Elegant fingers, wrapped in tight black leather, trickled down the length of a special made Hand Crossbow, unlatching the safety hook, causing the spring mechanism to jump the hand held weapon loose. This caused a dim light to glow, as the Hand Crossbow loaded a golden arrow onto the string. Reaching into her belt, her free hand grabbed the second Hand Crossbow, unlatching the safety there as well. These where no original Hand Crossbows, but Holy weapons, granted onto a Hero of the people by the Archangel of Arsenals. These where only granted onto the most promising, powerful Demon Hunters in the world, only 12 had been made so far. Two of these, had been granted to the Demon Hunter: Anellia. Her prowess against her mortal enemies, and the defeat of the Aspect of Lust, had been noted by the Angelic Counsel, and this boon had been granted upon her. And now, once again, she hunted an Aspect. She was not certain which it was, but the power that came from the Tomb she stood before, was not that of a mere Demon. It had a strange familiar feel to it. As if she'd tasted battle with this Aspect before. She had only fought one Aspect, and that one had been defeated. This had to be another foe, but she would step lightly nevertheless. So once again, 'Twin's of Light', was loaded and prepared for another fight.
Hiding her athletic body behind a maneuverable leather outfit, small, hard metallic plates for vulnerable areas, and a dark shrouded cloak, Anellia walked down the first set of stairs into the tomb. Her face was hidden bellow a black hood, and behind a black bandanna, covering from her nose and down. She new subterfuge was impossible against powerful Demons, but she remained weary, knowing she could still sneak past risen skeletons and Succubuss, unless coordinated by the Aspect.
Her fingers tightened around the handle of her Crossbows, the golden arrows giving a faint glimmer with every candle she walked past, down the first long set of stairs. She walked past many hallways, that would lead further into the huge tomb, knowing her destination was deep down bellow all of these. She wasn't hunting a mere risen spirit, of a long dead Lord. No, she had her eyes set on a higher price. Anellia was dead set on her goals, stopping at nothing to get there, and take down her prey. She was both renowned and feared for this, having ignored wounded citizens, to take down the one who hurt them, so that the evil deed could not be done again. Protecting the innocent from hoards of Ghouls and Skeletons, was not her job. Her job was to take down the one pulling the strings of these undead creatures, so as to stop future tragedies. Protection, was the job of a Crusader. Her job, was Assassination. this kind of tunnel vision, was often misunderstood as ignorance for others well being. But she'd seen what happens, when the strong remains behind walls, to protect the innocent and weak. Her family had been obliterated by Demons, when a powerful Cult Lord began sieging her home town. The walls held for many weeks, before the Summoners hoards grew too powerful, and they finally broke through. Had someone stepped up, and killed this Cult Lord, her family would still be alive. No one else, would feel her pain.
Finally, she reached the floor of the tomb she was aiming for, the very bottom one. Stepping into a short hallway, the emerald around her neck shined into life, lighting up the dark and dreary area. Many closed tombs adorned the walls, giving way for potential enemies to spring upon her. She would not give them the chance. The Aspect already had to know about her approach, so there where no reason to take chances. Instead, she clicked her right crossbow against her lap, attaching an arrow with a canister, pointing it towards the middle of the room, firing off an arrow who's explosion created a bright light, and pushed aside dust and cobwebs.
From there, Anellia stepped into the room with confident steps, each calculated and thought through. Coffins started rolling out of their sockets in the walls, as both Ghouls and Skeletons rose from their graves, giving off broken groans and hiss' as they fought away stone and rubble from their tombs. Groans and moans where silenced, the second heads showed up from the tombs, Anellia firing arrows in all directions, as her elegant body strode through the hallway. And with every golden arrow fired, a magical arrow followed, seeking out it's own target to strike.
The further she got down the hallway, the more crowded her path became with enemies, and the less there was behind her. Soon, she had no way of moving forward, for a large wall of undead, and she stopped. Reaching out for her left Hand Crossbow, she clicked a small button bellow the handle, and aimed the bow at the crowd. The bow string filled with arrows, pointing in an arc in front of her, and when fired spewed a batalion of piercing arrows at her targets. Groans and screeches signified the fall of many miscreants, ultimately emptying the hallway, showing her the path down to an open door.
Taking a deep breath, Anellia clicked the button again, returning the ammo to a golden arrow instead, as her high black heels carried her forward, through the large door. Again, she took her precautions, never leaving her back exposed, as she prepared for the unknown, in her search for her newest target.
