For the last ten years the same pair of bright green eyes haunted McKinley's nightmares, for ten years she had been chasing the same monster down but had never found him. When she was eighteen her little sister was killed right in front of her and the man's green eyes were something she could never forget; about two years after that she had been contacted by a secret society of vampire hunters in need of new members and without hesitation the twenty year old had joined. But that was all in the past, now twenty eight McKinley had left the organization to do her own job, she didn't care about the others, she wasn't doing this to save mankind. She wanted revenge and that's all, she wouldn't be happy until she had been the one to take his head from his shoulders.
Having no home she jumped from town to town, doing odd jobs to get money to pay for hotels and such but she never stayed long, if she got no information she would leave right away so most of the time she would sleep on the outskirts of towns. She was used to hunting down her own food and carried few items, only her daggers and bow and arrows. She can honestly say though that she wasn't a sharp shooter so she rarely used it but when she was in towns it helped to make her look more intimidating to keep street urchins away from her. McKinley sat about five miles from the nearest town skinning a rabbit, saving the pelt to trade later. Flicking her black bangs away from her face she glanced up once, her dark amber eyes scanning her surroundings for a brief second before looking back down at the dead hare. Having been away from civilization for the most part her senses are better than what they used to be, she was used to the sounds of the forest and knew when something was wrong based off of animal calls. When she finished with the rabbit she rose to her feet and put the meat in a pouch, walking along away from the town. She carried three daggers with her, two strapped onto her thighs and one in her hand at all times.
The sun would be setting soon so she would have to make a fire to eat but for now she wanted to set up some traps, alarm systems, in a way, in case something approached while she slept. Finding a suitable area she dropped the pouch of food and licked the fresh blood from her fingers before setting out to gather the materials she would need.
