Natalia, while incredibly beautiful and at least for the moment of great wealth, she had as yet, on the eve of her 23rd birthday been unable to find a husband. The political goings on, had fro the moment occupied the thoughts of all her potential suitors, and she was far to shy to seek a dalliance with an unattached gentleman on her own. He farther the king, had been reluctant to take her to Moscow, where finding a suitor would be easier, and now with the unrest brewing was unlikely to have time. Tonight was no different. The princess Natalia went to see her father and asked to be allowed to travel, and again he refused.

Having anticipated his objections, she suggested to her father that he appoint her a guardian, who would escort her to Moscow. Charged with her safety, he would allow the king to attend to his business. After giving the matter some thought, and frankly amazed at his daughters wisdom, he agreed. Natalia was thrilled and ran off to her room to make preparations for his trip the next morning. She barely slept that night she was so excited.

Despite her age, the Pricess Natalia was still a little girl in most respects. She was spoiled and selfish, and most often thought little about the future. The whole idea of a marriage held little imprt for her except that the fact she was not taken was beginning to draw unwanted attention. The idea of travelling to Moscow, had her excited and she busied herself that morning with choosing clothes and jewelry, and kept her chamber maid busy packing and seeing to her every whim. When she had heard that she would be in the care of the Count, she had made a face. he man was entirely too business like and always interested in politics, a waste of time in her view. All this talk of revolution just stirred people up and took all the fun out of the parties she so loved to attend. Were it up to her, she would get them all drunk and she was sure they would wake up friends the next morning. Wasn't that what Russians were known for?

As she walked down the hall, while gabbing mindlessly with her chambermaid, she had been stopped abruptly bya collision with a wall that had not been there in her memory. She immediately found herself caught halfway to the floor in the arms of a giant. She looked up eyes wide into the face of Count Volkov. She tried to shreak, but her throat was closed by the shock, and emitted only a near silent squeak.

Natalia was dumbfounded, and far to shocked to speak. She wanted to scream. "Ten minutes?! You're a lunatic! who put you in charge!? I'm the princess here! You answer to me!" all this she thought but could not utter. She was far far to frightened. At the same time, her body responded to the man, to his sense of command, the sure, quick and decisiveness of him. She looked around like the frightened child that she was, but watched helpless as her arms and legs complied. She wanted to run away, but it wasn't happening . The schedule was relentless and the Count merciless. As she was nearly dragged down the hall by her desperate chamber maid who feared for her life at any moment, all she could see or hear or even think about was the Count. As she sat in the car , her eyes stayed riveted on the man as he sat in front of her. The weather was cold but there was a fire burning deep within her deep between her thighs. How could this man do this to her . They had barely spoken untll today. She wondered. Did he know? Did he realize the hold he had on her. It was as though his hand were around her throat, and if she could have spoken, she would have said that she loved it, no... she needed it.

The ride was long in the cold, but she rode quietly, maintaining her dignity. She had been trained in the ways of court and what was expected, so this was natural. She wondered. If I do find a mate, how will I pry myself loose from this man? She didn't know the answer. She doubted she would.
