I'm just feeling curious is all. I'd also like to find out why you prefer one over the other. I personally enjoy both, depending on my mood, but I'm interested to see how many others are or aren't like me.
 
If it comes down to video, then live porn is usually better. Too much hentai has shitty animation, and there's just too many repeated frames for me to get into it. Real porn captures motion that hentai animation just doesn't capture for me. More moves in a realistic and appealing fashion than hentai will probably ever capture. Visually, what is caught on camera conveys more information to me than the animation in hentai does. I'm sure there are probably some exceptions, but this is generally what I notice.

In still images, I always prefer hentai over images of actual people. It's more interesting and dynamic. I feel that hentai captures a moment better than a photograph can. The hentai is drawn from a prospective that is... outside of where most photographs are normally taken. The information I receive from the illustration is far more abundant than the photograph, and often more dynamic. An artist can draw anything to make the picture more sexualized. A photographer can only do so much, and this is far more apparent in a still image compared to video.
 
Comes down to a mood and situation thing for me. I usually prefer Live Action, but there are certainly moments that hentai has it's place.

I do have issue with a lot of Hentai in the way the women tend ot be drawn. Each time I see the insanely over-endowed woman, I roll my eyes and shut off the video. Interest becomes exactly zero at that point.

But then, Hentai does have that nice detail about not having to follow all the rules of reality, so we get scenes with elves and other things that I can find appealing.

So really, each have their place!
 
Static images? Eh, likely hentai. I dunno what it is about static porn that I don't like, it's just rare for me to really get off to it with the way the stars often look so exaggerated in everything they do. Plus hentai, as its drawn, can draw out even your most outlandish fetishes, the kind live action stuff could never do.

In motion though, live action is best. As was said above, most animated hentai is extraordinarily cheap. As a result it's harder to really get into it in any way.

I like both though I do lean a bit more towards hentai. Sometimes in live action, the people do way too much talking as opposed to acting. And at times, that can be rather annoying to say the least. But both definitely have their good and bad things to each.
 
I voted for hentai. Hentai animations, when done correctly, can be brilliant. And, it can be anyone to your dire needs, batman fucking harley quin for example.

With the amount of brilliant CGI nower-days there will, in time, be very good hentai.

Think of how THE HULK has changed in the years due to CGI...

I, myself am training myself up to be a decant enough hentai artist and earn some cash!
You can draw anyone you like..how ever you like. Want a particular body part changed? NO PROBLEM! :D

But I like dojin a lot. Some drawn hentai is also completely valid artistically. Got in a major disagreement with an ex-girlfriend because I follow shadbase.com and oglaf.com because, despite the fact that they draw porn, dickgirls, beastiality, and worse, they're actually pretty good artists and I like their fucked-up humor.

Oh god Shadbase is probably one of the worst Poster-boys for how fucked up Rule34 can get.

In all honesty I like animated hentai but I too notice the lack of attention and repeated frames in some, it really does take me out sometimes. Though there are some recent ones that I always come back to because they're always well done. Milky produces some fine stuff always. Kuroinu is probably the best I've seen in ages, and Sexy Magical Girl, despite its uncreative title had one of the best story arcs I've seen in erotica for a while. (I don't read erotica much so that;s probably why)

Porn though when referring to the live action sense, it usually falls under a specific type of person, whether a punk, black, Asian, milf etc. Those are somewhat rarer in Hentai and are a unique kink in some cases.

Both live porn and hentai are fantastic. It all boils down to the actors/actresses and the graphic artists who do all of the work. There are a few artists who I prefer to real porn, but there's only two or three of them. Even then, there are a number of actresses who cannot be topped in my opinion.​

I like live action porn, hentai is just too much, I like things more realistic, size h breasts unaffected by gravity and buckets of partially cooked egg whites does nothing for me. As far as pictures I am fifty fifty, just like in porn I am very picky, I don't like just anything.

I think I may have to agree with what she just said. I do not enjoy hentai other than pictures, but again...I am picky when it comes to porn.
 
It really depends, because if both are done well, they both can be enjoyable and arousing. And both do have their advantages, hentai can make beautiful girls, large breasts, and makes usually some of the more disgusting kinks(in my mind) like anal fisting seem not so disturbing(at least in my mind), because it's drawn and animated, but live action has that realism to it, and while they all not might have the qualities as the hentai girls, realism makes things seem more enjoyable for me.

Hentai also has that ability to make fictional fandom characters engaging in sex seem more real and enjoyable to watch, as when I watch real action fandom pairings, I just think fetish cosplay.

But yeah, both have their ups and downs, but in my mind, real action is the one I watch the most of, and I think it's better, but hey, I just watch softcore lesbian vids on xHamster(I am also very picky), so what do I know?
