Veronica Beech had never been a thin girl since she started developing into a woman, she couldn't help it, her whole family were much larger than her, and she had done the best she could to get the weight down. It had left her lonely most nights, with only a few men who where attracted to a heavier set woman. One thing was for sure though, it was her looks that got her job, as part of the port authority for the interstellar trade commission, working on one of the largest space docks that served as a mandatory hub for over a hundred different hyperspace routes.
Veronica had helped find more than a few smuggling berths in her career, having a sixth sense of things, since her father had been a ship designer most of his life, mainly cargo vessels, allowing her to take a subjective look at a ship and start scanning. Tonight though was different, she had more than fifteen ships backed up on the manifest, none of them able to continue on with their transits due to a stupid mistake at dock control. More than five captains had screamed at her like it was her fault, when all she was did was her job. This ship captain and his crew seemed aggravated, but different, it was like there was something off about them, something that didn't immediately jump out to her.
It was a large ship, no doubt there, designed for huge equipment and smaller ships to be transferred, and they had been on route since their pick up point for more than 30 light years. Splitting up with her partner, for they were both in a hurry to get the scan of the ship finished and get it off of the docks, for if it got done it would mean that they could get five ships in to check all at once, instead of one big ship. That was when she found it, a blip in her scanner, a void in the hull. At first she thought it was an error, for her instinct told her that there was nothing but additional shielding on that side of the ship, but as she came by it again, she punched a few buttons on her scanner, having it try a few brute access codes, before the whole side of the wall she was standing by slid open, walking cautiously into it, seeing almost six different containment shields, each of them covering a room, her data pad automatically telling her to take risk and call back up for six Class 1 Alien entities. Class 1 meaning deadly.
