Chapter 1: Hiring A Maid
~Alex Knight was a tall, brooding man, with average looks and a muscular physique. Light brown hair fell over his forehead as his intense blue eyes looked over the stack of résumés. It was a four-inch stack. He had no idea the response would be this crazy. He supposed the fact that he was the richest man within five states made an impact, which meant that ninety-five percent of these women were money-hungry. He doubted any of them could handle his rigorous training...uh...scratch that...his intense conditioning. He chuckled to himself, knowing his true purpose for this maid. Which was why he was glad he'd asked for a photo from the applicants. Half were eliminated by his selective standards, and after he'd weeded out the greedy ones, there was only one woman left. A woman by the name of Luna Lane.~
~Luna Lane was a woman in a desperate situation. She owed her cousin untold amounts of money, and was actively seeking a job. She'd borrowed for years from cousin Sara, to pay off student loans, on courses she'd never completed. No one had hired her as of yet. She'd put in applications everywhere. Being a beautiful woman had its perks, but it hadn't helped her get hired. She was short, with dark brown hair, and warm honey-flecked eyes. Her curves were in all the right places, but her heart was severely damaged. Heartbreak was nothing new, and she'd tired of the constant hurt, from one man after another. She'd simply removed herself from the dating scene, seeking solitude in books, and music. Luna was hoping that one of these people would hire her, and not just someone who wanted to sleep with her, regardless of what work she put in, like her last two jobs. She hated being taken advantage of, and wouldn't put up with it, ever again. She'd had enough of that to last two lifetimes.~
