An old legend says this: Many centuries ago, the town of Kazeshi was at peace. It was a simple village that was a popular place for travelers, as well as people looking for their well-known marketplaces. However, their peace would not remain for long. A nearby town, Yukina, had tensions with Kazeshi. Rumors of war were very common, and soon it was truth. The armies of both villages were built up and they met in battle. However, the smaller village of Kazeshi managed a smaller army. Little by little the army was being overwhelmed and victory seemed hopeless. The people turned to the only thing they had left: their guardian. This Goddess was said to watch over her town, only appearing in times of great peril or natural disaster. Their pleas were answered as the goddess appeared, appearing as a young maiden, armed with only a katana. It is said that she had rushed off to battle with a war cry similar to a wolf's howl. In a matter of minutes, she had successfully eliminated the entire army alone. A great celebration was held the next day, held after a remembrance of fallen comrades. the Goddess had once again gone away, as the town had no need for her. The townspeople all pitched together to build a shrine in remembrance of their goddess, as well as a residence. And since that day, it was a common practice to bring the goddess offerings. The shrine was visited very often and there is always a pleasant breeze in the area, as well as the pleasant scent of the sakura trees.

The last visitor had brought their offerings of flowers to the shrine, saying a quick prayer before heading off back to the village. Since the night was coming, visiting the shrine at this hour was greatly discouraged. Booths in the marketplace were slowly being closed up after taking the last few customers, and the busy sounds of Kazeshi slowly died. Back at the shrine, the pleasant breeze remained. the atmosphere gave the feeling of a perfect place. In the midst of the peace, the lone lantern hanging from the shrine had been lit suddenly, coming to life on its own. Some incense had been lit by the lantern's fire, and it was then that the perpetrator behind these actions was found. Sitting on the steps of the shrine appeared to be a beautiful young maiden. Her skin seemed to shine even with the dim light, and she had long silvery hair reaching to her waist. Her eyes were a marvelous emerald green, shimmering soundly in the night light. She was wearing a magnificent pure white kimono with an intricate design. It seemed like even the greatest artists or seamstresses could ever make such an outfit. But she had some other features that would certainly stand out. On her head were a pair of large ears, which resembled those of a wolf. She even had a large bushy tail which had wrapped around her waist over her lap. It was unknown who this person was, as nobody had ever seen her. However, this was a very common sight every night when visitors had gone away.

However as everyone had gone away there seemed to be something else there. Moving forward from a nearby alley a lone man emerged to face the shrine and the lone woman sitting there. He was dressed in no armor and seemed to almost be poor in appearance. He wore a brown colored yakata where as there were no intricate designs on it. On his belt sash was a single katana. he walked forward to the shrine and he stood before the being that now sat on its steps.

"Are you the goddess that is spoken about in the legends?" he asked simply as he stood there watching the female with a blank gaze. He was a handsome young man, very fit, seemed a little tall but his short brown hair and his hazel colored eyes told who he really was. he was not someone who really came from this part of the world... he was a westerner who seemed to act like he lived here. which was true... he was found when he was a baby by a soldier and raised up as one... eventually he traine in the way of the samurai... and upon hearing the stories of her he had to face her.

It seemed that her moments of peace would not last much longer. She could already sense the disturbance as someone had made their way into the area. She knew that nobody from the village was foolish enough to just waltz in there past visiting hours. However, she could already sense that this person was not of the town, an outsider. She remained clam, making no attempt to hide herself in any way. In previous occasions where the townspeople would come later, she would simply erase their memories of the incident. She looked down at him with a calm expression on her face. She really was a stunning thing to observe.

Ths wasn't the only thing that intrigued her about this man. From his physical and facial features, she could determine that he was not Japanese at all. Even so, he was armed with a Japanese katana, and she could sense that he was indeed rather skilled. Her tail swished a bit, moving off her lap as she stood up. "Young traveler, surely you are aware of the unfortunate deed you are committing by coming here at this time. However, with such a simple request, I am fine with answering. If you wish to call me a goddess of legends, I suppose that would not be very far off. There are many legends revolving around goddesses. I am the goddess which looks after Kazeshi." She paused for a while as she continued to eye him curiously. "You are not from here. I will have you state who you are and your business here with me."

He nodded as he looked at her and he said 'I have come requesting a duel... i have herd about your strength and skill with a blade and I wish to test myself... All human opponents have fallen before me and i wish to test my strength against a stronger being... I have chosen to come here to request a duel... nothing more. No one will be harmed, for I have not come here to harm anyone" he stood there watching her. he was speaking the truth. he had just wished to test himself, nothing more nothing less. "I will do whatever I need to in order to test my strength against your blade."

An amused smirk came on her face. This human before her had come with such an odd request. While she could tell he was a skilled warrior, it wasn't something that anyone would ask of a goddess. "You say you have defeated many human opponents when you are human yourself. Are you suggesting that you are above mortality?" She was at least glad he was only here for her. If he had done any wrong in the town, she would have cut him down instantly. "Test yourself hmm? I suppose that is what those outside the village think of us?" She turned to walk back to the top of the steps, kneeling in front of the shrine at first before she turned again. At her side was a slim katana, the very same that had slain the army centuries ago. It was truly a fascinating weapon. It was clearly of a quality that any blacksmith could not hope of mustering. "Hmm, I have not had a battle in such a long time. At the same time, I have not had a worthy opponent to face me alone. Warrior, I will see if you are worthy of challenge at one request. A simple one at that. All I ask is for a simple offering. Whatever you feel to offer will be fine." It was just a common practice at this shrine. Even for an outsider like him, she would have him abide by that tradition.

He stood there looking at her as he pulled his katana from the scabbard on his waist as he held it up to her. though the katana did a very interesting thing when it was drawn. Instead of the normal sound of metal the sound of a dragon's roar was emmited from it. he held it up and though the handle looked unexciting the blade looked like there was a fire burning inside of it. he showed it to her as he said 'This blade was made by my father... he had gone a long time ago with some adventurers to slay a dragon that had been harming innocents... from it's body he forged the blade, the blade is the beasts horn and scales, it was made into metal by the beasts own fire... the blade is enchanted as you can see... I offer this to you if you can defeat me" This was his family heirloom, his father's last work...

The goddess eyed the weapon curiously as he pulled it out. The dragon's roar that came from it was interesting. she could see that it was indeed enchanted with the flames emitting from it. It seemed that humans were capable of coming up with some interesting weaponry nowadays. She shook her head slightly. "I have no interest in such a weapon. However, you have shown me something interesting." She stepped down some of the steps, stopping just before reaching the bottom. She pulled out the blade, the familiar metal sound sounding. However, as she pulled it out, a strong breeze rushed through the area. The leaves and sakura petals were sent flying because of it. The blade itself seemed to have a faint glow to it. "This is quite an interesting blade as well. Formed from the wind itself, nice and light too. She gave it a little swing to the side, and the trees shook a little with the breeze. "If you wish, I will allow this blade if you can defeat me, along with any one request." She stepped off the stairs, moving past him to the other side of the area. She had a very pleasant scent about her, though her presence was overwhelming. "Is that fine?"

He turned, his eyes always on her as he nodded when she asked if it was fine. He then took a battle stance as he looked at her. It did not seem to be like any japanese style she had seen, but almost an adapted version that a westerner might use. He stood with his blade at the ready as he looked at her, the look in his eyes telling her that he was ready to go.

"Warrior, state your name." she said as she turned to face him. His stance was indeed odd to see. Seeing as he would be a Westerner, she wasn't expecting his name to sound Japanese. The wind had started to pick up again around the area. From what he could notice, the area seemed to be surrounded in a whirlwind of some sort. It was serving as a barrier so that nobody would be leaving or entering. She also got into her fighting stance, waiting for his name before she would commence with fighting.

My name is Kenshiro Miyagi..." he said as he looked at her 'I was adopted by my father who was well known in his life as a blacksmith of the highest calibur..." he looked at her 'now come at me goddess... I am ready"

"Kenshiro Miyagi." she repeated, a little grin on her face. "Your father is a well-known blacksmith is he? I'm sure I know who you are speaking of. The name is very familiar with me." She moved the blade in front of her, more than ready for the fight. "Well then, I am hoping for a good battle." She then rushed straight at him, and with one graceful swing, she swung at his waist to see his speed. As she swung, the wind had moved against him as well. Both fighters here had an enchanted blade of some sort.

However he blocked it with ease. His blade erupting into flames when it touched steel. He looked into her as he was like a volcano. His style was hard and defensive like a mountian but he was like a volcano when he struck since he struck with such furosity, such power. he looked at her as he struck back, slashing back at her and defending against her hits.

"Hmph." She gave him a little grin as he managed to block off her attack. She noticed the flames erupting from his blade upon contact with hers. Unlike his rough and cautious strategy, she fought with more grace and fluidity. She would easily adjust to whatever situation she found herself in. She moved her katana to block off his attacks, waiting for a good opening before she would come at him. "Hmm...not bad for a mortal."

He smirked "Not bad for an immortal" he said jokingly as he then stuck with a downward slice with all of his force hoping to land a good blow. He knew this was risky but if he hit he might have a chance to at least disarm her... if it failed he would be wide open for attack.

She watched as he backed away, grinning at his little joke. "Suck a lively human." she thought to herself. As he raised his blade up, she brought hers up to clash with his, blocking off the attack without much trouble. After all, she'd naturally have a bit of an upper hand when it came to physical strength. "Hmm...that's quite some strength you have. You're quite the warrior." She grunted softly as she went to push him back, then bringing her katana up. "Now witness mine." She quickly brought her sword down on him. the force would be remarkable, but if he was clever, he could probably knock her off-balance.

He had stumbled back and was slow to respond. Now if he had more time to respond he might have dodged her blow but instead he blocked it as he felt himself quivering below her might as he tried to keep himself there before he gave a swift low kick. it made him lose his balance and if he hit she might fall to the floor. now his was easily fixed but if he should fail... then it might be game over for him.

She gave him a little smirk as she saw him quiver a little under her attack. She continued to push down on him, waiting to see just what he would do. With the pose she had taken, her right foot was placed in front for a better foundation. The low kick had managed to knock her off-balance. She stumbled a bit and fell to one knee. Her blade had been planted in the ground to serve as a crutch of some sort as she pushed herself back up.

He yelled out as a powerful strike then hit her blade as his was a roaring inferno as he knocked out her crutch before he then held the tip of the flaming blade to her as he said "I have won"

The goddess raised a brow slightly as the blade left her hands. She could feel the heat of the blade at her face, seeing that she had lost. Of course, she was very capable of fighting without a blade, but for this particular battle, she had no intention of doing so. "Hmph." She had a little grin on her face as she slowly stood up. "Not bad at all. Seems I'm still a bit rusty since that war. I shall accept defeat then. As promised, I will allow you to have my blade if you wish, along with one other request you may have."

"I wish for no blade... however i wish to be able to be with you... I have never seen a woman more skilled or more beautiful... if you truely can give me my one desire then give me yourself... at least until my deathbed be mine..."
