The petite woman usually poses as someone much younger than herself in order to infiltrate the targets of her investigations. But prolonged undercover reporting takes a toll on her, mentally and emotionally, and affects her private life, as she struggles to reconcile her identity with her real life.
1. School
Tamara goes undercover to investigate a school. It could be something sinister, like rumours of drugs being sold, or it could be more prosaic, gaining material for a magazine piece on life in school. Either way, she is subsuming the identity of a schoolgirl, all the while trying to remember who she really is.
2. Underworld
Tamara enters the criminal underworld to try to crack open a big story on organized crime. But keeping up her identity is hard when being discovered could spell serious risk, meaning she has to do anything to keep from being unmasked.
3. Military
Tamara joins the military to investigate first hand what's really going on, but the army life is demanding on her mentally and physically - and she has to go to extreme lengths to avoid being revealed as an undercover reporter and getting into danger.
4. Adult industry
Tamara enters the adult industry (pornography, dancing, prostitution, escort service?) to write a shocking expose on what really goes on, but this leads to her having to assume a character who can get right to the very heart of the business, and keep pretending like she belongs there.
