Power man or Val-Zod as he's more commonly known among his people is a young Kryptonian of Vathlonian descent. An island continent mostly inhabited by other dark skinned kryptonians, existing outside the planetary federation. Vathlo Island is described in records as a "a developed sovereign state that retained its independence throughout history and did not join the planetary federation, though good relations were maintained". By the time General Zod came into power, Vathlo islands were annexed. All subsequent children born to the islands were given the surname Zod and assimilated into the empire, though regarded as somewhat less than other kryptonians.

Val-Zod was one of the last kryptonian survivors stowed away in escape pods when the planet ultimately met its demise. While on Krypton. He was briefly in the custody of Lara and Jor-El and was raised alongside Kal-El , the man who would take up the title as the first Superman of Earth. His pod landed somewhere in the Atlantic where he presumably surfaced near the coast and civilization. there was a bit of local news about the mystery boy who surname "King". He was around 5 or so at the time. Memories of krypton are hazy at best and appear occasionally.

T'Challa is the Black Panther, Former regent king of Wakanda, one of the most technologically advanced nations on Earth. He is among the top intellects of the world, a veteran Avenger, and a member of the Illuminati. Using his powers and abilities, he has pledged his fortune, powers, and life to the service of all mankind

• T’challa as a character is very complicated individual…he is duplicitous, arrogant but hardly showy or flashy, mysterious, pragmatic, regal, calculating, ruthless, humorous, noble but quite rogue-like, sometimes down right cold-blooded, even callous and brutal but always fair. He walks a fine line, you can say he's a pragmatic type who doesn't mind getting his hands dirty for the greater good.

He has “the worlds greatest poker face”, you are not supposed to know what he is thinking. He mostly holds back his emotions, his friends and teammates would be wary around him. He is the type of character that if Storm looked in his desk, or on one of his computers, he would have files on how to take down the X-men, the Avengers, Thor, her and so on. He spied on the Avengers and also set up and took out the Fantastic Four. This is a character who sunk the entire *world economy* without a second thought during his quarrel with Erik Killmonger. Stood totally emotionless when Doom was going to kill his wife.

Brutally humiliated Street-fighter Super Skrull and set up a trap that would end in the total annihilation of the skull force, then sent it back to the Skull home world for them to see, with the words “this is what happens when you invade Wakanda”. He is not some “perfect” “flawless individual…he is not the sort of character that lives in a world of black and white, right or wrong. T’challa is not a superhero, like Spiderman, Superman or even Batman. He exists in world of colorful shades of grey and intrigue. A warrior-king who is willing to do anything it takes to protect his kingdom's sovereignty and ensure their position…above pinnacle of human physical ability, a super-genius being considered one of the 8 smartest men in the world and one of the best fighters in the world. He also has superhuman senses and night-vision.
