Genesis
Genesis was scared, Zane hadn't responded for a few moments and when he finally did it was almost shouted. It startled the changeling at first, before he could hear his lover's voice in his head.
I can't hear you.. If Genesis had a heartbeat it would have stopped with those words. Panic filled his chest as he thought back how everything was going to be fine, how help would be there in ten minutes to make sure nothing was really wrong.
Giving the pureblood one quick kiss to the cheek, Genesis slipped from the confines of their bed and raced down to get his own phone. There was no way he was going to be using Zane's. He had even skipped the stairs completely, hopping over the railing in his haste. Once his own device was in his hand, help was on its way.
Half an hour later and the vampire doctor on call was looking over Zane. Genesis stood in the doorway, his arms crossed as he watched the woman intently. She had insisted that there was no
permanent damage, instead that it the younger vampires' ear would heal, albeit very slowly. Luckily there had been no permanent damage in his left ear, just the initial shock and ringing in his head had caused Zane to lose his hearing all together. With that gone, it was just his right ear that wouldn't be hearing anything soon.
"You're sure it'll heal?" Genesis asked for the millionth time. The doctor just sent him a look, apparently she was getting annoyed with having to answer him. Frustrated, the changeling brought his attention over to Bruce. "I want whoever called tracked down and beaten within an inch of his life." He demanded angrily, Bruce just nodded knowing in what kind of mood the vampire was in. The werewolf was going to take the device to an expert. Whoever had made the call was playing a dangerous game.
"Take it easy Gen, no use yelling at poor Bruce." Insisted a voice from down the hall, one familiar to everyone there. Raymond Pierce, still handsome and charming, walked into the room, his gaze sweeping over every occupant. "I see another woman got you into bed." He teased, the comment directed at Zane.
The pureblood, of lower status than Zane, rubbed his hands up and down Genesis' arms in an attempt to calm the ancient vampire. Genesis just scoffed, turning his head to the side childishly, but in a way attempting to do as Ray insisted.
With Zane patched up and his phone securely sealed away, both Bruce and the doctor left with the safety of the moon still in the sky, though barely. This lead to Ray insisting he'd have to stay. "To keep you and little Zane safe." He insisted.
That's how Genesis found himself sitting in his kitchen, three mugs on the table, and in the company of the two main men in his life…well, sort of. "Shouldn't you be home with Maia?" The changeling asked, eyebrow raising as he sipped from his own beverage.
"Maia is spending quality time with grandma, or was, and so I was free. Was on my way over when I saw all the fanfare outside." Ray replied, sitting across from him.
