Welcome to this, my Request Thread, to include my Ons' & Offs, Sample Pairings, and whatever scenarios or specific ideas I might happen to be craving. Firstly though, let me just say that I come here (as I'm sure many of you do) to fulfill certain fantasies and as a creative outlet, but am very strict about keeping it separate from my life offline. I love to chat (maybe even gossip a little) but personal details should stay personal and while I'm happy to be as friendly as anyone else on the internet, and emotionally I'm willing to sympathize both in and out of character, my life outside of Blue Moon will always come first and I expect to respect my privacy as much as I respect yours.
Where actual role-playing is concerned, I count myself a highly adaptable and flexible partner, and love first and foremost catering to my fellow writer's interests and cravings. It's so much the better if they happen to coincide with mine, but on the whole I love helping folks to explore their own ideas and fantasies as much as my own, and so if you're looking for someone to help you tease out a vague idea, hammer down the specifics of one you've been dwelling on a while, or even get a little outside the box in the settings, scenarios, and kinks you usually write about, you can count me on-board! I love ensemble casts, and worldbuilding, so long term RPs are definitely my favorite, but I've almost always got a few more short-term (even one-off) scenarios rattling around in my brain just waiting to be matched up with the right pairing and partner, so feel free to approach me for both. In fact, one of my favorite ploys is to start with a one-off scenario that we both like the idea of, and then just leave it open as to whether there's more that could happen from there, depending on where the story takes us and how we enjoy each other's writing; letting the story and characters develop organically.
Might be getting a little ahead of myself though in terms of the hows and whys, so let's move on to the brass tacks:
Simple rules, but I reserve the right to add or subtract from them as necessary, but will always provide an explanation for those who ask. Now, onto the more fun stuff of what I love to see in RPs and make happen with and for my partners:
Intrigue/Romance/Adventure- Not necessarily in that order, but I love all three, and especially role plays with the depth and complexity of characters and setting to explore all three. I'm using Romance specifically here in the literary context of larger than life characters, whether that's myth and legend, hero(ine) and villain(ess), chivalric or satire, or even darker noir, gothic, and gritty tales and stories. Across settings and genres, I love characters whose aspects and actions surpass the norm and the interplay that comes when such strong personas come into conflict or concomitance.
Sci-Fi, Fantasy, & Pulp- It's not that I don't enjoy real-world scenarios, it's that I find the addition of fantastic and preternatural elements to be the most fun that I have in role-playing. Super science technologies, magic and wizardry, mutant powers, mythical creatures, I love em all, whether that's in a classic High Fantasy Setting, or a Modern Supernatural World, or A Galaxy Far Far Away. More than any specific element of any particular fandom you care to name though, I love the feel of certain pulpy action/adventure which ties a great deal back to my love of intrigue and romance. Distant planets and enchanted worlds are where such themes really come into their own for me.
Conflict & Climax: For me, a good role play is all about good writing, and I don't just mean grammar and spelling. Great stories are the product of compelling conflicts, between characters, between ideas, between whole ideologies! Not that every RP has to be so grand in it's scope, but I like to take the time to plan out how our characters, their goals, and our own objectives as writers are going to engage and compete within the context of the story. Whether that's in terms of strict bad-guys and good-guys, or more complex competing protagonists, the drama that results is what keeps the RP alive and well, in my humble experience.
A quick aside on this topic, I love playing the antagonist. I love playing antagonists, for that matter, across RPs, multiple ones in the same RP; I just love being the one who starts the trouble and causes the drama and presents the challenges for your character to overcome. This lends itself often to me taking a sort of GM type of role in may scenarios, but isn't always a necessity. Whether I'm playing the role straight, as the Big Bad (Vader, Sauron, Doctor Doom, etc.), or a more friendly rival and challenger, or anywhere in between, I love the certain element of 'badness' that comes with playing such a character.
Feminine Empowerment Women are my weakness, and what I mean here isn't specifically about Women's Rights or a political agenda (although I am fan of both), it's that I love strong female characters, personas, and figures. I love women who project power; whether that's a subtle strength of character and conviction, ambition and drive in holding a position of power, the strength and vivacity of a woman in the fullness of the feminine mystique, and any combination of the other characteristics which make great heroines. Depending on the themes of any specific RP, it might be about a character developing these traits, using them to overcome some great challenge, or even breaking them down into some dark and twisted reflection of what they once were, but no matter what I feel they add a potential and depth to any given character or RP.
Another aside here, this manifests in particular with me as an affinity for the female figure, by which I mean a figure which is decidedly feminine. A bit shallow I know, but I can't help but love a certain fullness and curvaceousness of form. I'm talking about the classic or even neo-classic/baroque ideal of beauty, not some stylized shonen-esque fifteen-year-old's masturbatory fantasy of two balloons pinned to rebar framework. Such characters can have a place in RP, but are not my ideal to square off against.
Enough with the text walls! On to the quick and dirty of my On's & Offs:
Ons-
Passionate/Rough Sex
Human/Non-human Pairings
Voluptuous & Curvy Figures
Dubious Consent/Unwilling Seduction
Multiple Partners; Includes Adultery
Corruption & Loss of Innocence
Offs-
Bathroom Play
Violent Rape
Vore
Male/Male pairings
Fur Only Pairings
Some particular kinks of mine which I consider fun to include but sparingly: Lactation, Pregnancy/Breeding, Milfs, & Incest.
Pairings- (Guess I've been on a royalty kick lately)
Super-Hero/Heroine & Villainess/Villain
Black Knight & Damsel in Distress
Rival Monster Hunters (High Fantasy or Modern Supernatural)
Warlord & Warrior Queen (or Conquered Queen)
Specific Scenarios-
Dowager Queen & Monstrous Chieftain
This is an interesting scenario I've played in the past but never to completion and would love to give it a go here on Blue Moon. The idea is the Queen of the kingdom wasn't much a fan of her aging husband, the doddering old king, and after he dies, decides that rather than stand to be married to some simpering noble with half-baked designs on the throne, she'd rather secure power for herself, and thus makes overtures to a more monstrous groom-to-be in the form of some chieftain, or king of one of the savage races or species which harry the lands in hordes and warbands. Kind of a spin on the classic Beauty & the Beast scenario, with the 'belle' inviting the creature into her castle (in more ways than one) and through their combined strength and will to conquer, make a lasting legacy and perhaps go on to conquer other lands.
Lots of potential here for human/non-human pairings, and the exact nature of the beast is to-be-determined, based on my partners preference, but anything from brutish orcs to clannish minotaurs to malevolent demons or vampires is on the table. Can change out the Queen to be a Princess forced into an arranged marriage for more of a non-con situation, or add a darling daughter into the equation for some Queen/Princess incest if that's to our liking as well. Pregnancy and breeding are both great potential kinks for this one, and I'm happy to play whole droves of multiple partners as need be (for a reverse harem sort of play).
Retired Superheroine Comeback
This is a fun idea I had, but have never really had the chance to expand or expound upon, the idea revolving around a certain amount of 4-Color Comic book or Pulp heroism turned on its head. The female protagonist is a former heroine, super-powered or otherwise, who was forced into an early retirement; maybe her powers suddenly disappeared, or were sacrificed to stop some imminent apocalypse, or maybe her secret identity was exposed or she suffered some kind of lasting trauma or injury to take her out of the game. Whatever we decide, she winds up trying to live a normal life, but her past comes back to haunt her in a most unusual way. A fellow retired super approaches her offering her a chance at something other than the humdrum of a desk job and small apartment, maybe even the chance to get back into hero-work.
Generally, I envision a more mature sort of heroine for this roleplay, either she was a teenaged superheroine, and is now struggling to make it in the real-world given in her late 20s or early 30s (since being a heroine was all she knew during her formative years) or else, she's an established heroin with a long career whose forced into retirement in her 40s (or maybe older) and set up with some kind of 'benefits package'. There could be an element of relocation here with a 'witness protection' for super-heroes, especially if her secret identity became an issue, and I've often imagined it taking place somewhere tropical and exotic, the idea being ex-supers are more likely to relax in such a setting (supposedly). For my character, rather than an old flame or the like, I'd much rather play a former rival or even truly villainous mastermind whose turning the whole situation to his advantage, and may even go so far as to offer a 'deal with the devil' exchanging her loyalty for the restoration of her powers.
Might be getting a little ahead of myself though in terms of the hows and whys, so let's move on to the brass tacks:
- I Roleplay over threads and Private Messages primarily. I rarely have the opportunity to sit down to a messenger service long enough to make IM RPs worthwhile for me or my partner.
- I prefer an average of two to three paragraphs per post, and write anywhere from one to five (or more) depending on the scene and detail required. I consider a 2-5 Sentence post a bare minimum (for quick back and forths, action/reaction, etc.)
- I expect a certain competency in terms of grammar and spelling, prefer third person perspective and literary style, but like I said am adaptable if occasion calls for something else. If you too are flexible, and willing to learn, I'm happy to help developing writers with their style and prose as well, and don't want anyone to feel intimidated because they feel they 'can't measure up' with me or anyone else.
- No pictures of you, or me, or content involving underage individuals, as per Blue Moon's rules.
