Luke Williams had just graduated from high school and was getting ready to head off to college. He'd been a bit of a goth and a geek too, having friends in both crowds. He'd dressed like the goths, but had a lot more in common with the geeks. He'd made really good grades and ended up graduating near the top of his class. His parents could afford his tuition, and he had good scholarships to help with the costs too. He chose a college near his older brother so that room and board wouldn't be costing him so much, though he did plan to pay his brother rent.
His brother was eight years older than him, so they hadn't exactly been close. With that much of an age gap, he'd just been kind of annoying to his older brother, and for the most part he had been ignored by him. Still, he was familiar enough that he felt good about going to stay with him. He figured he would give him a lot more freedom than their parents had at the very least. It wouldn't be quite as free as staying in a dorm might have been, but it was a step in the right direction. He was only eighteen though, so his brother might not let him drink and party, but he would have to find that out later.
He arrived by plane, since his brother lived about three states away from him and his parents. He had packed only a few bags, just bringing his clothes, his laptop, cellphone, and a few comic books and games. He figured he could pick up any new things he needed with the extra money he'd be saving on rent. He had just got off of the plane and was looking around for his brother, who was supposed to be picking him up from the airport.
