The clock struck three and Cecilee was still lost in the music, her slender fingers moving swiftly, gently over the piano keys as her mind drifted with the sweet melody that filled the small room. Her reverie was soon interrupted by the harsh knock on the door causing her to jump, a tiny squeak erupting from her as she quickly took her hands off the piano and moved them to cover her mouth. She pushed her glasses up her nose and then tucked some of her dark hair behind an ear and smiled.
"That time already?" Cecilee more said to herself than asked. Letting out a sigh, she pushed away from the piano feeling a sense of loss, but knowing her day was wrapping up and that her friend was arriving to pick her up.
Friday was her early day and Cecilee had promised Trisha that she'd go out for coffee, well tea in her case as she couldn't stand the bitter taste of coffee. And the time had finally come. The students had gone and the others at the studio were slowly leaving for the day, packing things up, wiping down the larger instruments and locking away the smaller ones that stayed behind. Pursing her lips, she stood up and somewhat reluctantly walked to the door and opened it.
"Hey, Cecilee!" Trisha started, her bubbly personality already spilling out all over.
"Hi, Trish," Cecilee answered. "Can't believe it's three already." She looked down at the floor and clasped her hands together in front of her, letting them rest against her jean-clad thighs.
"Told you I'd be here at three o'clock sharp!" the dark haired girl replied. Trisha smiled warmly and adjusted her own glasses. She and Cecilee could easily pass for sisters and often times were thought to be so when seen together.
"I know," Cecilee said, a tiny smile working its way over her lips.
"There's the smile!" Trisha exclaimed. "Shall we go?" she added arching a brow.
Cecilee nodded, grabbing her bag and slinging it over her shoulder. She then began to head toward the front door of the studio so that the two could walk to the nearby coffee shop for their little get together before finally heading home for the day. Home. What a nice thought that was. But, she had to get through her little outing first. She supposed it wouldn't be too bad. After all, Trisha meant well and was friendly. She'd always been kind and a good friend, the sort that had her back and was there for her when things got bad or she felt down.
It didn't take long for the two girls to reach the coffee shop. Once there, they placed their orders—Trisha ordering a rather indulgent coffee drink while Cecilee kept it simple, a nice chai tea latte. Once they got their drinks, they found some seats and settled down knowing they'd be there for a little while.
