Quinn had gotten desperate by this point. He had taken so long to choose which college he had wanted to go to and register himself that by the time he did the accommodation was all but gone. Every dorm on campus was completely full and already had a waiting list. Beyond that all of the student houses near the campus were also taken. It seemed nobody was looking for a roommate now and Quinn was faced with the very real possibility of having to look outside of town and face a rather lengthy trip to class every day. Fortunately though, as he was sat in a little café with his suitcase, looking through one final newspaper, he spotted an ad. It was someone advertising very cheap rates for a roommate. What didn't make sense about it though was that the address given was for something that was clearly a penthouse in the expensive part of town. It had to be a practical joke right? Some college prank for the beginning of the semester, someone taking out an ad for a place that wasn't theirs just to get people to go and pester some unassuming person, probably an old man who had annoyed someone. Still, Quinn was desperate, desperate enough that he would risk this being a prank.
Within half an hour, Quinn found himself walking into the very expensive looking building, even the lobby was like something out of a fantasy book castle that a King or Queen might have. If this was the entrance lobby, what was the penthouse going to be like? More and more Quinn got the feeling he was wasting his time, but he had come this far so he had to try right? He made his way to the elevator, stepping inside with his suitcase and pressing the button for the penthouse floor. This was probably the most ominous of elevator rides he had ever taken, different scenarios running through his mind of being chased away by some angry old man or woman, or some uppity businessman calling the police and him ending up spending a night in the cells for trespassing or harassment.
Finally though he was at the top floor, the elevator doors opening into a corridor that led to a very large set of double doors. With a deep breath Quinn moved for the door, reaching out to press the doorbell before taking a small step back, holding his suitcase in one hand and the newspaper ad in the other.
