Sarah ran through the forest, her form nothing but a blur moving over the ground at more than 100 miles per hour. As one of the fastest females, Elysa had thought she would be best suited for this mission.
About three years ago, a boatfull of beings like Sarah had been rounded up on the mainlands throughout the world. They were tranquilized, tied together, and sent out to sea. Their powerful natural abilities had led them to be deemed dangerous, a menace to society, so the logical action of course was to isolate them far from any normal people.
When the group was first dumped on the island by their military escort, they had talked among themselves, speaking of finding ways to return to their homes, to change their societies, to take their revenge. Soon however a divide began to form between the males who insisted on more agressive and violent action and the females who desired a peaceful conflict resolution strategy. Eventually the group splintered to opposite sides of the island, with the males and females fighting one another to determine who would lead everyone. Before long all out war broke out.
Three years later the island was heavily divided among gender lines. Captives brought to the opposite side of their gender were used as slave labor by the females. Sarah didnt know what the men did to female captives but it was well established that captives on either gender's side were targets for the release of sexual frustrations.
Sarah was nearing her destination now. The leader of the females, Elysa had sent her on a scouting mission because at long last, a female captive had managed to escape the men and return to them. She was very weak and kept away from most of the females so as not to scare them by seeing what the men did to their captives, but she had managed to partially describe where she escaped from.
Both the men and women had camps spread over the island, but if the females could find one that was holding captives they might be able to free some of their people. Sarah slowed as she drew closer, her dark elf skin blending into the shadows as she started to hear voices, watching carefully for any guards or other men that might be wandering around.
