Ally pinched the bridge of her nose in annoyance. Even at this late hour the traffic was still thick. "At this rate, I won't be getting home until well past midnight." she muttered as she fumbled around for her cell. She stared at the screen at the contact labeled "Rich". Her husband. Would he even be home? He had told her he was leaving for a business trip and wondered if he had already left or decided to sleep at home one more night. Most women would hope for the latter, but not Ally. She had come to terms years ago that her marriage was not a happy one. It never was. She had married Richard for convenience, to partner with him and establish a company and use their skills together to build one of the biggest fortune 500 companies in the country. Her marriage was not about love. It was about power and she knew Richard could care less where she was and there was no point in calling.
With a sigh she placed her phone back into her briefcase that was on the passenger side seat and slowly rolled forward as the traffic lightened. She ran a hand through her wavy shoulder length chestnut hair as she kept her pale blue eyes on the road until a light on the dashboard began blinking. The check engine light. "Oh come on not now" Ally grumbled but the car ignored her pleas and started sputtering and she pulled off to the side of the road. She cursed under her breath then gabbed her cell and dialed for roadside assistance. She was informed that it would be a least an hour and a half before a tow truck arrived then just sighed deeply before thanking the man and hanging up. She pushed out of the car, needing fresh air and leaned against her car as she waited for the tow truck. The slender brunette in a light green dress suit was sure to get the attention from anyone to pass by.
