I started a thread a while ago, and while the thread was useful in my opinion, but now the conversation has mostly derailed into useless stuff, half of which seems to be people advertising their own threads under the mask of "Here is an example". Needless to say I have no real desire or need to read that.

Is there any way to stop having it show up with new posts from a thread that I created myself, or do I just have to wait for people to stop posting before I stop getting notifications? It isn't on my subscribed threads, just the "Your latest threads" section.

Thanks in advance.

If you go to your User CP, on the left hand side there is a miscellaneous section (below menu, messenger, and your profile sections). Fifth one down in the miscellaneous section is "subscribed threads." Click that and you can delete subscriptions.

Good luck.

Like I said, it ins't on my subscribed thread's list. It's on the "Your recent threads" section.

If there are new posts it'll show up. It shouldn't show up in your subscribed lists but if you created it, it will show up in your latest threads section saying that thread has new posts.

The thread will die. Don't worry over-much about it. I generally forget about "Your latest threads" section because I never really go to my user CP. I tend to go to messages to get to my subscribed threads list. Or anything else like that. Because that side that gives you all the options under User CP also shows up when you go to messages. Right off to the side.

So there's nothing I can do about it for now, that seems like a bit of an oversight in design to be honest, but I have an anwer now. Thanks Karameida.

Thing is, if you created the thread...the 'latest threads' section in your User CP will highlight any and all threads you have created if anyone posts to them. So, if you decide to create a thread for GD or BMA or even the Forum Games (and so on and so forth), it will be highlighted in 'latest threads' if someone chooses to post to it. This really isn't an oversight in design, it's a means to communicate to the thread creator that "hey, your thread has garnered some attention and people are actually posting to it." If you choose to subscribe to it, you will in fact receive further communications about postings (ie, you could receive an email and/or your subscribed threads will highlight.

Anyway, this question has been answered in spades. So, closing it down.
