Nate had finally managed to get away from the orphanage where he'd been stuck since the age of 4, ever since his parents had been killed in an accident at a Spaceport on the colony where they had lived. Things hadn't been good there, the place was not only underfunded but the staff clearly had a disdain for children. And after 12 years Nate couldn't take it anymore. The escape had been rather meticulously planned, he knew exactly what time the staff did their rounds to check on people, he knew exactly when and where they were all the time. Then finally his opportunity had come. With a single backpack that contained all of his few possessions he had snuck through the hidden nooks and crannies in the building, past the gaps in the building scanners and out of the grounds. From there he had made a dash straight for the spaceport, desperate to get as far away from the orphanage as possible, even if it meant sneaking halfway across the galaxy before anyone realised he was gone.

Unfortunately he had no actual money to purchase a ticket off world, so he'd had no choice but to use his hastily developed sneaking skills once again to get into the spaceport and identify the least guarded ship that he could, getting past the security guards and technicians prepping the ship for launch. He knew there would be a check of the ship after it was sealed, so that left him with only one choice of hiding spot, an Escape Pod.
He strapped himself in just in time, the ship shaking violently only minutes after he had gotten himself in place. This was the first time he'd ever been on a launching ship, it was rougher than he had expected. But still, he was finally getting away. Away from everything to start a new life somewhere else!

Several hours later, the ship had safely jumped to Hyperspace, though there was a bit of turbulence. As much as he would've liked to explore, Nate knew he couldn't go exploring the ship. If he was caught then either the ship would turn around and take him back, or he'd be arrested and shipped back as soon as they arrived at whatever the ship's destination was. If it meant staying away, he was happy to sit safely in an escape pod for a few more hours.
Unfortunately though, fate seemed to have other ideas. Suddenly the ship rocked as it hit a particularly nasty jolt of Hyperspace turbulence, not such an unusual event in itself. However the jolt seemed to trigger something, alarms beginning to sound around the escape pod. "H-huh? What?!" Nate sat up, about to try and scramble for the controls, but he was too late. With one final alarm, the escape pod suddenly jettisoned, being launched into Hyperspace blindly.

When the pod slammed into the side of the Hyperspace tunnel the ship rocked violently before being forcefully ejected into normal space above an uncharted planet, the pod hurtling straight towards it.
The escape pod streaked across the sky in a bright fireball, uncontrolled beyond the computers desperate attempts to gain some control, before violently slamming into the ground, smashing through several trees. The crash had damaged the pod, cracking it open, destroying the engines and communication systems and knocking Nate unconscious, alone on this unknown alien planet.

The sky above the forest was growing dark- but despite this and the general thickness of the brush, the distant orange glow of the crash site was all too visible. It was a miracle that no fire had escaped the ravish the encompassing area, but the risk was still present. "You saw it too, didn't you?" Sally asked. She knew full well she wasn't alone in her darkened wood-paneled office, but she didn't turn her gaze from her telescope aiming out the open window.

"Of course. It'd be hard not to," her visitor replied in a sensual tone. She was veiled in shadows, the area she felt most comfortable in. "Felt it too... whatever it was, it hit the ground hard... and no doubt 'you know who' will be snooping as usual. I came by in advance, I thought you'd want me to investigate."

Sally nodded to herself "You thought right. Eggman will no doubt want to find out what just crashed out there and if it's something useful then you can bet I don't want him finding it. So, get out there and-" Sally turned, only to realise she was alone again. Sighing the brunette fixed her hair... well this one was a stealth specialist for good reason.

With a deliberate silence and skill, the winged woman made her way through the forested realm outside the rebel camp. Along the branches, through the bush, without raising a noise. When she reached the deep trench and crater carved in the earth by the ship the winged woman realised she had thankfully arrived here first. She landed neatly on her high heels, sauntered over to the crushed and damaged pod. It took only a little strength on her end to tear the ruined door off it's flimsy hinges.

Down it went with a clatter, and the young man would awake to see a bat-like woman looking down on him.

"Well now," she purred "What do we have here?"

Nate had been beginning to stir after a few hours, a slight wound on his head. "Uhhh.....what...?" His vision was blurred at first, but as he blinked a few times it started to clear. He glanced around the pod first, every display dark. No surprise, there was no power in any of the pods systems due to the tiny generator being smashed and the emergency batteries completely drained in keeping the pod from being utterly vapourised on impact. As he looked up though, he saw the cracks in the hull, and a starry sky beyond that. Well, at least he'd landed on a planet with a breathable atmosphere and at least no immediately lethal illnesses otherwise he'd be dead right now. Well, that or he was dead and this was some kind of very strange introduction to the afterlife.

Just as Nate was reaching up to unfasten his harness though, the pod rocked again. What was happening? Had he landed on a cliff edge or something and his movement was about to send it over the edge?! The boy immediately went still, but the movement didn't stop. Then suddenly the door to the pod was ripped away loudly, then dropped to the ground. "Wh-wha?!" Nate backed up into his seat a little more, staring out at the figure before his eyes adjusted a little more to the light that the doors removal had given him....and leaving him looking at a very unusual looking.....creature. Was this an alien? An actual alien?! And then it spoke...it spoke...to him? "I....I..." He swallowed nervously, staring at the very odd looking creature. It seemed to be female...it looked and sounded female at least. "I....wh-where am I...? I...there was an accident and....the ship I was on, I got detached....."

"Relax boy, I'm not going to eat you. You're too stringy." She paused and gave a small sigh "That was a joke. You're fine, nobody here has any interest in hurting you," the busty female commented. While she was strange looking by his standards, he was just as strange in her eyes. Rouge reached a gloved hand into the pod, gesturing for the stranger from space to reach up and take hold of it.

Rouge sighed "My name's Rouge. And we don't exactly have time to waste on familiarities. Your ship crashing here caused quite a commotion and our resident dictator is no doubt going to start looking into it. So, you know, if you don't want to be caught by him- vivisected and forced into a robot shell, you might wanna hurry. Grab whatever you have with you, and follow me. Please?" the busty bat asked.

Nate wasn't sure if he was hallucinating or not. He felt the pain in his head, a concussion was entirely possible. When she mentioned something about eating him he jumped slightly, panicked for a second before she assured him it was a joke. Still, it was hard to believe that nobody was going to hurt him when she had ripped the pod door off with her bare hands. When she reached a hand towards him, he just looked at it for a moment before looking back up to her face. "I...." Could he trust her? Should he trust her? He didn't have any reason to trust her, but at the same time he didn't have any reason to think she was lieing to him either. What if she was telling the truth? What if there were others on the way that would hurt him? And when she mentioned being vivisected and forced into a robot shell....well, he wasn't entirely sure he knew what she meant, but if nothing else he made up his mind.

What was the old human saying? Better the devil you know? This....girl...was here and now, assuring him he wouldn't be harmed and offering to keep him safe from whatever was to come after her. The only other option was a complete unknown. It was possible she was lieing and that a rescue party was coming....but it was also possible that nobody was coming and he'd be left totally alone on an alien planet with no idea where to go or what to do. Really, the more he thought about it the more he realised there was only one option to take, and it was offering a hand to him.
"Ok....ok I'll come with you" Nate nervously reached up to grasp the harness at his chest, twisting it in order to release the straps that were holding him in place, then one hand grabbed his backpack, containing nothing more than a change of clothes, whilst his other hand reached over to take the hand Rouge was offering him. "I'm Nate....thank you"

When the strange alien finally agreed to come along with her it was enough to make Rouge smile, her eyes wactching as he undid his bindings. Rouge helped him up to his feet and showcased a good deal of strength despite the feminine nature of her frame. "Alright, good. Nice to meet you Nate. I'm Rouge." Her smile broadened a bit, now giving him the barest glimpse of her pointed pearly white incisors. Her large ears twitched, picking up a sudden series of noises: Leaves being crunched and mulched under metal feet. Branches being broken off trees without a care by burly frames. The clanking of metal joints grinding together in rhythm.

They had some time- a head start at least. And by the look of things, this pod had little that could be salvaged or repurposed so Eggman wouldn't be getting a whole lot. Rouge led Nate out of his pod, silent as the grave in how her feet moved, dragging him almost into the thick brush that abounded them. On scent alone she was able to aim the right way toward Knothole. "Keep quiet," Rouge said in a hushed voice as she led Nate from the crash site.

Nate stumbled as Rouge helped him up, but he also felt she was supporting his weight with seemingly little to no effort....she was definitely a lot stronger than she looked. "Nice to meet you too Rouge..." He was almost tempted to ask her just what she was, but from her perspective he would be the weird alien...she was probably going to be the one to ask what he was. When he saw her fangs, or a brief glimpse of them, he momentarily wondered if he had made the right decision, but then she seemed to look up, those large ears twitching. "Is something wrong?" He couldn't hear anything, but then his hearing was nowhere near as sensitive as hers.

When she started to lead him away he didn't hesitate to follow her, and the way she was keeping quiet he got the feeling he should definitely do the same. Finally though they got far enough away that she seemed to speak, though very quietly. Nate blinked and spoke up, though just as quietly. "What's going on...?" He tried to follow her as quietly as he could, making sure to avoid any branches on the ground. He got the distinct feeling that whatever they were suddenly in a hurry to get away from, he didn't want to get caught by it.

"Someone else found your ship, that's what," Rouge said in her quiet tone from before. She gestured through the thick greenery of the woodlands to the great glows of red and gold light just faintly visible through the leaves. Swatbots, already probing about for the ship and whatever had crashed into it. "There's a lot of them. Too many to fight off... so let's do the smart thing and keep moving." The bat folded her wings back and continyed on, now following a slightly warn track of dirt in the grassland. Deeper and deeper in they went until at last they reached a clearing.

And what a clearing it was- an open stretch with buildings forged from logs and wooden planks- lit up with oil lanterns in some areas and electrically generated ones in others. Most folks were in bed by now, but from here Nate would see individuals similar to Rougel furry humanoids in recovered armour and wielding different kinds of weapons. "Welcome to Knothole. Now, I better show you to Sally. She sent me out to investigate after all."

Someone else? Whoever that someone was, clearly Rouge didn't like them and seemed to have a very good reason for it from the tone of her voice. He glanced back over his shoulder, seeing the lights along with hearing some rather unusual sounds. Whatever was making those noises certainly didn't sound like people, it was much more...mechanical. It reminded him of what Rouge had said earlier, something about robots. Nate quickly nodded in agreement, the smart thing to do was definitely to keep moving. He got the distinct impression that he was better off with Rouge than whatever was back there.

He followed Rouge closely, not daring to let her out of his sight. Being lost on an alien planet was bad enough. Lost on an alien planet in the forest was even worse. Finally though, they emerged into a clearing in the forest, Nate looking around slowly and blinking. "Wow....this place is...." He had never seen anything like it. So....low tech. Trees everywhere. But more than that, all the....creatuers. All of them looked like some kind of animal/human hybrid. It seemed Rouge wasn't alone. "H-huh? Sally? Oh um..well...sure...right" He stuck close to her though, still not daring to pull away from the only thing close to a friend he had on this planet.

Rouge led on up through one long stack of stone steps that led toward a higher and larger wooden structure built into one exceptionally thick and tall tree. Things were not as low tech as they initially seemed- if he were to peer into windows in passing then Nate would be able to glimpse things such as generators, computers, power tools, electric lights... it was an odd mismatch, a good deal of it was scavenged.

Rouge opened the door to Sally's large home at the peak of the tree, the chipmunk-esque genius looking up from a stack of parts and tools on her desk. "This was the lone individual I found in the crashed ship. Says his name is Nate... Dunno what his species is, but he's definitely an alien."

"I see," Sally said with a nod. Her eyes looked to the strange individual and she cleared her throat "I'm Sally Acorn, pleased to meet you. I'm the head of the Knothole freedom fighters. Can you... tell me anything about yourself?"

This place was so strange. As Nate made his way through the odd village with Rouge it seemed, at first appearance, to be completely lacking in any kind of technology, so unlike the place where he was from, built on nothing but technology. But at the same time, when he glanced through the occasional window, as well as seeing yet another kind of odd animal being, he was also spotting things that were distinctly computers, tools, lights....it really was a strange way to live. Finally though they got to some place higher than most of the others, in a tree that seemed larger and older than the others. Whoever was in here it seemed was likely to be some kind of leader.

Nate followed Rouge in silently, glancing around a little until he spotted Sally, Rouge speaking to her before Sally questioned him. "Ah...I...well, I'm Nate...and I'm human. I...was on a ship travelling from a colony....but there was an accident. I was in an escape pod and it detached from the ship..." He didn't need to explain he was running from an orphanage and had stowed away aboard the ship. "I was thrown out of Hyperspace, must've gotten thrown clear of the transit lanes...and then...crashed here. I'm not sure how long ago...." He reached up to touch his head, wincing and pulling his fingers away, a little blood on them. No surprise after how he had knocked his head. "I think I was unconscious for a while..."

Sally listened, finding herself only mildly surprised that they shared a common language. She wouldn't complain- it made this whole process far easier than it potentially could have been. Odd all the same. Rouge had taken a seat at the left hand side of the room, reclining on her side in a pose that could almost have been construed as sexual... then again, she was a very sensual woman. It seemed that every little act she did carried with it some sexual undercurrent.

"I'm not surprised given how hard that pod of yours hit the ground. Really you should be thankful that that's the only injury you got... don't worry, Vanilla will be able to treat you..." A space traveler, certainly exciting. She was always hoping for help beyond the stars, to deal with their Eggman dilemma... Though this wasn't what she had in mind. Sally gave a small sigh "You'll be able to stay here- I wouldn't want you cast out to deal with the Swatbots, or worse risk getting roboticized. But while you're staying with us you'll have to work for your keep. Even if it's just in helping maintenance or food preparation. Now, I'm sure you had a long... journey. So, since Rouge doesn't look like she wants to move, I'll lead you to an available living space."

Nate was kind of surprised that Sally seemed to be so open to his story. Then again seeing as how he was a completely different form of life to them it probably made things much more believable. He glanced over at Rouge as she took a seat, then blushed at the way she was posing herself, quickly looking away from her and back to Sally, keeping himself focused on her. "Yeah...I think you're right...the safety systems probably kept me from anything else, though I think they got totalled in the crash afterwards..." Still, it sounded like they had a doctor of sorts. Sure that Doctor had never treated a human before, but bandaging up a wound was going to be the same no matter what the species.

The tone of Sally's voice was somewhat reassuring. Authoritative, like that of a leader, but reassuring as well, and that was definitely what Nate needed right now, reassurance. "Thank you...I'm very grateful" He smiled softly, though honestly had no idea what she was talking about. Eggman? Swatbots? Roboticized? None of those words meant anything to him. "Well...I'll do whatever I can, though I'm not sure what I can do to help..." He rubbed his head. "Back home I was pretty good with machines I suppose...." Then again that was no surprise, there were classes on technology across every colonised planet, even someone his age was capable of things that would have seemed impossible only a few hundred years ago. "And I was pretty good at Archery when we had to pick a sport....though I'm not sure how much use that might be to you..." He kind of regretted saying that...he certainly hoped they weren't going to ask him to hunt. Shooting at targets was one thing, but he certainly couldn't shoot something alive. "Ah, right...a living space" He nodded. "I think somewhere I can sit and get my bearings sounds good right now..."

The next fortnight was relatively quiet by Knothole standards, mainly spent with introducing Nate to this way of life and the individuals living among him. The society seemed to be predominantly female, but there was still a good deal of equal treatment among the two genders in spite of this. The males were treated with respect, and the females were treated just as well in turn. Those women were soon rather interested in Nate, his exotic nature and appearance having a bit of a... well, a draw to them that was different to what most of them were actually used to.

Sally had taken the time to give Nate as much of a history lesson on Mobius as she could- telling him about the former greatness of her royal family, and it's downfall under Eggman's insurrection. She had to pause and break down other key concepts to him, tell him about Eggman's stormtrooper-esque swatbots and his roboticization technology. Eventually he was deemed trustworthy enough to come along on an assignment- after Rotor had built him a proper compound bow and gave him arrows with heads strong enough to punch into swatbot armoured plating. He'd even been given a partner for his first assignment.

"Hey sug, time to get out of dreamland." A finger poked his shoulder, drawing his focus toward her frame. Bunnie Rabbot, the young freedom fighter who had so narrowly avoided total roboticization and who had every reason to hate Eggman. "That's our mark over there," she said, gesturing her metal finger to one metal bunker laid out in a clearing. "So, we gotta wait for the first volley to hit the front door. When that happens, you gotta use an explosive arrow to destroy that there relay dish on top of the building. Got it hon?"

These two weeks had been the fastest Nate could remember. The time had simply flown past before he could even realise what was happening. Still, life here was far better than the orphanage. The people here were kind, they helped each other rather than everybody simply looking out for themselves and to hell with anyone who got in their way. Here though, here there was respect. Here everyone was more than willing to help everyone else, and so Nate was more than willing to repay that kindness and do whatever he could to help. When Sally gave him his history lessons, it only increased his determination to help them. If nothing else, being here, helping these people, it would give him some kind of purpose. Still, it was hard to believe that one person was capable of so much....taking over an entire world like that. Fighting against him seemed like an almost impossible task, and yet they had been fighting him for years and showed no signs of ever stopping. He could certainly respect that.

Finally, the time came for Nate to do more than just help out around the village. As it turned out, archery was something they seemed to be lacking, most of their tactics involving close call hit and run attacks. Adding in some ranged firepower was certain to be a help.
Still, Nate couldn't help being nervous, so much so that it wasn't until Bunnie had poked him that he suddenly snapped out of his thoughts, jumping slightly and turning to look at her, sighing in relief. "Ah...yeah I'm ok...sorry..." He smiled to her, then turned back to look at the target. "Got it....as soon as the door is hit..." He reached to his back for his quiver, taking the explosive arrow out and readying it in the bow. "I'm ready....I can do this...." There was still a tone of nerves in Nate's voice, but also determination. He'd come too far to back down now.

From this distance there was a clear view of the building, and from the outside if appeared to be rather poorly defended with only one of the sleek black metal robots hanging near the door with it's monocular gaze affixed to the horizon. By now the resistance knew that appearances could always be deceiving. This was a communications relay, and Sally wanted it smashed... there had to be more present than one guard.

A sudden burst of fire erupted against the thick metal door, striking it with such jagged edged explosive violence that the neighbouring Swatbot was blown apart by the shockwave. A series of other fighters moved into position closer to the building, readying their weapons as several more armed robots burst through the door "Okay sug, hit it now!" Bunnie said as she herself moved closer through the dense foliage.

Nate was doing his best to take slow, deep breaths. He had to stay calm, focused. There was only one chance at this. Everyone was counting on him and he couldn't let them down. Not after everything they had done for him. This was finally his chance to begin repaying them for certainly saving his life. He was watching the entrance carefully, ready and waiting for the signal for him to take his shot. Unlike the last two weeks, these few minutes seemed to last forever. But finally it happened, finally the attack had started.

As soon as Nate saw the door blowing apart, he raised the bow and drew back the arrow, taking a few moments to relax himself and ready his aim. The key to this was to not tense up. Then as soon as Bunnie spoke, he just nodded, releasing his arrow and letting it fly. His shot was perfect, the arrow sailing straight at its target, and Nate couldn't help but have a grin on his face, rather happy with himself for it.

The arrow hit near enough to where it needed to hit, colliding with the metal stalk that attached the dish to the roof and blowing it apart with an explosive burst that sent the metal clattering down to the mossy earth. Bunnie smirked and flashed Nate a quick thumbs up as a bit of congratulations before heading along the grass at a rapid rush. The rest of the fighters were closing the distance, laying down supressing fire to pin down the swatbots emerging from the doorway.

The grassy ground suddenly exploded outward in several areas, forcing Bunnie to leap back. A trap, as she had expected, several more swatbots quickly clawing out of the hollowed ground they had been hiding in. Laserfire from their wrist-mounted weapons lit up the air, and the cyborg made another mad dash. One swing of her ironclad hand chopped clean through the midriff of one machine, leaving it clattering lifeless to the ground as she reached the wall. She yelled loudly and smashed her cyborg knuckles into the wall with enough power to punch a giant hole clean through the reinforced hull. A second entrance for the saboteurs.

"Whoa...." Nate blinked as he watched the explosion. He had done that....amazing. He looked back to Bunnie and returned her thumbs up. Then as she stood up and moved to head in, he quickly got to his feet in order to follow her. He couldn't back out now, he had to see this through to the end.

When the ground erupted open and Swatbots began to emerge he yelped, almost falling over. He wasn't used to combat like this after all. But still, he had to do something, he had to help. He quickly reached into his quiver, drawing a normal arrow and taking aim at the nearest Swatbot, letting an arrow loose straight into its 'eye', blinding it and sending it stumbling around, fortunately knocking into one of the others as well. He looked to Bunnie just as she went to smash open the wall, a clearly impressed look on his face. "Whoa...you are amazing Bunnie..."

Bunnie snickered in turn "Well after savin' my tush like that, I could say the same to you," the furry girl replied. She froze up and then suddenly leapt back as more laser fire burst out of the hole in the wall, red hot surges smashing into the grass and nearby trees. She raised her large metal arm up as a makeshift shield and found herself grunting from the few bolts striking into the silver- burning the metal and sending electric sparks along her metal limb.

She kept leaping back and came to a halt beside Nate again. "Our pat of the plan's over sug! We gotta pull back... an..." she winced, grippe her metal shoulder with her flesh and blood hand as pain lanced up the nerve endings on that side. "I need to... nn... come on, we gotta get to cover so I can fix this dang old arm!" With that the rabbit dashed along the grassland beside her human companion, panting and seeking out a cave to hide in while the pain in her artificial arm grew more intense.

Nate laughed nervously as Bunnie referenced her tush, which he couldn't help sneaking a quick glance at despite the situation. He was soon snapped out of his thoughts though when laser fire started coming out of the hole in the wall, gasping as he watched Bunnie having to shield herself with her robotic arm. He immediately moved to get close to the wall, he had no metal arm to shield himself after all, nor was he really able to dodge laser blasts, so taking cover was all he could do.

"Ah, get out of here...right...sounds like a good plan to me" He nodded quickly, moving to follow Bunnie with concern when she winced. "Here, let me help you" He moved to take her organic arm, slinging it over his shoulder as they ran, trying to help take some of the pressure off her body so that she wouldn't be in quite so much pain. "There's gotta be somewhere we can take cover and rest....do you know anywhere nearby?" Nate glanced up as he saw the clouds gathering in the sky....it was starting to rain....that could make things more difficult.

Rain... hm. They wouldn't get too wet with this tree coverage, but at the very least it would obscure the visibility of the swatbots and make it harder for them pursue. "Yeah I... shoot this hurts more than it should... dang ass robot parts," Bunnie said in a low hiss. Along they went while the woodlands grew mistier. Their part of the plan was done so with any luck they could all regroup at Knothole later on.

Bunnie slipped into one large and darkened cave, panting and then disentangling her damp furry arm off Nate's shoulders. "Thanks," she breathed out. Now the brown furred rabbit slumped down at the wall of the cave, looking at her arm. She popped the main lid off her forearm and then gave a groan of annoyance when she saw some of the servos and wires had been fried away under the powerful heat of the lasers. Hrm... "Not too bad. We got enough swatbot scrap back in knothole to replace these burnt bits. Phew, I was worried I'd have a useless lump for a second..."

Despite the tree coverage, there was still some water getting through. And as the mist began to build it just made them wetter, Nate's clothes getting more and more soaked until eventually they felt soaked through. Fortunately though they finally found a cave, Nate taking a deep breath now that they were out of the rain that was still getting a bit heavier with every passing minute, and it showed no signs of letting up soon.

He turned to help Bunnie to the wall of the cave and lower herself down, then stepped back as she popped open her robotic arm, though he couldn't help but wince slightly at the sight of it. "Do....do you feel things...? Through the robotic parts I mean?" Nate slowly sat down beside her, shivering from the cold of his soaked through clothes. "Maybe I can help repair it when we get back..? I'm pretty good with machines...or I was back home at least"

Bunnie frowned "It's hard to describe." With a low sigh she raised her arm up so he could examine the advanced technology that gave it function. "In a way I can. I can tell how much pressure I put onto stuff, control the strength of the fingers... it registers heat and cold, wet an' dry... but it don't 'feel' like this hand does,'" Bunnie said, raising up her other hand and noting how the wet fur clung down tight to toned muscle.

"If I run it through grass, I don't feel nothin. If I wanna touch the earth with it, I don't feel nothin... If I wanna... if I wanna hold someone's hand with this one, then I don't feel..." He frown deepened, and Bunnie pressed her hand to her eyes. "Shoot... what's wrong with me? Why'm I gettin so damn emotional..." she croaked.

Nate couldn't help feeling so sorry for her...to be denied such basic things as feeling something so simple. All because of this Eggman and his selfish ambitions. How could someone do all of this? Inflict so much pain on innocent people....it made Nate feel angry inside...but right now wasn't the time for that. He needed to save that anger for the next mission, the next fight, when he could direct it more productively.

"Ah, hey I'm sorry...I didn't mean to upset you Bunnie" Nate quickly reached out to gently place his hand on her organic shoulder, rubbing it gently through the wet fur. His own clothes might have been soaked through and making him cold, but it must've been even worse for her. "I'm gonna do everything I can to help...to put things right on this world"
