Fuck, fuck, fuck!
Needless to say, the other manager was running just a tad late.
Fucking alarm clock! Of all the days .. urgh!
With having been a former right-hand woman to a mafia boss and - perhaps worse for the woman - a former disciplinary committee president, Adelheid had a really high work ethic. She expected much of all the workers but more than that, herself. And when it came down to just the young woman, she was ... more strict upon her own self than most of the other employees.
Not to say she couldn't turn on her 'bitch switch' when necessary. Oh no, quite the opposite. She had no qualms with doing so. Thankfully, it was only used when absolutely needed. So no one was in any real danger ... as long as no one tried to piss her off.
As Adelheid reached the doors, she pushed them deftly but carefully open. Heavy and swift pants were leaving her lips. After a quick look around, however, a soft sigh of relief left. She had beaten, given the lack of screams and Prinnies, the owner. Thank gods for that much.
She would never admit it aloud but the owner actually did make the manager ... on edge. Not quite scared, no. Not even with Etna being a demoness. But it was difficult to have anyone make her feel intimidated. Even Hibari Kyoya never accomplished that. No, the two were rivals at worst.
The memory of said male made her blood boil for a few moments ... before she calmed herself and began guiding herself into her own office.
No sense in thinking on him. I doubt he'll show up anyways ...
And honestly, even if he did, he was as much of a rule enforcer as herself. She'd at least trust him to be smart enough to avoid pissing her off to prevent any fights. It'd work out .. somehow.
As Adelheid clocked herself in, she headed to her own office and began going through the papers, sorting them out. Most were sales numbers for the cafe. They'd never once seemed as if the place would struggle or lose too much money. But hey, it couldn't kill her to check.
Another weary sigh left her lips as the manager's head fell against the back of her chair. Yes, the job had
tons of stress. But she had no regrets taking the position up. All of these people had needed some leaders. And she was used to being in such positions. So it seemed fitting that she wound up being one of the managers.
The vortex which had appeared and let her move to this world was... unique. Adelheid hadn't expected it to show up, let alone thought she would go through. And as much as she did miss Enma ... something told her this may be for the best. After all,
he was boss. He would need to learn to do a few things without him.
There was always that twinge of guilt that struck her every now and again, simply because she had still been his guardian and couldn't help but feel as if she'd failed him.
Still, her head shook.
Past is past. He's smart. He'll find it and go through if he so desires.
Her eyes, which had closed subconsciously during her thoughts, slowly began to open once again. Her gaze went down to her desk as she began gathering the rest of the papers and carefully reading them all. It wasn't her only duty. Fuck no. But until customers actually came in, this was her primary task. And she'd achieve it to the best of her abilities, damnit.
