"Princess" The man across from the young woman spoke up rousing her from her sleep. It had been a long time since she had seen her home. She yawned softly glancing out of the heavily tinted window of the SUV. Recently the day's had started to blend together and coupled with jet lag and lack of adjustment she couldn't wait to see her parents and family. She just knew they would be pleased with her. Genesis Young was the next in line to inherit her Mother's crown, and as her first diplomatic act she went to settle scores among those her family had wronged. The Youngs were not the kindest of royalty having claimed their throne through battle and blood shed. In their wake they left a lot of broken families and hatred for themselves, but few questioned them since they had ruled so soundly since acquiring the throne 4 generations ago. The Princess was only 23 years old and stood at five feet and seven inches. She had the light brown skin tone of her mother and her father's deep green eyes. Her hair was in curls as always but had been done just the day before. She liked to be comfortable when she traveled and since it was fall in the country side she wore blue jeans and a black long sleeved shirt that hugged her chest and torso. Instead of her contacts she choose to wear her glasses.
Her green eyes drifted to her guard, Bernard, he had watched over her since she was just a young girl. A single glance from her big eyes and he knew just what to say. "It is late. The sun will be setting soon. I'm sure your mother will be up waiting for you though." He smiled reaching for a cases in his pocket. He handed her the cases that held her glasses and she placed them on. She nodded and watched as they passed by the lake. Since being gone she saw that the land was green and full of life, she had been told that there was a lot of rains bring the land back to life.
"I sure hope you're right. When we last talked she sounded really sad." Genesis smiled pushing her hair out of her face. The SUV came to a slow stop. "Driver. Is everything okay?" She asked. He frowned not saying anything to the Princess at first. Watching as a few men approached his side. Slowly he rolled his window down to see what the problem was. No words were exchanged only gun fire. First the driver and then the guard in the passenger seat.
It all happened so fast but Bernard was always on his toes. He jumped from his seat grabbing Genesis and leapt from the back seats to run for safety, but didn't get further than a few feet. The Suv was surrounded by men guns trained on the Bernard and the other guard. Genesis hidden behind them both.
