"You're going to scare everything away if you don't pick your feet up." The woman who'd spoken low enough under her breath, but stern enough to make the man behind her slow his pace, didn't bother to glance over her scarcely clothed shoulder at him. Instead, she pinched her arrow tighter between her left index and middle finger, eyes narrowing in an attempt to see through the thick brush of the forest. "And you're not supposed to be out here," the man finally spoke back, his voice raised much too high to keep their presence hidden, sending a buck galloping in the opposite direction. "Alone." This time, his tone was much more brash, clearly meaning to rub her nose in he fact that she'd strayed far from their village without someone to accompany her.
Being the woman to the village's clan leader wasn't an easy task to deal with; especially when she'd been used as a bargaining chip between the clan she now resided in, and the one she'd originally been born into. It was that reason that made it so hard to escape the eyes of one of Basil's more trusted circle, even when she'd been trying hard to evade anyone's notice. But Hexia had a lot more to worry about than being followed whenever she wanted some privacy. Her complete lack of interest in becoming Basil's rag doll was usually the number one stress on her list, if it wasn't the fact that she still had to prove herself to most of the people there as a scout. Because of the deal that had taken part between her father and Basil, none of the men or women within her new village had a chance to see her blossom into the ruthless killer she actually was. So receiving flack from nearly everyone was growing on her patience quite a bit. And the fact that she couldn't physically do anything to shut them up most times, she had to attempt to bite her tongue and just ignore everyone.
Shifting her weight, Hex finally lowered her bow and turned so she could see Malice, one of the more well known hunters. As to why he'd tromped up behind her like that didn't make any sense because of his duty; he usually always walked with a silent pace. "Is that all you came out here to tell me? That I've strolled too far from the village walls? Verpiss dich." The lightly blond, almost white haired woman hissed in her native tongue, telling the man to fuck off as she narrowed her hazel eyes. Malice's face twisted at the strange insult, but he still took it in the sense in which she'd meant it - a negative one. His right fist balled, lips parting to try and scare her, possibly, but Hex just turned fully his way, flexing her jaw as she sized him up, making him feel smaller than what he actually was. "Who ever said that I was alone needs to work on their perceptive skills," she chimed before he'd had a chance to say anything. He closed his mouth, jaw tightening afterward, and he tilted his head, expecting an explanation. With a roll of her eyes, the woman began to give one. "Basil's right hand is in the brush, probably tailing the buck you just startled. Did you really think I'd be out here, hunting alone?" Hexia scoffed to show how moronic it would've been if that was actually the case.
"You could just be saying that so I'll leave you be," he started, stepping closer to her, right hand having relieved itself of its ball only to grip the hilt of his dagger. "And then you could escape." Another step was taken, placing him inches from her, his height causing Hex's chin to lift slightly to keep eye contact. Her eyes narrowed further than they had been already, eyebrows pinching together from the proximity in which he'd stopped moving at. "And give someone like you an excuse to hunt me down, and retract revenge for your fearless leader?" Malice's eyes dipped to her cleavage, exposed from the opening within her leather attire. Oh yes, her hunch had been completely correct. And she didn't doubt that his type of revenge would involve his lower appendage."You could try.." she trailed off, coy tone being cut short when he pushed her roughly up against the trunk of a tree, blade withdrawn and settled at the exposed skin of her hip. Inhaling deeply as the dagger dug into her skin, she bit back her wince, allowing the pain to fuel her glare. "Although, he might have an issue with where you want to put your 'knife'." Emphasizing the word knife, Hex nodded her head over Malice's shoulder towards the actual reason she'd hauled ass into the wilderness. But Malice didn't need to know that, now did he?
It'd be the end of both of them if Basil ever learned that she'd been sneaking around behind his back with his right hand, rather than remain in his presence to do her duties as his woman. But that was a risk Hexia's sex drive was very much willing to take.
