Curtis sighed, reading the first book in the series 'A Song of Ice and Fire', known as 'Game of Thrones'. It was his favourite TV Show, so he had gone to a book shop and spent the last of his allowance on the bookset to entertain himself while he waited for the TV show to return next year.
The boy was a fifteen year old orphan, one of the most unattractive things on earth. Unattractive to parents, wanting to adopt a child. Unattractive to girls his age, as he never even had a girlfriend. It was a sad, lonely life that he had, so it had been a shock when he was notified that a parent would be adopting him. And not just any parent, but HIS parent. Yes, Curtis' mother or father would be coming to take him home at last.
One side of him was excited; at long last, he would have a home, and meet his parents. He would have a happy life, and be a normal kid. On the other side, he was angry; he lived a lonely life for 15 years, so what took her so long to get him?
--
One of the staff members of the orphanage was escorting his mother to his door. "Now, I'll describe your son to you. He's a little shorter than average for his age, he has short brown hair, blue eyes, and rectangular glasses. The boy is a bit quiet too, but we don't know why." the woman told the boy's mother. The door opened, and the mother was let inside, with the door shutting behind her. Curtis, upset at his mother, kept his back to her, waiting for her to speak and explain why she never came and got him.
