Going to a new school never really killed her. Nah, it wasn't anything close to going, having to meet new people and make new friends that bothered her. None of that. So evidently, there was no jitters within the female, leaning forward just slightly against her bed, she, like many other students, had gotten there a day early to unload their things in their dorms. Shifting her fingers through her loose honey blonde curls, she began getting dressed for the morning run through, it was amazing that they had only been there a day and already a project was in the work for the new students, pulling the denim ripped shorts up her over half, she glanced outside at the early Fall day. Thanking God she was able to wear shorts in the middle of October here in California, the female moved outside of her bedroom after pulling an off the shoulder black shirt onto her upper half, exposing the red bra that held her full thirty six C cup.
Folding her arms over her chest as she slid her feet into a pair of black shin high booties, the female pulled one of her dance bags up onto her shoulder before moving down the dormitory hallway, hazel eyes flickering in the light as Catarina moved downstairs and outside toward the auditorium. Noticing a group of people already filing in, Catarina let out a soft sigh though was promptly spoken to by another girl, smiling softly as she introduced herself and stated that she was here for her contemporary dancing, "Ballet." She admitted honestly, accent spilling out of her mouth as they sat in the middle of the auditorium, perfect seats to see the stage. "Wow. You're like, the first curvy ballerina I've ever seen!" The girl stated, causing them both to laugh as they sat down because really, there was nothing wrong with her body being curvy in the way it was, although there weren't that many of them out there.[/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]
Re: from entirely two different worlds. [ mintiexsinner ]
New school, new year, new state meant a new start for the man from a small little town in the middle of nowhere. Alexander had gotten dropped off by the cab the day before, having only a backpack and a small gym bag full of possessions he felt out of place watching people shuffle past him wearing clothing that looked like it cost more then all the clothes he owned. He had gone to his room just tossing his stuff on the ground and laying on the bed. He unzipped his bag pulling out a couple things setting them on the headboard including the picture of his girlfriend back home. After only a couple of hours he fell to his bed falling asleep quickly.
The next morning he woke up to his alarm rolling over and hitting the button he sat up in his bed yawning. He grabbed his bag pulling out a pair of blue jeans tossing them on the bed grabbing a shirt and clean boxers. He took a shower before getting dressed quickly pulling on his shoes tying his long blonde hair back into a ponytail. He pulled on his cowboy boots and looked at his hat shaking his head he walked out of his room locking it behind him. He stepped into the auditorium looking at the people that were already in the room. He sighed they all looked like they were well off which pissed him off a little, he figured these people would all think of themselves as better then him. He moved into a chair sitting down and kicking his feet up and leaning back waiting.
Crossing her legs lightly, the smooth, naturally tan skin of her legs was exposed thanks to the shorts that were only noticable when she sat down, leaning forward slightly to check her phone before setting it back in her bag. Having easily made a new friend of the girl next to her, her eyes looked up when one of the head administrators began speaking, welcoming them to their first year. "Now, what we got you all out of bed for," Pausing for a moment to let the anticipation set in, like it wasn't there to begin with, he grinned broadly, "We're putting you guys in couple pairings. And not in your immediate genre of dance!" He sounded excited, leaving Catarina to immediately figure him as flaming gay, the way he clapped his hands proving said fact as a few groans throughout the auditorium emerged. "Now now, it's only for a semester, and this semester it is mandatory. After this semester, you can go on about your business or continue your pairings. However, we have already chosen your pairings!" Again, another point in the speech where his voice got excitedly high.
And as the names fell out of his mouth, as well as their immediate dance genres, Catarina stood up once her name was called, her new found friend being loud and cheering for her like she was being nominated for a Grammy or something, "Catarina and. . Alexander!" He called out, the girl who had once been cheering for her now nudging her friend before whispering, "You got partnered with Brokeback Mountain over there." Evidently, she was the nosey type of woman to already know who people were without even meeting them completely, her hazel eyes looking over to the male with a blonde ponytail.[/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]
Alexander sighed as he listened to the man speak shaking his head as he kept himself from laughing at the man. He listened intently waiting for his name to be called as he looked over the crowd watching the people stand and move over to sit next to their partners. When his name was called he looked at the girl who was standing up and sighed, she looked to him like the typical rich type. He stood up his hands shoved in the pockets of his jacket and walked over to her, holding his hand out to her "pleasure to meet you Caterina" he said trying to be civil. He offered her a small smile his bright blue eyes shining in the light.
Well he didn't look entirely too happy to be her partner, mentally rolling her eyes and keeping herself from doing so out in the open, the female watched as he crossed the aisle to speak to her. The Portuguese and Italian mixed let her hand slip into his when he offered it in a shake, the female smiled lightly in return, "Nice to meet you too," Pausing for a moment as the administrator moved back up to the podium on stage and announced, "One more thing. . You both have to come up with a dance by the end of the semester. . Together." With this, he moved off the stage quickly, knowing he would get pummeled if he stayed up there any longer. Evidently, all of them were paired with someone who had nothing close to an idea of related dance, looking back to Alexander before tilting her head lightly and asking with only an inkling of hope, "Ballet? Bachata? Salsa?" Out of the most familiar of those, she hoped he at least knew what Ballet was, knowing he probably hadn't the slightest idea of what Bachata was.[/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]
He took her hand gently shaking it the callouses on his hands obvious to the touch though. He shoved his hand back in his pockets as he heard the rest of what the administrator said. "He is really going to be hated by everyone in here' he said shaking his head and looking back at her as she suggested a couple of style' sorry I'm not much of a ballet guy I don't know much about Bachata but I do know some Salsa. I specialized more in the classical dances, old american classics, and Irish dances".
By this point, there was nothing she could do but be optimistic. It was her first day of school and already a bombshell like this had been dropped on all of their heads; Like a fucking brick. Folding her arms over her full chest, Catarina found herself letting out a soft sigh and shaking her head, "This is going to be difficult." Irish dances? Never that. And she knew the only way they would get a worthy grade on it would be to combine the dances that they knew together, whether it be his classical dances or her ballet. "Well. . I figure we might as well get started. When are you free today?" She asked, looking up at him with her bright eyes.[/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]
He scoffed at her declaration "I think difficult is an understatement" he said thinking about a way to make this work. He always had ideas floating around in his head and now his thoughts were racing trying to figure out how to pass and have a piece by the end of the semester. "Um well I'm free all day today I guess I was going to go look for a job but I can do that anytime" he said shrugging hoping he had enough money with him to pay for meals the next couple of weeks. "so where should we practice?' he asked looking into her face' my rooms empty I managed not to get a room mate".
To put it simply, this was going to be quite a long semester. She could definitely see it already. Glancing up at him when he spoke of going job searching, she had pretty much already gotten all her connections done beforehand. A perk of having money already and your parents wanting you to make a little bit of your own unless you needed something expensive. Tilting her head up at him again when he suggested practicing in his room, she knew they couldn't practice in there all the time, mentally deciding she would find the sign up sheet for them to have the auditorium some days as well, Catarina nodded softly, "That sounds fine to me," Pausing for a moment as she grabbed her bag, she had to go do something, although she figured they should start in about an hour, "What dorm are you in?"[/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]
He looked up surprised a bit that she didn't downright insult him at all during their conversation. "209" he said as he glanced around at all the people in the auditorium getting to know their partners he laughed when he saw one girl smack her partner. "so then when should I expect you?" he asked wondering if he would have enough time to fill out a couple of applications or not. He was glad he got a scholarship to this school because of sports or he would never have left his home town. As it was he knew he was going to need money that nobody in his family had in order to survive out here. He yawned covering his mouth with hand as he did so he turned his attention back to her as he waited for her answer.
Reaching in her bag for her phone and a pen, Catarina clicked it gently and took his hand, writing her phone number against his skin, "Since we're going to be partners for a whole semester, might as well go ahead and get that out of the way." She stated, just incase he didn't know why in the world she was writing her number in his hand. "In about an hour or so. I've got to run an errand, and change clothes." Cat added, smiling softly before moving out into the aisle, "I'll see you in a few." Waving lightly before leaving the auditorium, she knew she would have to get her things done quick, mentally hoping he would text her so that she could add his phone number in her phone, silently scolding herself for not doing that.[/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]
He watched her write the number making a mental note to get a cell phone like he had been meaning to. He had sold most everything he owned in order to get the ticket to come out here and now he was wishing he had more money then he did. "um yeah thanks' he said looking at her number' um alright then I'll see you in awhile". He turned and walked out of the auditorium making his way quickly back to his dorm. He pulled his shirt off never liking to wear shirts he preferred to be without one whenever possible. After dropping the shirt on the bed he looked at the second bed that was unoccupied and walked over to it pulling the mattress off setting it on his bed before tipping the bed up against the wall sliding the mattress behind it making more space in the room. He sat down at the desk in the room and started filling out forms.
The hour went by fairly quick, getting her time to go home and change clothes as well as call her mom like she had texted her to earlier in the morning, plus make sure that everything else was in place. Thankful that all of the rooms came with a stereo, she tucked away in her bag, the female had changed into a pair of black Victoria's Secret PINK sweatpants, mentally hating that her racial background did give her every presence to say she had a sizeable ass. Rolling her eyes up to the ceiling because evidently everything on her was decently sized, she was at least happy she wasn't some twig, a black tank top over her upper half as she made her way out of her dorm and down the set of stairs to dorm room two - oh - nine. Knocking softly, she raised her hands carefully and pulled her hair into a loose ponytail, bangs falling over her eyes as they naturally did, waiting for him to answer the door, hoping she remembered the right dorm number. [/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]
Alexander looked up at the knocking he had spent the last hour listening to music and filling out page after page of applications. He stood and stretched forgetting to put on his shirt as he walked over turning down his stereo and stepping to the door opening it seeing her "has it really been an hour" he said looking at his watch' wow your amazingly punctual". He looked at her his eyes slightly widening as he took in her body and what she was wearing "come on in" he said stepping out of the way allowing her to enter his room. "hope you don't mind utterly empty" he said gesturing to his nearly empty room the only thing to draw anyones attention being the two bags on the floor and the picture of a girl.
Cocking a brow up as she noticed he definitely wasn't wearing a shirt, she blinked softly when she turned back around, figuring his question about the hour was rhetorical. Shrugging softly when he stated that she was punctual, she pretended to not notice him slightly look her over, "I can't help it." It was undetermined whether she was talking about the being punctual thing or the fact of him looking her over, however, she would let it settle on the first idea of the two. Moving past him once he allowed her to come in, she tilted her head lightly at the insanely plain room, looking back at him when he spoke of his basically naked dorm room, "You haven't decorated yet?" Being how she was, she had gotten to her dorm room and in finding out her lack of a roommate, hung up posters and pictures. Looking around his room again, her eyes fell to the picture of the girl, her head tilting curiously before looking back to him, "Girlfriend or sister?" Couldn't possibly be his mother. . Or at least, she hoped it wasn't. [/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]
"punctuality is a good thing though you shouldn't want to help it" he said shutting the door and stepping over grabbing the only chair he had found "here have a seat if you want" he said stepping around and sitting on his bed. He laughed gently "actually I don't have anything to decorate with other then the picture' he said smiling at her question' my girlfriend though with her being so far away I'm afraid it won't last". He shrugged and looked at her "so did you have any ideas of what we could do for our project?"
Setting her bag down and glancing back when he closed the door behind her, Catarina smiled lightly when he offered her a chair, sitting down and watching him as he sat on his bed. There was enough space in here thankfully for them to practice some dances, although nothing close to ballet in here. Thankful she had signed up for the auditorium for late tomorrow afternoon, Catarina shook her head softly when he stated that he didn't have anything to decorate his walls with and that the picture was in fact of his girlfriend. Raising a brow again because he seemed so calm and settled that it probably wouldn't work out with him being so far away, another curiosity driven question came from her, "Where are you from?" [/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]
He looked up at her question looking away, he felt like answering the question would make him more of an outcast. He shrugged though and figured it didn't matter if anyone knew where he was from or not anyway. "I was born and raised in North Carolina" he said offering her a slight smile 'you?" He could tell by looking at her she had a multicultural background but he was curious about where she was from. He looked at his own walls realizing how boring the room actually was, he was so used to living with so little that he hardly ever took notice of it anymore. He stretched and yawned his muscles moving under his bronzed skin, before he scratched his shoulder then placed an open palm on it feeling bare skin. "oh shit I'm sorry" he said standing with his back to her grabbing his shirt from the other side of his bed and pulling it on. He turned and sat back down "sorry about that forgot I wasn't wearing it."
Wondering why he seemed so leery about telling her where he was from, maybe he came from somewhere in the boonies? Oh God. . Maybe he really was straight out of Brokeback M- Nevermind, that was just mean, and he evidently wasn't gay if he had a girlfriend back home. Being that she couldn't particularly say that about herself, she wondered why he seemed so nervous about telling her he was from. Deciding that it could be a touchy subject, Catarina figured that this question was coming, biting her bottom lip softly, "Well. . I was born in Portugal," Pausing for a moment as her accent said the word correctly, the female finished with a simple, "But I came here from New York City." Yeah. Alright, so maybe North Carolina was puny compared to New York City as far as a lot of things went, laughing softly when he finally realized that he wasn't wearing a shirt, she shook her head lightly, "I've seen plenty of shirtless guys before. My eyes aren't burning, so it's ok." Catarina spoke again, pulling her bag closer to her before grabbing a CD from her bag, "Anyway, I figure we should listen to each other's music to figure out if we can blend something together with it." She suggested, tossing the CD onto his bed.[/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]
Hearing where she was from he nodded wondering how long she had lived their before moving to the U.S. He smiled at her words "still I'm sure being alone in a room with a half naked guy you hardly know couldn't be on your to do list" he said taking the cd he agreed with her idea and walked over to his cd player one of the only things he hadn't sold, and put the cd in letting the music play. "I was thinking maybe we could blend together a few different styles into a sort of montage of dance' he said sitting back down as the music started to play' what do you think?"
Being alone in a room with a half naked guy she hardly knew at whom had a girlfriend was more of the reason why it could have posed as entirely awkward, but he hadn't tried to pull any moves on her, despite the fact that his body was rather. . Well, it was rather sexy for what it was worth. But she didn't say that outloud. "Well, since you said you know how to Salsa. . Sort of, I figure I can teach you Bachata or Ballet. . If you're willing." She responded, knowing that Salsa and Bachata were a lot closer to the dances than Ballet was, her hazel eyes watched as he put the CD into the stereo before tilting her head when he suggested doing a montage of dance, "I think that's a good idea as long as we learn something different out of it." Biting her bottom lip softly, she remembered how loud he had been playing his other music, speaking in her soft toned voice, "You might want to turn it d-" Getting cut off by the blast of drums charging through his stereo system, she couldn't help but burst into laughter, knowing he probably hadn't expected that. [/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]
"correction I kind of know how to salsa I'd say its more a horrific interpretation" he said smirking' well how about you teach me to Bachata and maybe we can add that salsa waltz and I don't know what else would go good with those" he paused hearing her start to suggest he turn it down before the sound hit him like a wall his eyes widening. He stood up a rather calm look on his face as he lowered the volume "scratch what I said earlier your timing is a bit off" he said laughing as he sat back down' alright so teach me bachata". He kept finding his eyes roaming over her and had to clear his thoughts remembering he had a girlfriend who at this very moment would likely be surrounded by almost every guy in the town getting hit on. He figured it was alright to look as long as he didn't do anything right. He smiled as he locked eyes with her for a moment and he couldn't help but notice "you have lovely eyes" he said without thinking.
Knowing this probably wasn't going to be as easy as they hoped it would be, Catarina contained her laughter when his eyes grew to the size of saucers, obviously he wasn't used to the bass in his own stereo. Being that she was used to it, it hadn't blasted her out of her chair, rolling her eyes when he stated that her timing was off for this fact, she stuck her tongue out at him as though to say he shouldn't have had his stereo up that loud anyway. Tapping her lips softly because he probably didn't know what he was getting into as far as Bachata went, standing up and carefully pushing the chair to a corner of the dorm room before shaking her head, "I want to see what you mean by a horrific interpretation of salsa." It couldn't be that bad right? If he had rhythm, it couldn't be that bad. . Surely? "I think we should practice your salsa first, before we go to Bachata. . By the way, you might want to look up what it is so you don't get surprised about the, ehm, closeness." Truth be told, if he was from as small of a town as she suspected he was, he'd never heard of that type of dancing in his life, although to put it plainly, there was a lot of touching, so she figured he should bear the shock in his privacy and not while she was around. Smiling softly when he stated that she had lovely eyes, taking the compliment like a true girl would, "Thank you." Saying her thank you and taking his hands to pull him up and off his bed, Catarina moved to the stereo and changed the song, going through two songs before turning up the stereo carefully when the salsa music began to play, "I'll let you lead this time." [/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]
He knew this was going to be a challenge since they seemed to come from such different background. He was glad though that she wasn't the stuck up type, she seemed to be fairly down to earth. He laughed "alright you asked for it I guess" he said smiling as he recalled his one and only day of salsa. He cringed at the memory the day had not gone well for him and he had given up on salsa after that hoping he would never have to do it again. "I've seen Bachata before, the teacher I had used to love it and would always ask if anyone wanted to learn it. So I saw people around me dancing and I get what you mean by the closeness" he said as he felt her grab his hands he stood up looking down at her. He hoped they could manage to get their project done and have it work so they both liked it. He thought about the closeness of Bachata and looked down at her gulping, now he wished he didn't have such a cute partner.
Letting him lead until she found herself giggling softly, she didn't mean to somewhat laugh at him, although he was stepping awkwardly because apparently he hadn't been too skilled as far as Salsa went. That was alright, considering that was what they were both here for, right? Placing his hand on her hip as they began to carefully dance around his room, carefully simply because she knew that he hadn't done it in a while, not because of the space they were in. Looking up at him because unfortunately she was at least a half a foot smaller than he was, Catarina tilted her head softly, "Are you still up for it or does that make you uncomfortable?" She asked, knowing it could easily make someone not used to it uncomfortable, the female then decided to carefully take the lead from him, taking his hand and setting it on the soft skin of her shoulder while her hand fell to his hip bone.[/list:u][/list:u][/list:u]
