A massive demonic beast perched over the remains of a human. The attack on the city had gone according to plan, laying waste any and all signs of humanity. Now only the demon and its kind remained, to feast upon the flesh of those that they had conquered. This beast was a great one, three times the size of a human and covered in armored scales. Its sharp teeth tore into the flesh, tearing strips and strips off. Thanks to its great armor and skill, it had little need of paying attention to its environment. Instead, it focused on the meal, gorging itself. Already the demon's belly began to bulge slightly.

Ah, the sweet taste of flesh. such a tantalizing aroma, and one that I do not get as often as I would like. I wonder what we shall do to the city now? Not that it matters to me. for now, I shall feast.

It drew another great slab of meat up, grunting with happiness at its new-found treasure of food.

On the outskirts of the city, another figure had appeared. The young woman stayed to survey the area for a little while. It was such a horrific sight: a lively city had stood here not too long ago, and now it had been reduced to rubble in an instant. There really was only one explanation for the city's destruction: a demon. Demon attacks had been a very common thing, but there had never been attacks on such a large city, and by the looks of things, it was a lone demon. Without wasting anymore time, the woman began to go further into the city, looking for her target. She looked to be about 20 years of age, quite young for a woman of her profession. Truth be told, she was a demon hunter, one of the rare few to hold such a title. Wherever demons would pop up, the hunters seemed to be very close. The elimination of these demons was always a cinch for these talented warriors, though there were occasion moments that proved more difficult than expected. Still, they had yet to fail in eliminating a demon they had run into. This particular hunter chose to travel alone. There was always a disadvantage with having a partner around, and she wasn't exactly looking for company, just the pay.

Her name was Lilia, a first-class demon hunter. Among the few hunters that remained, she had made quite a name for herself. Many fearsome demons had fallen to her blade, and she was looking to add this one to the list. She had beautiful peach skin and eyes that shone like emeralds. Her long coal black hair had been tied back in a ponytail. She wore a white tanktop with a pair of tight black shorts, along with a black jacket and boots. At her waist was a long slim katana, which was truly a fine weapon indeed. Strapped to her back was a massive shotgun that seemed far too large for someone like her to carry, yet she showed no signs of pain or fatigue. She also had an impressive figure overall, having amazing curves and C-cup breasts. Her beauty and skill had earned her the title of 'Violent Maiden', and soon this demon would see why. She could feel a strong presence nearby, and she knew she was getting close. Gripping the lade tightly in her right hand, she proceeded forward. She had caught sight of her target, making a meal of a helpless victim. She quickly unsheathed the blade, lunging at the vile beast. With her sword over her head she quickly brought it down, looking to end this quickly.

The creature had heard the incoming approach of the demon huntress. He smelled her on the wind. Most importantly ,he could feel someone of some power approaching from behind. But he had the arrogance common to his kind, and merely sat, continuing in his meal, waiting for whomever thought they could disturb him to do so. It wasn't like they'd left many survivors, or that any of those desperate few humans that called themselves hunters could actually manage to accomplish anything.

So the creature didn't attempt to dodge as Lilia attacked, didn't even seem to move at all. It simply continued to eat. The sword clanged against the plates overlapping the creature, deflecting off. The blow had been rendered harmless by the creature's protective measures. There did seem to be some scuffing along the surface, something of a promise that more blows would actually result in something, some form of harm being done to the creature. The quick ending that Lilia had been hoping for, however, was evidently not going to happen.

The creature turned then, looking at the girl. It's yellow eyes, shot through with blood and black, widened at the sight of her. Lilia had indeed gathered something of a name for herself, one that had carried into the demon world as well. This creature knew of her. What she would come to regret, however, was how personally it knew her.

The massive being shifted, turning to fully face the demon huntress. Its curled body of overlapping plates vibrated for a moment, and several barbed tentacles began to wave in the air. One or two shifted, pointing directly at the huntress. A handful more whipped the ground, destroying the pavement and leaving great gouges in the earth. Finally, those aimed at Lilia fired darts in her direction, aimed all about her.

Lilia grunted slightly as her blade simply bounced off the demon's armor. She stepped back a few steps, preparing herself again. Upon closer inspection, he had armor of very high quality she had not seen before. Still, there was obvious damage taken from her blade, and she could break through it with continuous strikes. What bugged her most about this particular demon was that he had chosen not to defend himself from her attack at all. He had simply stayed to take the blow. Of course, she would have liked to get the job over with already, but she would have to get her hands dirty a bit more now.

She didn't flinch at all as the grotesque creature turned to face her. She could feel the intense glare coming from it, but she simply returned her own cold stare. Looks alone were not enough to sway this feisty huntress. As he turned to face her, she could see just how much he towered over her. This wasn't a new sight for her, but this would be her biggest target by far. She held her blade in front of her once more as the demon summoned the tentacles, watching carefully for any form of sudden movement. She shifted her feet only slightly as he broke the pavement, getting a better foundation and avoid falling over. Her eyes narrowed as the darts were fired. She quickly moved the katana forward, knocking away most of them. She would move her head slightly to the side to avoid the rest, though just barely. "Hmph, you're gonna be a handful. Then again, I'll actually have a decent fight." She went straight for him once more, swinging her blade at the tentacles around her.

As the huntress spoke and fought, the demon began to recognize her. Yes, this was she that had killed so many of his kind. Several of his closest friends, even a handful of his kin, had fallen by this woman's weapons. and here she was again, challenging him, an obvious superior to her. It was enough to infuriate the demon, send his blood boiling. The tentacles began lashing out, several acting as large whips, flailing to try and catch the woman as she leaped about. The demon also watched for her movement, watched where she moved and firing more darts.

The woman's blows weren't completely wasted. The demon's armor did not extend to his tentacles, and her sword cut through one or two as they lashed. the demon hissed in pain at having bits of himself be severed in such a fashion, and the pain served to egg him on further. His motions became even more frenzied, even more reckless. Her blade would sever him, and was beginning to hurt, though he was determine to inflict far more damage upon his prey.

Lilia did not think to recognize the demons she had slain. They were all the same to her, and this one would be no different. She was completely unaware that she had eliminated so many of his kin, and he was sure to have been waiting for this moment to get revenge. Each time she had went in close, she would get at his armor, but she had not broken through yet. She hadn't been very consistent with one area of the armor, but the damage was slowly being done. If she was persistent in her attacks, she could probably break through soon. However, seeing this opening, she had gotten a bit reckless. The tentacles had managed to strike her a couple times, leaving dark bruises and small cuts.

She was however glad that she was getting rid of the numerous tentacles that shot at her. Occasionally a dart would skim over her skin, but just as quickly, she seemed to get rid of a tentacle or two. She grunted a bit at his reckless approach now. She was getting a barrage of darts now, and she moved back for now. She quickly grabbed the shotgun off her back, aiming quickly and firing at the demon. She was sure that this would prove more effective against the armor if the blow hit. She wasn't thinking about missing though, as she rarely missed her target.

The demon's reckless attacks continued for a few moments, tentacle flailing, darts flying as they had always been doing. He was aware that he'd finally begun to damage her, and surely her small, feeble body wouldn't hold out nearly as long as his massive, plated one. It was simply a matter of continuing in this manner, and watching her fall first.

But then the small female switched, a gun coming out. The demon had seen things like that before, had faced their sting. Unfortunately, he couldn't pull his bulk out of the way in time. The blast from the shotgun tore loose a part of his armor, and the creature shouted in pain, its tentacles waving. A new volley of darts rained down upon Lilia, unaimed, but so numerous they surely couldn't be avoided.

While the darts fired, the demon began gathering more dark energy and power, its body rippling as the dark powers began. It would continue its attacks, yes, but all the while preparing a trump card. Just a little nudge to push the frail little human over the edge, into oblivion.

A slight grin came to her face as she saw the armor fly off the demon. This provided a huge opening for her now, and she could easily reach some crucial points of the body from there. She slipped the shotgun around her back once more as she went at him once more. However, her attack had caused her opponent to continue with the reckless tactics, and it was proving to be quite a handful. The tentacles were just flailing around randomly as they shot out darts in all directions. For the most part, she could avoid a few of them, but it seemed each time she dodged one, another would catch her. Most of them skinned her with a few piercing through her shoulders and sides.

She gritted her teeth tightly as she continued to take the onslaught of darts. If she didn't do anything soon, it could look very bad for her. She was only taking more damage just standing there, and she could feel the demon starting to store more power inside. She wasn't going to allow that anytime soon. This was a do-or-die situation now. She gripped her katana tightly in her hand as she suddenly went at him, running straight through the barrage of darts, getting them in her arm as she shielded herself. She then swung her blade at the unguarded part of his body, looking to get in very deep. If it didn't kill him, she'd at least hope to incapacitate him.

The demon allowed the woman to attack him further, chipping off more and more of his armor. He put forth no effort toward dodging the multitude of her attacks, simply shedding armor at a surprising rate. Each chunk displayed more of his coal black skin, warty and textured, seeming to breath as it was released to the world. Still, he simply continued his assault, aiming carefully for the bounding girl.

he saw that she was lunging for him, and he knew exactly where she would be aiming. She'd walked perfectly into his trap, and now she would pay for her insolence. The demon shifted, actually bearing the section of his body that bore no armor. Her blade would sink, would sink deep, causing pain to vibrate throughout the demon's body. As it did, he released the dark energies, instantly recovering his armor and rejuvenating a good portion of his wounds, hastily sealing them. Under normal circumstances, this might simply even the fight, give the demon a second wind. with the girl's blade now firmly embedded in a thick layer of armor, however...

"Hmph." Lilia gave a satisfied grunt as her blade sunk int the demon's flesh. What bugged her about the whole thing was that he made no effort to dodge it. Was he trying to get hit on purpose? That couldn't possibly be the case. As it would appear, she had just chalked up yet another demon...or so she thought. When she went to pull out her blade, she found it was now stuck in newly-formed armor around the demon. What sort of trick was this? She could have sworn she had killed him, but this must have had something to do with the energy she felt around him.

She stepped back a bit, now without her trusty katana. That didn't leave her completely powerless though, as she still had her shotgun handy. She was also quite skilled in hand-to-hand combat, but going against a demon in such a manner wouldn't be too favorable. With no other options, she pulled out the shotgun once more. This is how she had removed his armor in the first place, so she'd simply do it once more. She aimed once again and fired at his armored body. Perhaps she would have to really maul him to get her blade back.

The demon's plan had worked. He'd removed one of the girl's weapons. If he could continue like this, the woman would soon be at his mercy. an unarmed woman alone could not stand up to any demon's might. Again he began gathering energies, focusing his attentions on that.

Yet this time, instead of acting full out, he simply fired a few well aimed shots, taking a few whacks with his tentacles. When she fired at him with the shotgun, the demon shoved himself violently to the side with the tentacles. The scattershot of the gun took several of the tentacles with it, leaving behind stumps that oozed black, but this was certainly preferable to having his armor removed piece by piece.

Then the demon recalled something. Firearms, those dangerous human weapons, had to be reloaded. They generally did not come with an infinite supply of ammunition. Sooner or later the girl would have to pause to reload, and then he could attack again. Failing that, he could simply continue dodging, sacrificing more tentacles, until his power was fully gathered for his next move.

Lilia was a little confused as he suddenly forced himself to the side. And while he did avoid the attack, her troubles weren't necessarily over. She noticed that he had fired a few darts her way, and she quickly moved to the side to avoid them. Some of them had caught her shotgun, but it was still in good condition. She was keeping a close watch on her ammunition, as she didn't have many shots left. After a few more, she'd have to reload. She couldn't afford to miss. She once again aimed quickly at the demon, firing at him. she was ready for him to move, and she would simply fire as he dodged, hoping to catch him in the middle. She got the ammunition ready so that the reloading process would only be a few seconds.

The demon continued moving, though his large, lumbering body made stealth or quick movement nearly impossible. Still, he managed a quick enough shuffle, his speed and power gouging the streets as he passed, kicking up great sections of street. When she finally loaded again, he attempted a lurching dodge, desperately rolling, his flailing tentacles moving to cover his body.

While he rolled, he fired off another volley of darts, this one random. He could manage no more attacks, not and keep gathering the necessary energies. the demon could tell the blow was coming, and began bracing himself even as he continued to move about.

Lilia was starting to get used to this little tactic of his, and she found her shots getting closer each time. The ground shook each time he rolled to the side, making her lose her aim just a bit. She made sure to make these last shots count as she was down to her last ones. Watching him carefully, she fired off the shots once more. Immediately, she got up and retreated the other way. without a weapon, she was completely open. She'd have to stall a bit to get her weapon reloaded. She grabbed the extra ammunition, starting to load it back into the shotgun.

The latest shots tore into the demon. Tentacles and armor bits flew off of him, and he bit back howls of rage. As he'd expected, he couldn't continually dodge her attacks. He'd had to take this shot. Had to take it if he wanted to walk away the winner. And for the sake of all his fallen comrades, his friends and family who'd been slain by this woman, he wanted nothing so much as that.

But then the firings ceased, leaving the demon with just his pain. He almost laughed then. No movement, no attacks, no need to defend. In that moment, he gathered the energies he needed to prepare his neck move. His mouth opened wide, and he shouted something unintelligible, a curse of demons.

The ground around Lilia began to flare up, great gouts of flame spitting into the air. Slowly, several black beasts began dragging themselves onto the surface. Fire dripped from their mouths, hatred burned in their eyes, and they left ash in their steps: hellhounds, the dogs of demons, called by the master demon's magics.

He almost chuckled, moving slowly forward to assist his canines in bringing down this lone girl.

From what she could see, the demon didn't seem to be pursuing her. Perhaps he had no knowledge of her armaments and thought it would be a different tactic? It couldn't be that simple. Because of that, she was able to do this with relevant ease. She even knelt down to make it a bit easier. It took no less than a minute to reload the shotgun and she stood up again to aim. However, she had not noticed him gathering the energy. She heard him cry out something, but it was not in a language she recognized. "Demon tongue?" she thought. No matter. she'd get him in the middle of his chanting.

Before she could fire off the attack, a wall of flames suddenly gathered around her, making her hesitate a bit. What in the world was this?! She felt the intense heat of the flames all around her, and she could feel a few sweat drops forming already. she had been careless, but for some reason the flames did not engulf her. It didn't appear to be an attack. Her eyes widened slightly in surprise as the massive beasts suddenly emerged from the ground, surrounding her completely. While she could perhaps guarantee a hit on one of them, that still left the others around her. She glared at the demon as he approached. If she wanted to get out of this one, she'd have to think fast.

The demon barked again, flicking his tentacles at the huntress. The hellhounds snarled and snapped, before leaping at the girl.

Wolf packs fought a certain way, each wolf darting in to nip or damage the pray, while the others circled, looking for openings. The moment they saw one, they too would leap upon the enemy, adding whatever damage they could manage to the prey. The hellhounds now mimicked this strategy, circling Lilia, darting and nipping. Unlike their more natural brethren, however, these dogs also breathed gouts of flame. Furthermore, they had a massive, intelligent demon serving as back up.

The demon waited while the dogs circles, staying just outside of their circle. Doubtless the woman could, and would, take care of a handful of them. But he'd summoned a pack, eight vicious creatures all bent on taking the same revenge as he. To add to the troubles, he sent silent commands for the beasts to force Lilia to a certain spot. Then, he lashed out with several tentacles, moving from all sides at her when she wasn't looking, least expecting the blow.

Even while she was surrounded by the hell hounds, the demon she had targeted was still attacking her. Seriously, she had enough on her hands as it was. She cautiously turned to face them all, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike at them. Of course, she couldn't be too hasty and fire off randomly. She was sure they'd all be at her in no time. Before she could really focus on one of them, another had suddenly come behind her to nip at her, then running back. It was very much like a wolf pack, trying to wear her down. She also had to be aware of the flames they spouted each time they came at her. She grunted softly as they would nip at her legs and back, and she was feeling the affects from their tactic already. While she was unaware, they had been moving her just as the demon had hoped. She was not expecting the attack at all. Suddenly, from all sides of her the tentacles lashed out at her, all hitting their mark. She felt them whip her arms and legs, making it harder to stay up and hold her weapon. "Tch, not going out like this. Screw it." She cocked the weapon and fired a couple shots at the two closest to the demon. Afterward, she sent another devastating shot straight at him, hoping to hit her mark.

The coordinated attacks did as they were supposed to, wearing the human girl down. The hellhounds barked with glee, more flames gouting from their mouths to ignite bits and pieces of the scenery around them. Their excitement turned into near bestial joy, thrilled at the incoming success of the hunt. Lilia manage to shoot two of them, killing one in a messy fashion and wounding the other beyond fighting condition. her last shot had apparently been aimed for the canines' master, though it wouldn't reach its mark. One of the hellhounds threw himself into the blast, and it tore his body, leaving a corpse to fly at the master demon.

The larger creature batted the poor beast aside, then fired more darts at the girl. two tentacles slammed into the earth then, beginning to burrow throughout, seeking out the trapped girl. An almost chuckle, a dark pleased noise, came from the large creature then, and it turned its eyes on the girl. Clearly the creature thought the fight was all but over.

She was very glad to have at least gotten rid of those beasts that she aimed at. And she got the one that shielded the demon as an added bonus. She would have liked it more if she had gotten her target, but things were looking a lot better for her now. Still, she had a handful of hell canines to deal with, with an even more powerful menace ahead. Even as he fired the darts at her, there was a big hole in the beasts' formation, allowing hr to get through without any problems. She took the initiative to fire at a couple more of them. She noticed him send the tentacles into the ground, and she could tell just what he was planning. She'd just have to constantly be on the move if she wanted to avoid it. She gave a little smirk as she aimed once more at him. Surely he was far too busy with the tentacles to move. Without hesitation she fired once more at him. "Die."

The hellhounds continued to dart about, encircling their prey. They were beginning to understand what part of her caused the most damage, where all the harm was coming from. Now their attacked were even more concentrated, as they leaped about, aiming ferocious bites and breaths of flame toward the shotgun, each hoping to rid the girl of her weapon. They noticed her firing this time, though one still fell beneath the blasts. Now only five circled and attacked, but these were the five most cunning, most powerful, and their flames of hell burned hot.

The demon boss saw the smirk, and knew that his plan had been figured out. He grunted as he saw her aim at him, shifting his bulk once more. This time, as she fired, his tentacles lashed out. Three long tentacles shot down, taking the bulk of the scattershot. It ripped them to shreds, even going past to tear at the armor, but it left the bulk of the demon unscathed.

As such, he could counter attack. His dart shooting tentacles split their attentions two ways, attempting to corral her into one specific spot. The hellhounds noticed as well, and made their attacks herding ones as well.

No sooner had she fired the gun had the hell hounds encircled her once more. If she was able to get rid of them or avoid them somehow, she should have been able to get at the demon with relative ease. Her legs and arms still trembled a bit from the previous attacks, and it was surprising that she still held up. She suddenly felt the shotgun jerk to the side as the hounds rammed against it, also breathing fire over it. The heat was intense, and she almost dropped it right there. Each time they came at her, she swung the shotgun around, looking to bat them back where they came from. That wouldn't be easy, as they seemed far more intelligent than the others. She had managed to get him moving again, though the needle attack had gotten her to move once again where he wanted her to. She wasn't completely aware of it though. It was then that she noticed her blade again, still caught in his side. She had a little idea in mind. She aimed her gun once again, but aimed this time for the hilt of the blade. Her plan was to dislodge it from the demon's side in this manner. She'd be sure not to miss if she wanted her blade back. She wasn't too worried about firing at it, as it was quite durable.

The hell hounds continued to bound around Lilia, continued to nip and breath their flames at her. To herd her to where their master wanted her to go. When at last she stopped there, they simply focused on keeping her in place, and on disarming her. Even the dimmest of the dogs could tell that she was about to fire again at their master, but there was nothing they could do.

The demon saw the little human aim, and he smiled. Again his body didn't move to dodge, nor did he even bother to block. Instead, he focused solely on attack. The shot rang out, and it caught the hilt of the sword. The blow tore the blade sideways, causing a great gouge in the beast's armor. Unfortunately for Lilia, it wasn't quite enough to dislodge the blade completely.

The demon took the opportunity to finish his attack. The tentacles that had been underground now shot up, wrapping around Lilia's feet and legs, pinning the girl to the spot, preventing her from moving. She must choose: to shoot to free herself, and open herself to the attack of the hellhounds, or to hope that the binding wouldn't prove the end of her.

There was always a third option: giving up.

She was glad that she had the right idea, but the shot wasn't enough to completely remove the blade from the demon. She was about to fire again when she felt the ground beneath her shake, tentacles suddenly emerging and wrapping around her legs to keep her in place. "Tch, what the hell?!" she had completely forgotten about that attack, and it cost her here. She wasn't going to accomplish much staying in place. she needed to be constantly moving around if she wanted a chance. Now she was held to the ground with the five snarling beasts surrounding her. she still had her shotgun with her though, but things weren't looking to pleasant for her. She thought of all possible ways to get out of this, not liking any situation. The beasts were sure to be on her in no time, but she didn't want to simply give in to this demon. She'd rather die. Even if she couldn't move, she had to carry out her mission, even if she were to lose her life here. She aimed once more at the demon, finding the exposed flesh. It was all or nothing here. "Bastard...die already." She then fired. She could only hope for success now. the shotgun was starting to slip from her grip.

The hellhounds bayed for joy as they realized that their target was now completely helpless. No more jumping about, and she couldn't very well shoot at their master and beat them at the same time. No, she was ripe for the taking. The beasts leaped at her, fangs gnashing, fiery spittle flying. Two aimed specifically at her shotgun, determined to disarm the girl. The remaining three danced about, attempting to inflict harm in areas that would be difficult to dodge: the thigh, her side, low on the leg, wherever their teeth could sink.

The demon saw the next coming, and knew he'd have to take it. He could continue to hold her in place, just long enough to fire a few more darts. These were different than the rest, special. Each one contained a strong does of pheromone, produced directly inside the demon. When they connected with skin, they'd release their toxic load into the girl. It was hard to fight against a chemical attack like that.

AS for the last shot, the demon screamed as it tore into him. Flesh burst away from him, and blackish blood began to leak from him. He breathe harder, his eyes narrowing in anger and pain. this bitch would be his.
