A little something I've been curious about...

I doubt that it's anything important, but I've always wondered if there was a reason behind it. Occasionally, I see the little online/offline person shape on a post or in my buddy list indicate that someone is online. But then when I go view said member's profile, it says that there status is offline. Yet all the while, their last visited time matches the current time and updates every minute.

Is this a thing that other users experience? And if so, why does it occur?
