The city seemed to be in the middle of nowhere, settled at the base of the mountians, and at least ten miles away from any other signs of civilization. Despite its location, it thrived with bodies, male and female, seeking to find if there is any truth to the rumors that had been spread like wildfire. The rumors revolving around the one mansion house the city held, where it was said a vampire lived and fed off the trespassers.

On the edge of the city there was that large mansion, gated in much like the old plantation houses that used to cover the countryside. It was two floors tall, six rooms wide one would guess by the number of windows, a grand staircase led to the large, oak double doors that allowed enterance. It seemed abandoned, but well kept, the flowers and gardens thriving in the moonlight. Not a single light inside the house was lit and it seemed quiet enough, yet when any person dared to trespress, hardly was it that they ever returned. Something was amiss with this mansion and the scared towns people had made up a rumor about a bloodsucking vampire to help aim their fears somewhere tangible.

This night was not unlike any of the others, the house quiet and not lit with any other light save the moon beams that spilled down from the full moon. The half mile dirt road that led to the gated enterance was quiet and abandoned, though the city not too far away bustled with the normal nighttime activities; dinner, movies, and the like. Not a soul paid mind to the mansion and made sure to stray away from the dirt road, not even wanting to chance a glimpse at the tree enclosed 'house of no return'.

John Taylor couldn't believe he was doing this. This stupid dare had been handed down last night, by his buddies, and it was slowly looking to be a bad idea. The house was, of course, as foreboding and grim as usual. He was standing outside the gates, trying to decide to himself how he should get in.

It turned out to be an easy choice. After an hour of searching, he had found the spot in the wall where he could scale. He scaled the wall slowly, carefully, mounting the wall and then climbing down on the other side. He felt his body shiver with anticipation. His mind whispered that he should get out of here, but his sense of bravado won out. If he didn't do this, he'd be a laughing stock.

As per the conditions of his challenge, he stealthily made his way up to the front steps. He couldn't help but marvel at the house, finding it to be rather astounding, something out of a book almost. He trudged up the steps, slowly reaching the door. He opened it, proving it was unlocked. He stole his way inside, whispering. "Wow."

Maeve felt the intrusion into her home before she heard it, the human male having alerted her by stepping through the gates and her barrier to keep out others of her kind. Not too effect on humans, though, not that she wanted it to be; the ones who were brave enough to venture into her home provided her with fresh blood, which she always appreciated. Meave tucked a strand of her long red hair behind an ear and left her room to start her way down the upstairs hall. Her red corset was tight on her waist, and pushing up her ample, pale breasts, the long black skirt swaying around her long, shapely legs. Her feet were bare, so she was as silent as silence itself; the human wouldn't be able to hear her coming, no matter how acute his hearing or awareness.

Maeve stopped at the top of the grand staircase, the balcony on top of the two adjoining staircases, one came from the left and one from the right. The main hall was as grand as any mansion plantation house. Her icy blue eyes bore down upon the male standing within her house and the stirrings of anger began deep in her gut. The townspeople here had a good idea that something was amiss on the plantation, and thus the rumors they spread always caused her problems. Attracting attention to her meager life, well, as meager as a vampire could be, considering they sucked blood to stay alive. Being a vampire couldn't really be a meager lifestyle, but despite that, her's was as meager as it could get. For a vampire, she stayed mostly to herself, unlike her brethern.

Maeve cocked her head and let an evil little smirk cross her lips before she addressed the intruder. "Excuse me, dear," she started as she began to descend the staircase, her hand sliding along the banister as she moved down the steps. "What excuse do you have for trespassing into my home?"

John nearly jumped out of his skin upon seeing the woman. Were the rumors really right? Did some sort of monster live here? He furrowed his brow, observing her. No, she was a woman, he realized, but a terrifying one at that. He started to back away towards the door.

"Listen," He started. "Um...this was just a dumb bet. I didn't mean to cause any foul or anything. Listen, I'll go right now." John wished he'd brought something-a knife, or anything to defend himself. This chick was really creeping him out.
