The doctor was leaning against the heart of the TARDIS looking at the switches, buttons and levers. His hearts had been broken one to many times. Donna had just walked into the TARDIS and closed the doors quietly and let her head sink. She was use to the trouble that came with the adventures she went on, but nothing had prepared her to see the doctor in such pain, in such anger over the only other thing that seemed to make him show any kind of emotion. His own flesh and blood and been brought to life only to be swept away. He was the last of his kind and he was alone. For a few moments in time he had another, someone who was just like him. Donna worried the effects would be dire but he would move on, he always did.

Donna walked down the ramp and could see the doctor’s grief. Jenny was lying so peacefully like an angel asleep on a cot on the other side of the control room. Donna walked over seeing the doctor give her that look, the look that ever one of his companions knew. That he wasn’t ok. Donna held out her hands and the doctor hugged her tightly, he closed his eyes trying not to let his emotions get the better half of him.

“She’s resting now, she’s safe…traveling across the stars just like you do. Chin up,” Donna said letting her hand prop up his chin to face her as he gave a half smile. “I want to take her as close to home as I can, a beautiful planet, full of nature and life, flowers blossoming everywhere…. a garden of beauty, Eden.” He said started to fumble with gadgets making the core come to life. “Eden…. you mean the Garden of Eden….what.” She said with her usual deep sassy tone. “Not quite as biblical, but close.” He said. “I can give her a proper burial of my kind there.” He said with sympathy in his eyes.

Jenny’s body was dead, that was for sure. Her head was tilted over with her blonde bangs covering her angelic face. What none of them knew is she was 100% Time Lord and had two hearts and was going to regenerate just like her father had oh so many times. Her body was just taking longer as this was her first human life.

The Doctor raced around the TARDIS console pulling levers and muttering as the motors raced and bogged down, occasionally he was thrown back against the rail, he was all action, sharp intelligence showed in every movement, he muttered under his breath as he moved, "C'mon, what on earth has got into you?" A particularly savage movement threw him and Donna backwards over the railing. The TARDIS shook and groaned as the doctor tried to pull himself up off the ground. Jenny had been thrown off her caught and was lying lifeless on her side on the metal grating.

A small breath escaped her lips as energy came out of her mouth swirling into the air. Her eye’s opened and her body went rigid like a statue as she choked on her own breath. The doctor saw her while pulling himself up in disbelief.

“JENNY!” He climbed in-between the railing and got thrown forward and hit the wall crying out, he crawled toward Jenny who was trying to regenerate. Going against his rules and without thinking he grabbed her shoulders hovering over her body. “Jenny….” He breathed. Soon as his body came into contact, energy was sucked out of him and absorbed into her body. Her body arched underneath his as she screamed out in bloody murder.

Energy shot straight from her mouth as if she was climaxing, her eyes were glowing white. The doctor was holding onto her for dear life screaming with her. Her whole body glowed and radiated tremendous heat. In those seconds she would become a part of him, downloading all of his memories, more of his DNA. Her body genetic code was changing in the agony of the moment. As fast as it had started it ended and she gasped out and went limb in his arms hanging like a puppet. The doctor would crouch holding her, they were both covered in sweat, clothes sticking to their bodies, and he would be drained. In his arms was not the blonde young woman he knew as his daughter, but someone else, someone even younger.

For the first time in his 900+ year life he was unsure of what had just happened and what the consequences might be. He had only been near another time lord a handful of times prior to regeneration but he always stepped back and let them do their thing. Someone being in direct contact with her during her regeneration process somehow effected them both. At this point he didn't care. Jenny was back! He didn't know how to respond but his mind went into a frenzy of thoughts. She was not responding. She needed to rest from this sudden shock to her system. He picked her up as Donna stood there in sheer shock. "Hey! What are you doing?" She ran after the Doctor as the Tardis continued to spin and tumble it's way to their destination.

The Doctor stumbled down a hallway to one of the many rooms. Donna was running after him trying to keep up. He laid her down on one of the beds and then stood up and looked at Donna. "You watch her. Keep her from moving, she needs to recover. Just stay." Donna was a little take aback as his words sputtered out of him as it was clear his mind was going a thousand different directions. "Now where are you going!" Donna exclaimed as The Doctor ran off. He yelled back, "Change of plans..." This was all Donna heard as he was already half way back to the control room. Donna had seen the doctor in weird states before but this was altogether different. He looked and acted more panic'd then she had ever seen.

The Tardis suddenly jerked and whirled about. Donna did her best to keep Jenny in her bed and safe. The Doctor tumbled and leaned in with the changing direction of the Tardis. A smile crossed his face. Everything would be different now. The Tardis finally came to rest and The Doctor went back to find Donna and Jenny. "You're home Donna. Jenny needs to rest...and tea. Tea will help once she starts to wake up." He looked almost giddy as he went to Jenny's side. "She's alive Donna..."

Donna was sitting in a chair beside the edge of the bed watching over Jenny’s unconscious form. The TARDIS had finally stabilized and landed in its destination, which she was unaware, was earth. The doctor eagerly came through the door with hope in his eyes; he sat on the bed beside Jenny and smiled at Donna. Donna was confused by his words of being home and cocked her head looking between him and Jenny. He listened to his instruction on her needing rest and tea when she awoken.

“I beg your pardon…home?” She asked eyeing the doctor with a scolding gaze. The doctor returned her gaze with only a semi smile and a nod. “HOME.” He said distinctly mouthed and nodded back at her. “Wha…you can’t just dump me here…you need me. You can’t just disappear into the stars with a child you barely have even raised. That’s preposterous, Oi! You need your head checked doc. I aint leaving!” She snapped and the doctor sighed. Donna had saved his life, been loyal and faithful and taken care of him. He realized he was being a bit selfish and despiteful and had to take it slow.

“She needs to rest. I’m staying with her. I’m going to keep the TARDIS parked on earth for a couple days. Were figure out a plan.” He said noticing how different she was. She was so much younger, a teenager. The most revealing yet terrifying fact was she looked so much like him. Her hair was the same color, but longer, and wavy, matted at the moment. Her skin was paler, but her nose was straight, her jawline sharp, her eyebrows narrow, and all features he had. Her energy was even different; she was genetically coded like him.

“She’s beautiful…” Donna said and saw the doctor breathe out chuckling. “I am the handsome one, aren’t I.” he said and Donna rolled her eyes. “Pretty boy eh?” She said leaning back and the doctor eyed her. “Oi!” he said.

“If were home. I’m going to go see grand dad and mum. I can bring some more suitable clothes for her and I’m sure she could use a good meal. I’ll be back.” Donna said getting up putting her hands on her hips. She was very motherly like. Before she left he spoke, “Donna….,” she turned to face him with one hand on the door, “thank you…” she smiled and nodded. “Don’t go off leaving….you could use some time to recover yourself.” She said and he could hear her foot falls as she made her way back to the control room. The TARDIS had landed on the hill that her granddad sky looked out on.

Jenny was still in a deep slumber slowly recharging her body. When the doctor would let a hand cup her cheek she was stir to roll over on her side closer to him curling in a fetal position. They were like magnets toward each other, the pull to be near the other was significant.
