue, "I'm going to be bruised for a month. But at least he will have a scar for life." she said with a slightly satisfied smile.

Liza simply shook her head and continued to take off the metal armor, "Your two were like a whirlwind of steel. It was truly amazing to watch. Be careful around him Elle. He is so strong that I think he could hurt someone by simply hugging them to tightly." she said with a small smile finally slipping off the armor.

Pariestess Narsissa let go of Haine's wrist as Elegra took her's from her. She folded her arms in front of her and studied the two, "Well, I think that went well." she said more to herself than to the others around her. The women were already dispersing from the square, off to do whatever chores that needed to be done, lighting torches for the fast disappearing sun over the horizon.

The blow may not have been 100% of his strength, but it was definitely solid. He felt his dig into her side, her armor doing very little against the full power of the blow. The armor had easily dented from the impact, the follow-through from his punch sending her to the ground. He watched her do a quick roll, climbing back onto her feet like he had expected her to. She was too strong for one of his blows, and he knew that she'd be able to shake it off. Haine ignored the burning in his cheek, feeling the warm liquid stream down his skin and down his neck. She had cut him pretty deep, but it wasn't something that he would let hinder him. They both made a mark on each others bodies, and that was enough.

He readied his battle stance, raising his large sword in front of him. Fueled by the burning rage of the battle, he had no idea that the fight had been called off until the priestess walked between them, waving her hands to signal that the fight was over. Frowning, Haine straightened, swinging his sword to clip onto his back.

"Damn." He growled quiet. "Just a little longer..."

"Not bad, Black Knight." Ortega called from the side. "You took quite a big cut, but landed a blow on one of their best warriors. Too bad I couldn't watch her kick your ass even more." The large man grumbled, turning to say something before his hand was snatched by the priestess to be raised above her head. The amazons all cheered in unison, speaking in their strange tongue, most likely praising their goddess.

When his wrist was finally released by the priestess, Haine stomped his way over to Ortega, putting no effort to hide the frown from his face. "This isn't over..." He growled to himself, clenching his hand into a fist. "I won't forget this..."

Something soft landed onto his face, and Haine quickly reached out to snatch a small white cloth. Glancing left to right, he spotted a young amazon girl before she disappeared into the crowd, making eye contact with her a second before she disappeared.

"Looks like you made a fan." Ortega chuckled, placing his hand on Haine's shoulder. "That was a wonderful display. Surely they were impressed with your fighting ability, and we're now that much closer to achieving our goal." Silently, Haine raised the cloth to his face, having it soak up the blood from his cut.

"Priestess, that was excellent." Ortega smiled, making his way over to Narsissa. "But it has indeed been a long day... shall we call it a night?"

Elegra sighed in frustration, she could have finished that, thought of some way to knock the big block of dark armor out. But she would have to wait for now. Many of her fellow warriors were coming up to pat her on the back. Most were far more seasoned warriors than herself, it was by far a large complement to be recognized for her skills and years of training.

"He would have fine children, you and him would be the greatest children Floria has ever seen." said one woman, the lines of age showing on her features.

This shocked Elegra, "Him? That brute?"

Many of the women around her nodded, including Liza.

Elegra frowned and crossed her arms, "Never, not even if the Goddess herself commands it."

The women around her only laughed and continued on with their gossip and praise, oblivious to how serious Elegra was. She couldn't stand the man let alone think about them like that. Liza noted her discomfort and lazily threw an arm around Elegra and dragged her over slowly to where her mother and Ortega stood.

Narsissa almost didn't hear the man as he approached, "Hmm? Oh yes." she turned to face him and smiled, "Of course, you men need your sleep. I have some preparations to make before you are to head off in the morning. Get the women ready and supplies. Much to do if you would like to leave tomorrow. I know the war is a pressing matter." she noted and rubbed her temple with her fingertips, even the notion of war caused her mind to hurt for the simple fact that she knew that some of her people would die as the result, but she pushed that out of her mind.

"I assume you remember your quarters from when you were here last?" she asked ready to give him directions to the east wing of their temple, where there was a library, study hall, smaller dinning room and the spare bedrooms that were kept for guests, they were simple and small but had anything that would be needed.

Elegra and Liza walked up still several feel away to Narsissa and Ortega but said little to them, simply waiting for their mother and priestess to finish before asking what they could do to help.

Elegra kept her eyes on Haine as if drilling this moment into her head. This was uncharted territory for Elegra, that territory being interacting with a man and not being able to best him in battle. Wind pulled wisps of hair in front of her face but she did nothing to move them. By the goddess she didn't like where this situation was going but she was most likely going to be stuck with him for a while so she might as well get used to the feeling.

"Yes, I can't forget." Ortega answered, placing his hand on priestess Narsissa's shoulder. "I'd like to thank you again for your help. Your forces will indeed aid us in this war, but I will make it my best interest to keeping your troops alive. Every one of your amazon warriors is equal to ten of mine, and I understand that each of them are daughters of Floria. You have my word that I will try my best to bring them back home safe and sound." Ortega gave her a reassuring smile before turning his attention onto Elegra who was standing just a few feet away.

"Elegra, was it?" Ortega smiled, making his way over to the female warrior. "Amazon, you were brilliant! I had great fun watching you combat the big brute. Hopefully that cut you gave him will remind him to be less reckless in a fight next time, hm?" Haine answered back with a quiet snarl, turning his eyes to glare back at the redheaded amazon.

"Though I am not much of a warrior myself anymore, you have my respect." He lightly bowed his head, reaching his hand to shake Elegra's in a firm, masculine grip. "You're as capable as they come, Elegra."

He nodded to the blonde and turned over to Haine, who was standing idly just a few feet farther back. "Alright, Black Knight. It is time for us to turn in. We have quite a bit of travel tomorrow, and the battlefield isn't too far away." Haine, still holding the cloth to his face, made his way over to Elegra, standing above her as he stared down at the amazon.

"This isn't over." He said bluntly, icy blue eyes glaring. "Both you and me know that. We'll fight again, amazon." He couldn't help but let a little smile at the prospect- the fight with her was fun, but a fight to the death with her? He couldn't contain a little excitement at the thought.

With that, Haine followed after Ortega, his black cloak swaying heavily from side to side his his steps, his large greatsword hanging comfortably from his back.

The priestess gave Ortega a weak smile, before letting it fall from her face, "I know you will Ortega." she responded, this was always the hardest part for Narsissa, preparing her people to go off to battle. But it is what must be done, to save her world.

And she was off commanding women left and right, telling them what to do as well as when they needed to be done. She was a gorgeous leader and it suited her for she had the goddess guiding her hands and words. By dawn the amazonian women would be ready for battle. They had to be. Elegra watched as her mother went off, the role of the leader of their village was something that she always admired about her mother. And on day it would be her turn. She dreaded that day. Ortega blocked Elegra's view of her conducting mother and she looked upon him with a smile, it was very easy to like this man, he always seemed to be smiling and doing whatever he could to make a situation go in the right direction.

"Thank you, Commander Ortega. I do hope that he learns his place a bit better." she told him with a small chuckle as she looked to Liza whom was also smiling. Taking Ortega's hand in a firm grip of her own she bowed her head to him in a sign of respect, after all she was going to be riding out with him soon. But that smile was snatched away as soon as Haine's blue eyes landed on her, "During battle I shall only fight those who need to be put down. And you are on the last of that list, not worthy to die by my hand. That would be far too good for you, snake."

Liza's eyes widened at Elegra when she spoke those words, but Elegra simply shrugged her questioning off saying that they had to get to sleep before her mother commanded them to clean something. And so the night began, everyone but warriors that were to leave the next day was to stay up and help prepare while the warriors were to get a good nights rest. But as for Elegra that good nights rest would not come as easy as the rest of her people, a pair of ice blue eyes peered at her through a mist in her dreams causing her to toss and turn.

While her daughter slept Priestess Narsissa had done all she could before going to her own chambers to rest for a mere couple of hours before the sun peeked over the horizon. But as if restless nights ran in the family, the priestess too found deep sleep hard to come by. Although for her it was a matter of conscious that was weighing on her soul, she would have to remedy it before the chance passed. Rising from her plush bed and tying a long black robe around her the Priestess started down the halls of the temple. Her fingertips drifted along the stone as she walked and her hair was wild and untamed but never the less she looked as regal as if she meant to get up before dawn and seek the person she must talk to.

She stopped in the east hall, knowing which room was Ortega's, and rested her hand against the wood and taking a breath before opening it. For once the confident priestess questioned herself, was she really to tell Ortega her worries right before battle?

Yes, she had to.

She opened and closed the door softly slipping across the stone floor as if she was made of smoke. She watched his figure breath slowly for a moment before she gathered up the courage to place her hand on his arm and shake him softly.

"Ortega." she whispered in a soft voice, her dark green eyes glittering in the moonlight.

Making their way towards the guest rooms, Haine's bloodlust had finally disappeared, the pain fully throbbing on his cheek. It wasn't the most grievous wound, and he certainly had many more serious injuries in the past, but the fact that he came from the blade of that amazon... that made it hurt much more. Haine growled quietly, pressing the now bloodied cloth to the cut, applying much more pressure. This wound would heal, but it would never fully disappear- he would have to wear it as a reminder, a mark of the fight he had. Silently, he swore to himself that he would leave a mark on the amazon the next time they would scuffle...

"...I would offer to fix that up for you," Ortega stated, looking over at his comrade. "But you don't let anybody touch you."

"I don't need help." Haine remarked coldly, his armor clinking with every step. "Not yours, not the amazons. I can do it myself." The two continued silently to the small guest rooms, opposing one another. Opening the door, Haine frowned at the incredibly small size of the bed, space, and just about everything in the room. Growling to himself, Haine started the long process of taking off his armor.

The sound of metal unclipping could be heard outside of the room, followed heavy thumps on the floor from his plating. Soon, he was wearing just thin black trousers, his massive and ripped body completely revealed. His body of steel was decorated with numerous battle scars, small scrapes and lines lightly carving into his body. With that, Haine laid his back down onto the small bed, having to fold up his body before closing his eyes.

---

Hearing something, Ortega's eyes lightly fluttered open, the older man sitting up in his sheets. His armor was in a heap in the corner, and although he was aged, his body was still fit for a warrior. "Hm?" He blinked his eyes, peering over into the moonlight. That voice... he recognized it.

"Priestess?..." He asked, yawning quietly. "What are you doing at this time of night?..."

Narsissa smiled softly at the rousing commander and she sat on the edge of the small bed next to him tucking a long red lock salted with white behind her ear. And for a moment she said nothing to answer his question but locked her eyes with his and searched them for a moment. She did not search his soul not like she had with Haien, but simply brushed against his with her own. She felt the weight of what it was like to be a Commander sent with something so important, but a spark of hope flamed before her before she broke the contact and looked out the window. Ortega might feel her own soul too but she would never know what he would feel from her.

She pursed her lips, a nervous habit that she only did behind closed doors, "Why do you call me Priestess?" she asked, "We have known each other now for many years, formalities are not needed behind closed doors." she sighed, she was avoiding the subject.

She lightly brushed the back of her cool fingers against Ortega's cheek lightly before letting her hand fall back into the lap of her black robed legs. "I came at this early hour to tell you something that I think you must know..." her courage slipped from her grasp yet again, "You know you were a very sought after man in your prime Ortega." she told him pulling on a loose thread of her robe, "But I had the luck of having you in my bed." she looked at him, the corners of her eyes fanning out in small delicate wrinkles as she smiled.

Ortega sat up, his eyes still adjusting to the dimly moonlit room. His older bones ached a little, stretching out his arm to feel a few satisfying pops, light scars visible on his skin. Blinking his eyes, he shifted his eyes over to the priestess. Indeed, it had been a long time since he had come here, and he reflected on a time when he knew Narsissa much more personally... still, that had been long ago, and many years had passed. Tilting his head to the side, he felt a crack vibrate in his neck, still trying to wake himself up.

"I apologize Pri- I mean, Narssisa." Ortega smiled, reaching his hand up to scratch the back of his head. "It has indeed been a long time since we've met... I'm finding it a little difficult to be as personal as we had once been before." Ortega reached up his hand to rub at his eyes a little, attempting to brush off the sleepiness that hung on top of his eyelids.

Ortega gave the priestess a quizzical look, slightly cocking his head in curiosity. What was she getting at? "Indeed, it was a very passionate night." Ortega chuckled, recalling the wonderful times. "So, what are you trying to tell me? Is something the matter? Does it have something to do with our little treaty?"

Narsissa sighed, "No, my friend, our treaty is what it should be. Everything should almost be ready for the morning." she looked at the sleepy man before her, all trace of her smiles gone, "I wanted you to know that Elegra is most likely your daughter Ortega. There is no overlap with any other man... Elegra does not know of this and I feel that is not my place to tell her." she took his hand and held it tightly, "Take care of my daughter, this is a grand war Ortega, war that even the Goddess fears for." she gave his hand a squeeze. Her heart sped up slightly as she held his hand, the emotions getting the best of her as she sat before the man that she had made a child with and was now sending that child off to a war that was far greater than her people.

And with that she left his room as silently as she came, her black robe trailing after her in a shifting shadow, her thoughts spinning to thoughts of the future and what was to come of her people... But she had faith, in her people, goddess, and most of all that the world would right itself.
