'Ah, young love,' Dominic thought, looking at two little boys holding hands. He had so much respect for those boys, they were completely open with their feelings, not "stuck in the closet", as his best friend Iris would say. They were proud of who they were. Why couldn't Dominic be proud?
One of the little boys smiled at Dominic, who waved, as he glided past them on his skateboard. Most people looked at him like he was the scum of the Earth, what with his green Mohawk, and plaid pants tucked into a pair of steel toed combat boots. He wore suspenders hanging from his waist, and a ripped Descendents T. But beneath his tough exterior, he had a heart of gold, and all he wanted, was a nice young man he could squeeze and hold and kiss.
He approached the school, hopping off his skateboard and grabbing it, tucking it under his arm."Dominic!" a girl called, her hurried footsteps getting shorter. Dominic turned around, to see Iris running towards him. She was a fairly tall girl, standing at 5'10, nearly a foot shorter than Dominic, and had long, wavy red hair. Her lips were always a deep shade of crimson, her eyes a light, honey gold, were always done with heavy cat eye makeup.
"Senior year, can you believe it?" she said. "I never thought you'd see the day." Iris and Dominic had been friends since 6th grade. Dominic had been held back, and Iris was just entering junior high. Back in those days, Iris had been quite different looking, frizzy red hair, pimples, braces. All the boys made fun of her, and one day, Dominic got so fed up, he punched their leader, Billy Clayton, in the face, breaking his nose. The two became best friends for years after that. All the dumb jocks, especially Billy Clayton, wanted her now, but Dominic wouldn't allow it.
They walked through the halls, to their first period class, gym. Iris went to the girl's locker room, and Dominic to the boy's. He opened his locker and pulled his shirt over his head, messily stuffing it inside, when he saw an adorable face and body enter the room.
