The year is 2271 and Earth is at war with a race of brutal alien beings known as the Cruzan. The Cruzan Empire is vast. They control many planets, but have failed in conquering Earth. The war started 5 years ago when the first earth ship encountered a Cruzan warship. The Earth ship though fast was badly out gunned. During the early part of the war it seemed that the earth ships were no match for the Cruzan fleet, but humans are a resourceful race. They formed alliances with other races who themselves were in fear of losing their planets to the Cruzan.
Through these alliances earth was able to get the technology they needed to build more powerful ships. By the second year of the war the new earth fleet launched......Battleships......Carriers......Heavy Cruisers.....Destroyers and Escort ships all with new weapons & shields. Now earth could take the fight too their enemy. The earth fleet joined with other ships from their alliance to battle the powerful Cruzan fleet.
Until Earth joined forces with other free worlds the Cruzan seemed unstoppable, after that the line was drawn against the Cruzan and they were stopped, but the war didn't end there. The Earth Alliance continued the war trying to free planets taken by the Cruzan and to push them back to where they first started. After the new Earth fleet took flight, they began building bases. Some where on planets while others were built in space. One of these which is built in space is the Earth Fleet Station Victory which is near the star system 61 Cygni. Victory Station severed as a base for the 4th fleet, which had just returned after a very bloody battle at the Cancri star system. One of the ships that took part in the battle was the USS Centaur, a Heavy Cruiser of the Lakota class which is armed with space torpedoes which fire 6 forward & 4 aft...... 20 port & starboard particle beam guns....10 on each side.....20 rapid fire pulse weapons used for small space craft ( fighters ) and two forward firing Ion cannons....with one aft.
The Centaur is under the command of Captain Kyle West. He commands a crew of over 500 hundred on board. West, a handsome man standing 6 foot 2 inches with jet back hair became Captain 2 years ago. He was 27 at the time. The ship suffered moderate damage during the battle which was already being repaired before the ship reached the station. It was during this down time that Captain West learned what his next mission was. A scout ship disappeared while investigating a planet in the Epsilon Eridani system. Little was known of this planet other then it was called a forbidden world by other races. The only planet in the system with life was the 4th planet.This is where Captain West and his crew will go in search of the missing ship. Once repairs were complete the Centaur set out for this unknown world. The ship left the station, moving away at impulse speed then once clear they jumped into hyper space using their hyper drive engines.
