James Clark slowly waled around the classroom, his eyes scanning the students as they took their weekly test. The history instructor was one of the most liked teachers of the high school. If the students studied and gave it their best, he always graded on a curve. But heaven forbid they were slack... He would nail their butts down.
As he looked from one student to the next, his eyes scanned across the room again, falling on his favorite student. Watching her he hid his sigh. He had noticed her the first day of class. Only two months into the school year he had grown to know Emma, talking to her and learning about her. having taken the time to look at her school record, he had learned she was one of the top of her class, but she did have some problems at home.
"!4 more minutes," he said moving to the front of the class, "If you are done then bring your test up and you can go to lunch." That was one of the things he did like about this class. being the last class before lunch he sometimes let them go early. He knew that students didn't get long to eat so didn't mind letting them go early on test days. Leaning against the desk, he let his eyes rest on Emma once more before having to look up to deal with the first student that were finished.
