Aishli, sat in her cage alone as usual as the slave owners came and went, she wondered who they were buying and selling if they were anyone she knew. "bah another slow day here..." she muttered to herself, she really didn't want a master, she wanted to escape, she was nineteen and had not seen the sun in four years. A guard opened her cage and dragged her out, it was time for the auction again. She snarled at the man and yanked back, but his grip was strong and she was put on the auction block.

The group of men gathered at the slave girl auction block where the usual type, bandits, scum, and wicked men only looking to fill on desire. It had only been a few short years after the world tore itself apart, plagues, famine on a global scale and then the war. The mid west still showed the scares of when the nuclear war heads fell, Darious was one of the lucky ones, and now Darious was walking up to the display of men bartering for a young girl with everything from food to guns.

Normally he would just leave them to there own vices, but when Darious looked up at the young girl he knew he couldn't ignore the plight that would fall upon her. The young man with a straight blade katana on his back, large hat hiding his eyes and his upper body covered in a sleeveless raven coat moved into the crowd. The auctioneer was about to close the deal on Ashli for 25 rifles, 155 rounds of ammo and a bottle of scotch when Darious threw a new offer on the table.

From inside his coat Darious pulled out a sack of cold coins and tossed it onto the auction block, with that gold any trader would be backed up and set up for the rest of their lives. Darious one good red eye looked around the group as they all moved away from him, greed filling their eyes. "SOLD TO THE MYSTERIOUS STRANGER!" screamed the auctioneer as he slammed down a rock to close the deal. Darious didn't say a word, he merely motioned for Ashli to join him. Not everyone was happy with Darious and soon someone tried to do something about it.

" YOU PUNK!* Screamed a man as he came running at Darious back with a large knife in hand, Darious merely removed his hat and tossed it in the air as his one red eye locked onto Ashli's. In less than a second it was over, Darious drew his straight katana the had a 36 inch blade and side stepped the man trying to stab him through the back. No one saw the blade fall as Darious's blade went through the mans neck, it was so quick all they could see was a young man in a graceful pose. A few seconds later the raiders head fell from his shoulders and his body fell to the ground.

Darious came back up into a normal standing position, then flicked his sword down by his side. The angry mob now grew quite and fear was heavy in the air. They just witness the skill of one of the last blade dancers and it was quickly decided they didn't want to see it again. They dispersed to leave him alone with Ashli. Darious merely picked up his hat and dusted it off and placed it back on his head, then he turned to Ashli.

" Come along before some other fool decides to die on my blade for you."

Aishli was about to take a small step towards the man when she saw a man calling the buyer a punk and stopped, the man weild a knife she watched while it seemed the buyer ddid nohing then suddenly he was in a graceful pose and the mans head was off. "what the hell? I didn't think anyone was that fast..." she thought to herself stunned. The head rolled near her and she sneered a disgusted and fearful look on her face.

Stepping past the head she reached the buyer and stayed a littl out of arms reach and loked around at the other men that were there some glared at her while others winked at her, she ignored them it wasn't easy but she managed.

She ran a tattooed hand through her spiked hair and sighed, "least I am out of my cage..." she thought to herself trying to look at the bright side of things, she didn't succeed in that.

Darious knew the these men would try to take anything they could, to challenge him in some way. Before that could happen he had to show the Ashli was now his. It was a far better deal for him to be her master cause he was to only thing close to a saint in this ruined world.

He quickly reached out and wrapped his arm around Ashli's waste and pulled her into him. His one good eye meet hers, his red eye seemingly looking into her soul as it looked like it was on fire. He spoke softly his voice sounding smooth and gentle, " Before anyone tries to throw you back into hell," Darious tighten up his arm around her waste but was gentle, showing he had the strength to break her easily. He slowly started to kiss her, deeply, his kiss was gentle and his tongue gently played with hers.

He would not admit to it, but he was glad he bought her, he wanted to have someone in his life. For so long Darious had been alone, finding nothing but violence and death. Now Ashli had entered his life weather both of them liked it or not. Thing should now become more exciting for them both.

Aishli looked at him and felt his arm wrap around her waist, she let out a small gasp of surprise. Before she could back away or anything he started to kiss her. Her eyes widening she squirmed a bit trying to break free, but life in a cage had provided almost no exercise and she could not.

Looking in his eye she shivered, his gaze seemed to penetrate any defense she had, like it could see the true side of her not the facade she put on almost everyday.

Darious felt Ashli struggling in his arms and in response he held her a bit tighter. His control was a gentle thing, a way to show dominance without being to physical or violent. All he wanted was a companion now, for there to me more in his life other than killing and violence. Only problem is is Ashli continues to struggle against him the other bandits will do their demist to justify a all out group attack on him.

He gently broke the kiss and looked her deep into her eyes with his only good red eye, he spoke in a gentle voice in a low tone, " I am not going to hurt you, but if you don't mind your place you will put us both at risk. Stop putting on this front and realize i am saving you."

Aishli glared at him for a bit and clenched her fists before relaxing them, "the last person who said that to me was the one who threw me in there." she whispered to him, as she eyed the group around them, some looked weak, others looked strong, "I do not trust you, but for now I will act the part of a 'happy' slave." she muttered to him rubbing her hand on a tattoo she had on her arm, she had quite a few tattoos in fact, everyone who asked how she got them she would never reply too, but there seemed to be some history behind them.

Ashli glare was meet with one of his own, but this was the cold glare of a killer. Darious was different than the other men she might have ever known, his face was cold and his eye seem to stare right into death itself. He spoke softly his voice sounding like silk, " I will show you the thing you need to know to avoid a cage forever. For now you are mine, get used to it and be glad your life will be better now."

Darious started to move towards the market, he was low on supplies and now he was feeding two.

Ashli followed him slowly, a shiver ran down her spine at his glare and his voice, this man was dangerous. If he did show her how to stay out of that damn cage she would be happy maybe even a little grateful. She didn't give her trust easily to anyone, after all when the war happened and her parents died she lived on the streets stealing what she needed to survive.

Darious kept moving into the market knowing that Ashli was right behind him, if shes smart she would stay close to him. The main market was filled with all shorts of vile human beings, women who looked like there suffering from a variety of diseases, men who smell and looked like that havent changed or bathed in years, and all of them where possibly and violently more dangerous than Darious would ever be.

Throughout the various shops Darious gathered the things they would need to stay out in the waste lands for a few weeks at least. 30 pounds of cured jerky, 30 pounds of flour and rice, a few apples for a treat, and most important 30 rounds of 9mm ammunition and several steel pipes. The entire time there where whispers among the colony members about him and Ashli. he blade dancer, the grim reaper of the wastes, the last of the neo spartans. The whispers also where about Ashli, how lucky to be a slave to such a man, what does a slave girl have that a free girl doesn't, and maybe she was special as well.

Ashli saw one man that had been following them for quite sometime now, she smirked as the man came close to her, looking for something to steal from her, he reached for her bracelet, bad move. Ashli leapt behind him twisted his arm behind his back spun him to face the other way and letting go of his arm she kicked him hard with a round house making him hit into a stall. She had apparently gotten her energy back. She glanced at her owner and ran a bit to catch up, "...dumb pickpocket..." she muttered to herself, she was much better then him in the art of stealth.

Granted Ashli managed to fight off one pathetic pick pocket, but it was clear what made her a slave in the first place. Due to her action several large men wielding some nasty weapons started to move towards Ashli, evil intent in their eyes. The only thing that stopped him was Darious

He dropped the stuff just in front of Ashli as he moved directly behind her. His hand came around and gently held Ashli close as he started to gently hold on of her breast. Darious spoke in a clear voice as a warning to them, " Touch my slave and i promise you that you will be buried where you fall." The men froze in their steps and thought for a moment, was the girl really worth it? They did the smart thing and backed down.

Darious picked up the supplies he bought and carried them like it was nothing, then turned his head back at Ashli. " Come, where leaving." Darious spoke in a clear and gentle tone, trying his best not to be to harsh with Ashli. He made his way with his supplies and his new girl to his bike parked near the gate of the survivor colony.

Ashli bit her lip, and kept her retort back as he grabbed a light hold of her breast. As she did so she filled with her bracelt the man tried to steal, it was nothing special, just a cheap metal small chain link bracelet with a crystal on it. She followed the man, "damn it, I could have taken at least two of those men, though in my stated more likely one. I have done it before..." she thought to herself and followed the man to the motorcycle, she didn't even know his name, but really didn't care, she just thought of him as hat man.

After a short walk to the gate Darious finally brought Ashli to his bike, well it was more like a trike made to run forever. Coming off the back of the trike was long panels of solar sails that powered the bike, they where placed to improve the aerodynamics of the trike as well as power it. Darious started strapping the supplies to the back of the trike, then pulled out a browning 1883 lever Acton 12 gauge shot gun and racked a round into the breech and placed it back.

Darious then mounted the trike and fired up the engine, making sure they would be able to get the hell out of dodge. He then looked back at Ashli and slowly offered his hand and spoke gently, " My name is Darious, come along before they try to throw you back in a cage."

Ashli looked at him before taking his hand, "names Ashliyasiya De Nara, call me Ashli." she replied as she got on his bike. "I made a mistake before, I do not intend to make that mistake again." she told him touching a tattoo on her right arm, and for a second had a sad look on her face.

As she got on the bike she suddenly wished she wasn't wearing a dres, but then again she didn't have a choice it was her only clothing now.

" Sometimes we make mistakes, and sometimes we pay for them. As you can see humanity made a huge mistake and is still paying for it. Now that you have a second chance with me we will make the most of it." As Darious spoke in a soft tone as he looked out at the land ahead of them. Before there eyes was a twisted and deformed skeleton of once was a major city, surrounded by hundreds miles of waste lands surrounding it. There is where Darious makes his living, there is where they will make their home. With a open reve of his trike Darious drove off into the setting sun of the wastes.

After a few long hours of bike riding Darious brought the trike to a stop at a abandoned house, it would do for shelter for the night. Darious was the fist to enter, a custom 9mm Beretta pistol in his left hand and his right on the hilt of his blade. After clearing the house and securing it he then signaled Ashli to go ahead and bring the rest of the weapons and gear inside. Darious set up camp and a fire, cooking some of the supplies and setting up a small CB radio to listen for job offers nearby. He gave a plate of food to Ashli and spoke gently yo her, " Rest up tonight and eat well, your training starts tomorrow."

Ashli brought the rest of the gear and weapons in, some she recongized, most she did not. She looked at the abadoned house it looked a bit familar to her, but then again most houses did now. "Humans did make a huge mistake and now innocents are paying for it..." she muttered rubbing the crystal on her bracelet. "Er training? What training?" she asked him after she had sat by the fire and was about to take a bite of the food.

" Yes training, your mine remember? You will learn what i have to teach and you will never have to worry about being in a cage again." Darious started to pull out the other weapons that where brought in, He set his lever action 12 gauge shotgun against the wall and set his hat on it. He then turned to the multiple guns that where brought in, all of them taken fro raiders her killed in the waste land.

He began to clean one of the 9 mm pistols that was in the group of weapons and tossed it to Ashli along with 4 clips. " Eat up now, trust me the food isn't bad."

Ashli caught the gun in one hand and the clips in her other, "I meant what type of training." she asked him as she put the gun next to her and started to eat her food ravenously.

Darious kept looking out the window as he slowly ate himself, keeping an eye out for any dangers that could threaten their little camp. Raiders, killers, scavengers, and other creatures to utterly horrid to mention where out there, waiting for a soft target. Finally he poke in a gentle voice, but in a serous tone.

" Combat training, survival training, and smithy training. I will teach to to be strong enough to avoid becoming the property of another who would use you up and kill you for the jolly of it."

Ashli nodded, "Sounds alright, I had some basic fighting training when I was in- well that doesn't matter, that was in the past." she muttered obviously hiding something. "Survival training, well that seems at times to be everyday...." she replied quickly changing the topic swiftly.
