Four hundred years and some change. Sitting at his large oak desk Alexander Night realized he'd been walking the earth for just a little over four centuries. He came to this realization as he looked over the name of his newest possible bartender, Gwendolyn Faye Ailey. It was a name that had a certain amount of age to it. Just the way it was pronounced and spelled. Running his index finger and middle finger along his temple he sighed a bit. The last few interviewee's had been a complete waste of time. Given his age, Alex had amassed a huge fortune by collecting things the found interesting which turned out to be priceless artifacts today. When he'd purchased them, they were merely a few copper pieces and now they were millions of dollars. Amazing what a few centuries could do.
During that time, he'd also managed to secure hold of a rather large manor, thirty six bedrooms, equal to that plus one bathroom, hundred of acres of land around it and a few other smaller houses as well. All in his name and used for his Coven. Vampires, like their rivals the Lycan's, lived in large groups but while Lycan's lived in packs, Vampires lived in Coven's. With that money he not only bought a house but he also built this club from the ground up, designing it after having been to his fair share of night clubs. The club was three floors, the very top floor was his office, massive in size and the entire floor was made of the same material as an airplane window. Thick, very strong glass that he'd be able to see the crowd below, as well as his workers. However if one were on the floor below and looked up, they'd see a mirror. The second floor of the club was dedicated to hip hop and R&B since it was the more popular of the genre's of today.
This floor, like the bottom floor, had the bar right in the center of the floor. A complete three hundred-sixty bar that held about fourteen bartenders for maximum attention to the patrons. The V.I.P was in an elevated area of the club and it wasn't cheap getting to the area but it was like it's own little club in itself. Sound proof walls and floors as they could choose their own music. The mini bars held one bartender who would only serve them as well. Tables, booths and chairs were along the outer edges. Same for the bottom floor but that was dedicated to Rock, punk, techno and all those other darker genres for the gothic and punker community. Satisfying two huge genres in one building drew in a huge crowd and even bigger profit which was why his club was second in the state for most popular and most successful. It was also the reason he needed so many staff members. Most of the staff were vampires from his coven but a few here and there were humans he had come to trust.
The pay was amazing and the job was always fun. His employees were loyal to him because of this but it made him uneasy when hiring new members. When he got word that Gwendolyn Faye Ailey had arrived he ran a hand through his shoulder length raven black hair and smoothed it back into a tight pony tail as was his usual style of wearing his hair. Straight and silky soft, his hair had gone through a multitude of styles of the years, this was just the current one. His attire today was the same as the other nights, the tie was the only real difference. Midnight black silk dress shirt and tailored black pants with black leather dress boots. His tie tonight matched his eyes. Ice blue, so light in color they were almost white. The secretary outside his office was one of his personal guard in his Coven. She was a sweet female, very shy in normal conversation but deadly in a fight. She'd informed 'Lynn' that she could go in and when the door opened Alex stood up.
Standing at six feet three inches and weighing in at one hundred ninety four pounds he was built like a runner. Toned and taunt, not big and bulky. His shoulders were nice and square, chest was broad and strong. His arms while not huge, still held definition in his suit jacket and as he walked over to her, the tightness of his thighs as he walked showed that he was very strong in the legs as well. Offering her a hand he smiled and nodded.
"Miss Ailey. Pleasure to meet you. Please take a seat."
He said as he motioned to the chair. Walking back to his desk his nose picked up on an odd scent but given today's perfume variety he just ignored it. It was pleasing yes, but nothing he couldn't handle.
As he sat back in his chair he looked over her attire. Casual with a certain professionalism to it. She had the body to rock anything whether it was slutty and sexy or professional which was a nice attribute to have in one's arsenal. Looking over her resume he noticed she seemed to have a bit of bar-tending experience. However he wasn't interested in how long she'd been making drinks, he wanted to know how she treated her patrons, the way she approached a job and her loyalty to the job.
"Well Miss Ailey. You certainly have a nice resume. However what I would like to know is how do you approach your patrons so that they know you care about helping them? In today's night clubs, the noise and the constant barrage of people calling for drinks makes it hard to focus on one individual which can make them feel ignored, how do you handle that? My club here is a family of sorts. Many of the workers here have been here since it was opened. I expect loyalty. Not the mentality of a popular thing to brag about and a good paycheck."
He said as his ice blue hues focused on hers. His eyes never left hers. Her body was nice but that's not what she was there for and Alex wasn't lacking when it came to his own seduction skills. He was interviewing her for a job, not his bedroom.
