600 years ago in the jungles of Brazil, not far from the might Amazon River, stood the Temple of Ishtara. Those who worshiped this Goddess of fertility, love, war, and sex were known as Assurini. A simple, yet passionate people. They believed sex was a good thing and should be shared openly. The Assurini had no taboos about sexual desires. They believed sex was a way to bring people closer. Families within the Assurini people, shared sex with each other like breaking bread for dinner. It was common for fathers, mothers, daughters, sons and even grandparent, uncles & aunts to engage in sexual act with each other. Many a young maiden lost her virginity to the Rod of Ishtara before she was taken sexually by her family members. It was always a huge celebration when a girl came of age. The Rod of Ishtara was created by the high priest of Ishtara. This high priest was also a wizard of sorts. He created an amulet which contained the spirit of Ishtara herself. It was believed that someone worthy would come along and become the vessel for Ishtara's spirit so she could walk upon the Earth.
The Assurini's waited, but no one who came was ever worthy. Soon the Assurini's were wiped out after white men from acrossed the oceans bring illnesses they had no defense for. With Ishtara's worshipers gone, her temple was over taken by the jungle and lost for many years. Inside the temple, in the Tomb of Ishtara waited the amulet and rod. Slowly the years ticked by. Civilization grew in all parts of the world. The temple hidden until an archaeologist by the name of Charlies Morgan stumbled upon it. Charlies was a well respected member of the archeology community. He was an older man, in his late 60's when he found the Temple of Ishtara. Charlies had study the legend for years after hearing people speak of the tribe known as the Assurini. He brought his son Nicolas along, who was also a well respected member of the archeology community. Nick as he was called, was in his early 40's. He was the father of two, a son Michale who was 28 and his youngest a daughter Beatrice.
Beatrice, called Bea by her family and close friends, was an archaeologist like her father & grandfather. Bea and her father had a falling out after a dig in Egypt. Nick thought his daughter's choice of becoming an expert in erotic artifacts was unsuited for her. He expected more then that from his daughter. Bea was her own woman and wanted to make her own path. Bea was always supported by her grandfather. In fact, once the Temple of Ishtara was found, Charlies called his granddaughter and asked her to join him. He of course warned her that her father would be around, but he added that this find was right up her alley. Charlies explained the legend of Ishtara too his granddaughter and she was hooked. Soon, the pretty, yet shy and bookwormish girl was on a plane heading for Brazil. She was met at the airport by her brother Mike who became a medical doctor. He was serving as the doctor for the expedition. Mike drove Bea from the airport to a place where a boat waited for them. The siblings caught up on lost time during the boat ride down the Amazon River. It took almost three more hours before they reached the temple. It stood 60 feet and was almost 100 feet acrossed the base. A set of steps went up the front of the stone temple. At the top stood a structure also made of stone. Once inside the structure, stairs led down into passageways. These passageways led to chambers and one of these chambers was the Tomb of Ishtara.
Charlies greeted his granddaughter when she arrived. He filled her in on what had been found so far. Charlies was hoping that Bea could track down the tomb and find the hidden artifacts said to be inside. Nick came along shortly afterwards. He greeted his daughter with a hug, but they were still cold towards each other. Nick still believed Bea was wasting her time on erotic artifacts when she could do so much more. But, he said nothing about that. Nick didn't want to reopen old wounds. This was his father's operation and not his. Bea was here for what Charlies believed was the find of this century. Charlies gave Bea a map of the inside they created. It would help her in the passageways. He then asked a Brazilian worker by the name of Jose to be her guide. Jose would help Bea move items and carry things for her. Charlies then set his granddaughter out like a blood hound after the tomb of Ishtara.
