Missions. That was what Konoha gave out to the shinobi who protected the village and its allies from danger and rivaling clans that wanted to take control of them and how ninja gained status and prestige amongst others. There were varying degrees of missions based on what rank you held, genin were the lowest rung, followed closely by chuunin and then by jounin who seemed to be the highest level a normal shinobi could attain. There were a few other ranks as well S-nin for those that went rogue and were dangerous on their own and ANBU Black Ops.
Along with other sort of titles depending on what organization you decided to join. But for the most part those didn't matter as much. Team 7 was composed of Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno and led by the infamous Kakashi Hatake who had never passed a team in years, some said he'd never passed anyone. But he'd passed Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura and had high hopes for them. Sasuke didn't really care what their sensei thought, all he was concerned about was becoming strong enough so he could kill Itachi.
Which was something Kakashi was somewhat worried about. He made a mental note to watch out for Sasuke to make sure the other wouldn't get into too much trouble. However, Kakashi didn't care what they thought or did, all that mattered was the mission and teamwork, everything else was secondary and sooner or later they would learn that. Hopefully not the hard way like he had. Tsunade-sama had called him and his team to her office to give them a mission though so maybe Sasuke wouldn't be thinking too hard on his mission for revenge.
If he did there was no point to letting him continue. Contributing to the group as a whole was the most essential part of being in a team and why he had passed them, they had worked together regardless of their mutual dislike for each other. Sasuke, Sakura and Naruto were all on time when they got to the Hokage's office but Kakashi was nowhere to be seen which made Sasuke roll his eyes as he leaned up against the door. Not too long afterward the masked sensei appeared near the door.
He raised a hand in the air as he smiled beneath the dark blue mask he always could be seen wearing. "Yo!" He said with a quick wave and stepped into the office as he waited for Tsunade to speak. The Hokage herself sighed as Kakashi finally arrived and went over the details of the mission she had to give them, telling them the bare essentials.
And then handed Kakashi the mission documents. "Now don't fail this one, it seems to be quite easy but don't take that for granted. And don't make anyone mad, Naruto!" Tsunade addressed the young male who looked so much like Dan that it wasn't even funny and she waited for the team to acknowledge her words.
