Hello!
So it turns out that the writing bug has managed to sneak back into my life a bit. With it came the urge to create my own thread on BMR. Welcome to such thread.
First I'd like to say that I have fairly high expectations when it comes to my roleplays. While that may come off as a bit elitist, I've learned throughout my various roleplay engagements that when I feel like things have dipped below what I expect in terms of quality, I sort of check out. That being said, I also believe that one should never ask for what they can't give. I'm not the best writer by any means, but I do put forth a decent effort and all I ask is that my partner(s) do the same.
As the title states, I'm seeking long term roleplays. I feel like the best roleplays involve good character development and while some may have pulled it off, I personally don't think a character can be developed fully without investing some time into them and the world they inhabit.

Wanted Not Needed
Plots and Settings - Ordered by Craving
Star Wars - Rival Bounty Hunters/Smugglers (Non-Jedi)
Modern/Near Future - Gang Warfare
Super Heroes - Powerful Costumed Vigilantes (Current Day)
Finally, I should mention that my list is nowhere near exhaustive. If my thread prompts an idea we might both enjoy, feel free to share.
If you've read this far and you're interested, go ahead and shoot me a PM!

Expectations - Writing
A minimum of around 90% spelling/grammatical competency. I understand that very few of us are going to be correct every single time, however we're all adults here. Half of this stuff we should have had down before we even left high school and the few things that are confusing are usually a quick Google Search away.
I believe in quality responses. That means lengthy (three paragraph minimum), but not padded with filler. It sounds vague at first, until you remember the times when you've BS'd the hell out of some writing. You know when you're doing it. It doesn't make for good roleplay. If you're not feeling it, it's best to share that. We can either try to fix it, or part ways. I promise I won't have any salt in my heart.
We all have lives. Also, all of our creative sides move at different rates. Some of us are a little more nitpick-y about each individual post. Whatever the case may be, post rates can and will vary. Multiple posts a day are great, but that isn't always possible. I do however require (and well requite) one post per day or so as a minimum. There are definitely exceptions to this rule, but I typically find too much of a gap between posting to be disengaging.

Expectations - Roleplay
I'm a guy and I like to roleplay with women. I also only do MxF pairings.
PMs > Threads > E-Mail. I don't like IM and aside from maybe OOC, I won't use it.
I am a 55% Story / 45% Smut sort of guy. I believe a proper adult roleplay will naturally balance mature situations on its own. Violence happens. Action happens. People try to fuck each other. People fall in love. People fall out of love. People get hurt. People get pushed outside of their comfort zones. However absolutely none of this happens for no reason. Smut is great, but if it feels really forced and unnatural in the context, I'm not down.
No Godmoding allowed. I may allow some degree if I consider the character to be minor enough, but even then it must be discussed with me first. This also includes omniscience. We know shit our characters don't. Unless it's revealed to them in some in-character way, I prefer to maintain that barrier. RP101.
I believe OCs are life. I exclusively write for original characters and I only roleplay with other people's OCs. Using known characters as a source of inspiration is fine, we all do it and I am in no place to tell you what to be inspired by. This also includes close relations to known characters. I'm not interested in an adventure involving Commander Shepard's step-sister. Hell, I'm not even trying to hang out with her cleaning lady. No offense to fandom-ers and shippers, it's just not my cup of tea.
I don't do kids. 18 is the absolute minimum for a character involved in anything sexually and even then that's a stretch.
I only play and play with human/VERY near-human characters. I feel like I needed to add that distinction. There may be exceptions, but odds are if a character can't throw on a hoodie and at least somewhat pass as an average joe on the street, it's probably a bit too out there for me.
Most other things are covered in the F-List: https://www.f-list.net/c/captain%20commander
Feel free to ask any questions about that. I'd hate to have to pump the brakes on a roleplay because things went sideways.

Wanted Not Needed
A partner who can play multiple characters. Not necessarily "main" characters, but maybe a few B-characters who pop in every so often if it's appropriate.
Plots and Settings - Ordered by Craving
Star Wars - Rival Bounty Hunters/Smugglers (Non-Jedi)
Set around the year 50 BBY on Nar Shaddaa. There are an infinite number of circumstances that could lead to our characters' reluctant alliance. Very open to brainstorming on this scenario. However I would prefer if you were at least somewhat versed in the Star Wars universe. I surely don't know everything so I won't expect you to, but wookieepedia is a very nice source!
Modern/Near Future - Gang Warfare
Set in the 2018 in the fictional coastal city of Blackport. A moderately sized city home to around 350,000 residents and with areas ranging from the poverty-stricken to seven-figure homes being the norm. For years the city has been owned and operated by the four major gangs. Each of the big four have a sizable portion of the city they call their own and while smaller upstarts have popped up over time they have rarely made much of an impact and tended to fizzle out on their own. In mid 2017 a new gang arose from what seemed like thin air, with absolute force.
Our characters would each be a Lieutenant in one of the original four gangs. Each of us would be running small squads from our respective gangs in a surprise raid on a stronghold of the fifth gang. The surprise would turn out to be an ambush intended to draw out high-ranking members of the opposing squads.
This one could use a little bit of polish and of course I'm open to brainstorming on this as well.

Super Heroes - Powerful Costumed Vigilantes (Current Day)
Power-wise think along the lines of Spiderman or Captain America. They're both technically super human, but not super-duper human. I'm thinking a hero/reluctant sidekick dynamic could go very well here. Characters who are initially doing their own thing, but eventually form a team and the more experienced of the two sort of naturally slots into the leader role. Let's brainstorm on this too.
