The wait was long, what had it been now... how long had he awaited in exile for a moment like this to come, eight or was it ten years now? By the gods it had been just past a decade since he had heard anything from his family, the royalty of his homeland. Yet, Kailen wondered... "Why now... why do they come to me now?" He spoke softly as his hand scratched the black scruff of his chin.

He had been informed 3 days past that someone representing the royal family of his youth was on their way to meet with him, but why? Kailen was no fool, he knew that his home land was in dire need for some time now. "Heh so the arrogance of my father and his cowardly lot have finally met a foe they could not buy... or perhaps..." His voice trailed off in the cool gloomy hall, his dark green eyes searching, glancing about his fellow warlords as if they might speak up and give him a glimmer of what was happening.

The bells rang loudly, announcing his guest of his homeland had arrived and Kailen stood slowly, his body hidden beneath armor and warm furred pelts that fought away the frigid winter cold that penetrated even these depths of his strong hold. His fellow warlords stood as well, the wild savage looking lot of murderous cut-throats and bandits... all mercenaries that flew his banner, the Banner of the Winter Wolf. All loyal to him, for he brought them victory and coin like no other had before him.

Kailen looked to the left of him and smirked as the lovely savage northern whores laid about, his concubines, well dressed for the occasion though he thought their current attire a bit lacking for the weather. He shrugged while his grin widened, he cared little, only that they played their part as always. He looked to his right and nodded to his body guards whom quickly took position, nodding to each other and those dressed as servants, ready to defend him should his family had decided their usurping son finally needed to be put down.

No... He doubted that, his family, the royal house of his homeland was in too dire of a situation to desire him dead, or so he had heard, mere rumors but then again that was all he had to go off of. Kailen smirked, his tall broad frame puffing up as he fought off the childish laughter that he was well known for... better safe than sorry, his father was a spite filled old fuck and he wasnโ€™t about to start taking risks now. He looked about the wooden and stone structure, all was as in order as could be. The old rebuilt fort of his sat along the bitter cold shores of the largest river in the area that lay not far from the sea line of the far north, almost as far as the world permitted man to live. Finally decorated with the wealth he had acquired over a decade of raiding and pillaging, of killing and taking... of sell-swording for whoever would hire him.

"M'Lord... your guests have been standing in the cold for..."

"Yes yes far too long now..." Kailen spoke quickly, finishing the old warlords sentence before continuing, "Show out guests in and let them enjoy the warmth of my fire..." He spoke loudly as he watched the sentries leave... Standing proudly with his hall full of his finest he awaited patiently to see who from his homeland had been sent to speak with him...

The Princess, from the Royal family, has been standing outside in the cold condition ever since she had arrived. She could feel the cold temperature brushing against the warmth of he body as it blew against her fingertips, down to her toes, causing them shiver from the cool breeze. The Princess though wasn't really expecting for this type weather ever since she left the royal kingdom of her fathers and went to where she was assigned to go. Ever since her parents had been struck by hard times from many wars, though this was nothing new for the kingdom their coin was slowly being bled dry by the savage hoard that now slowly raided and stole away everything in its path. The King and Queen needed needed coin, fresh soldiers and ships so they could take the fight to their enemy; but things wasn't going to well as a plan they thought it would be.

Since the day the King had problem with devil himself, known as the princess' brother, the princess watched her brother as he walked right out the kingdom without informing him a last ever good bye. Though she had a feeling she would see him again, one day. But with months turning into years, the King knew he had to something that needed to be rightful, and needed to be done with. With that he sends his daughter, his only daughter, to the kingdom she needed to go, and sends her to her disowned brother's that who lived across the seas. And in case you haven't notice they weren't no planes back than. Just ships that felt like a year long traveling. Though, luckily, the trip wasn't that long. And with that being in matter, the princess eventually goes.

Even though it was surprising for the princess, who was able to visit her brother once again, she still had feeling for him and always wondered if he remembers her - since it been so long. The trip however wasn't so bad that Fabiola thought it would be. With the wind at a certain point and blowing at a steady pace, blowing a couple of cool breeze, it was probably a good day to go shipping. The wind blowing against her hair made her felt alive then; until she had to go inside ship when the winds was beginning to pick up. So, in her spare time, she decided to rest and stay warm until end of trip, which to wasn't until the next morning.

The next morning, when they reached, a couple of servants was able to assist the princess while traveled. They managed to fix her breakfast, prepare her food and clothes, and even clean her up before she could ever head outside. And once shew was finished, she headed for the outside...which came the unexpected part of the journey. Freezing temperature The Princess's body shivered from freezing winds as it hit onto her warm body.

Now standing outside the royal castle, which she assumed this was her brother's, she waited then. As freezing breeze blew against the warmth of her body, a shiver soon ran down her spine as her teeth chattered. Her whole body ached from the coldness as she stood outside, which felt like hours. Minutes to "hours". Fabiola hated waiting. Her clear blonde hair blew with the cool winds, and her hands buried inside the sleeves of her dress as they curled up for warmth.

Finally, once the wait was finally over and Fabiola was able to proceed inside she then went inside, where it was more warm. Her body soon warmed up when she was finally in.

"Good morning your Princess" One of the men greeted her from the castle, with a smile. "I'm guessing you're here to speak with the King, and I can assure you he's quiet ready for your presence" And began to lead the way to the throne room, making sure the Princess was following him.

Before Fabiola followed the men, who greeted her, she gave him a small shook of the head and followed him as that. Her eyes motioning around the large palace as she quietly followed. And they couldn't believe what they saw; however she was a little bit scared at the same time.
