Ren was lucky in a way, it could be said. He'd grown up in one of those relatively rare places where furs were freely accepted alongside humans, and in part thanks to that he'd managed to earn himself a fair position as a knight. All in all, it wasn't a bad life by any means, up to the point of the recent events surrounding the Princess. He didn't care for her new betrothed, honestly, nor the land he came from, but... politics was politics, he supposed. At the very least, he could try and make the best of it considering he was the one chosen to stay with her, an already proven reliable knight. Perhaps it might have been a little better if he'd met the Princess before, but at least he knew her father well enough by now...

Ah well, such was how things went. For now he could merely wait by the carriage that had been set up for them, abandoning armor despite the fact that he was a knight; it just wasn't something that particularly suited him, save the light chain mail beneath his clothing. Hopefully everything went well enough, but that was what he was there for, wasn't it? So he just waited for now, a friendly grin on his face as his eyes turned to where the King, a few guards, and he could only assume the Princess herself came out.

Tears flowed down the pale, freckled, cheeks of the kings middle child and only daughters face. Reia, had just turned twenty and per the tready with the kingdom of Frausttyd, she was to wed their eldest prince. From what she had heard of him, he was a cruel young man, much like his father, who hungered for war and blood. She did not want to marry him, but it was up to her to keep peace between the kingdoms.

"Don't ya go cryin' now Princess, you look beautiful, you will make a beautiful bride" Reia's hand maiden said with a smile as she wiped the tears away with a delicate hankerchief. Taking a deep breath, Reia looked at her reflection in the long mirror that stood in front of her.

She did look beautiful, aside from the puffy eyes, her dark brown hair curled and pulled half up out of her face, a few strands fell around her face. A large brimmed sun hat, sat gently on the top of her head, it's color matching her dress. Her frame was a little bigger then other noble woman her age, but she held it well, and her dress complimented her curvy figure. Her dress was the most delicate sky blue, matching her eyes, it was soft with lace trim. The top complimented her round bust, the skirt flaring just under.

Giving her reflection a soft smile she smoothed the skirt of her dress, then turned grabbing her small coin purse and parasol. Meeting her father and brothers in the front hall of the castle, her father embarrassing her as a tear fell from his eye, "you look just like your mother," he smiled standing back, admiring her. Giving her eldest brother a quick hug he told her to be brave and her youngest brother teased her about looking so girly.

As the large front doors opened wide, Reia stared down at her convoy of carriages, the one she would be riding in sat at the front. Painted white with good trim, fit for a princess, not her. She didn't, at that moment feel like a princess, she felt like a slave being sold to the highest bidder. Lifting her head in the air she walked down the steps, her family standing on the top landing watching her leave. As she reached her carriage she gave the only person from the kingdom who would be with her from now on, a fur knight her father had assinged to protect her, a weak smile then climbed up into the cab.

Beautiful as he'd heard, it could well be said, but it wasn't like he could be particularly surprised. After all, wasn't it practically a common theme for Princesses to be beautiful? At least, if word was to be believed, and... well, who knew there. Any place would talk up their own nobility, as a point Ren had considered before, but this time at least such talk seemed fairly accurate. Not that it tended to matter for someone like him, who was often enough considered attractive on his own rights in part thanks to his golden eyes and otherwise the soft fur and reasonably strong figure, he could only assume. After all, he was a fur and she a human; sure, furs were well accepted in the kingdom, but they and humans still didn't mix that way.

Whatever the case, he gave the Princess a light bow when she came up, noting that, for the moment, actual introductions seemed to be abandoned. Ah well.

"You know me; even if something does manage to happen, I'll take care of it before it gets too far," he calmly assured before anyone could say much. Giving a little nod to the driver to signal they were effectively ready to leave, he got up and into the carriage himself per earlier instructions, setting himself across from the Princess as only seemed proper.

"Shall I guess you're not much looking forward to where you're going?" he conversationally asked, giving a small smile of his own as the carriage started moving and his eyes fell on the Princess. "Ren Olvry, by the way; anything you ever need, feel free to ask me first. I may be a guy and a knight, but I'm still reasonably good at even cooking and cleaning if you ever need me to do those," he offered, chuckling lightly.
