Mya over looked the club from her slight vantage point at the bar. The club was teeming with a broad variety of people. Young people moved on the dance floor, their heads moved in beat to the music. Several groups clustered around the tables that outlined the club. Some spoke quietly while others were loud and made open comments about those around them.

Sat on the high stool, she was few who could see most of the people in the club. Her friends had been approached by their boyfriends and were currently taunting them with subtle touches they called dancing. A broad smile formed on her lips at the sight, sounds and the smell of the club. It would be her last night of fun for a long while. Her friends and co workers had surprised her with this last minute announced night out. It had been her last day at James, Wilson and Grith Solicitors. After five years of working there she had finally found the courage to move a little higher up the ladder. Yet this is what she would miss. The change of work had involved a move of ten miles as well. Not much by the imagination but more than enough it would likely put a pause to her normal social life.

Yet such thoughts were for the following days and weeks. Tonight was for fun and nothing else. She stepped down from the stool and waved her hand to the bar man to order her next drink, a simple tequila. She stood at full height of five foot five even but in her heels she gained another three inches. She wore a short black dress that came to just above her knees, the dress only had simple straps over the curve of her shoulders. A simple and fake pearl necklace was around her long neck and a silver watch around her wrist. She had chocolate brown hair that fell straight just to her shoulders where it curled in at the bottom. Her eyes were the color of raw cocoa.

With a grin she pushed her money over to the barman as he placed her drink before her and gave her a playful wink which she returned in kind. She took in a deep breath and turned around to lean against the bar. She lifted the glass up and took a small sip of the strong drink. Her eyes scanned the club once more for any suitable elements of fun.

One of the reasons Jon was so successful, was because he was incredibly good at reading people. It was a gift. A gift that he utilised to great effect, to get him what he wanted in any part of his life. He had realised early on that the better you understood people, the better you could influence and manipulate them. Or at least, ensure that you were surrounded by the right people.
He loved watching people, taking in their mannerisms, their body language and instantly knowing more about themselves than they did themselves. That evening, he stood by the bar, talking to one of the barmaids, ensuring that most of his drinks were free. But his conversation with her was interrupted as he noticed a young lady further down the bar.

She was attractive, but that wasn't what caught his attention and distracted his thoughts. He recognised her. Not just from seeing her at the club either. He had seen her in business attire. He close his eyes for a moment and tried to imagine her in business attire and place her. It came to him quickly enough. He had noticed her when he had first seen her. He smiled to himself as he realised where he placed her. She had been present at an interview one of his staff were running. Her obvious ambition and excitement at seeing the new surroundings grabbing his attention. Now he looked her up and down, reading her body language as the thought of understanding a future employee excited him.
Her attire made it obvious that she took pride in her appearance, that she enjoyed looking good. To an extent, he thought, she enjoyed knowing that others liked how she looked. Possibly even some of the attention she got from it. Always a good thing he thought to himself. But her body language, coupled with what he already knew about her employment suggested more. She was almost celebrating, saying goodbye to an old life and high on the possibilities of the new life. Furthermore, her friends were with guys and she was alone. Though from the way she spoke with the barman he suspected that was not entirely down to her own choice.

He said goodbye to the barmaid, leaving her with a parting word of advice regarding her 'problem' she had been telling him about. He stood and slowly walked towards his new target. Approaching her from the side he smiled kindly and said
"I bet you I can tell you three things about yourself that nobody could know unless they knew you." As she turned to look at him he added "If I'm right, I get to buy you a drink. If you can look me in the eyes and tell me I'm wrong, then I'll leave you alone". His face was handsome and charming, lit with an air of easy confidence

Mya's gaze instantly turned to the voice that was directed at her. The man was not one she had seen before she was certain. Her attention moved from the top of his head , down along his form to his shoes and back up again until her gaze locked with his own once more. "Three things? She tilted her head to the side slightly as she appraised him once more carefully and attempted to work out whether he was a type well dressed street performer or charlatan yet his offer was one that she could neither win or lose. Yet she decided perhaps she could gain a little more or at least find out a little more about him. "How about if you get all three correct I buy you a drink and should you not get any right you buy me two drinks. Does that change suit you Mister..?" She waited for him to fill in the name himself as she let the sentence hang.

She had not seen him at the interview and was completely unaware that he had observed her during it. The woman she had been interviewed by had been pleasant, business like and warm and welcoming. Once the interview was completed they had, had a reasonable chat about the area for moving to and which places to certainly avoid. It was with that discussion she was quite certain she would get the job.

Jon's charming grin became a chuckle, enjoying the counter offer that Mya had put on the table. She was obviously not afraid of talking to strange men in bars, even those that made ludicrous claims. That was good, it meant that she was relaxed as well as pretty self assured. It also meant that she had a bit more to offer than the usual girl in the bar, who had no comebacks or way of conversing.

"I can take that offer. It's a deal". He looked at her a moment, stepping back and pretending to take her in, as if he had never seen her before. "You know, you're more difficult to read that most ladies your age" he lied, playing a game, like magician setting up his trick. "You're not quite as obvious as the others, more complex, more intelligent". He fed her these compliments, knowing that whilst she enjoyed being attractive, she wanted men to know she was no bimbo. He started umming and ahh-ing, making it seem that he was still uncertain.

"Right, you're profession. It's something that requires a lot of intelligence, plenty of studying and huge amount of dedication. Like a lawyer or a solicitor. You enjoy it, but you haven't done for a while, perhaps you've been overlooked at your workplace or underappreciated. Yet you seem relaxed, no, more than relaxed. You seem relieved and excited. You are starting a new job. Soon. Like Monday. And you are here to let off steam because you don't think you'll get much of a chance once you're started at your new job. That, and because you want to celebrate. But your friends have let you down by inviting their various other halves and now you're wondering how to make a night of it"
He spoke calmly and fluently, like a TV detective explaining how he solved the crime. All the while looking into her eyes, reading her reactions

She dropped and rose her head rapidly at his retort at accepting the deal. She watched him as he took a step back and seemed to pretend that he was examining her closely as if she was wearing her history on her skin in invisible ink. She lifted her glass up and took a small sip as she waited for him to try and speaks of the three elements that spoke of herself.

As he began to speak she smirked and it continued to grow as the compliments seemed to continue she shook her head faintly as she placed her glass on the bar and waited for him to finish. She managed to mask any nervousness that formed at the true facts that he should not of known of. She glanced to her friends and wondered momentarily if any one of them had actually prepped him and brought him here as a blind date but none of them were watching the pair and he seemed to be too charming and too well dressed to have been dragged into such a event.

"Well that was actually more than three points you made." She spoke softly as her gaze returned to him. "I hope you are not expecting more drinks in payment for those predictions and whether they are true or not I can not say though I am curious. You certainly can not have read all of that from simply looking at me." She moved towards him and with only a brief pause she lifted her hand up to gently and only slightly open each side of his jacket without truly looking inside but more role playing that she was. "Hmm.." She considered carefully though a smile remained on her lips and a quirk of curiosity to her eyebrows as well as humour that filled her dark eyes. "No note book and I would have to see a phone or do I have to search you?" The tone of voice kept it from being overly slutty. Her tone was slightly flirty but at the same had a touch of playfulness and edge of seriousness all combined in the few words spoken.

"Yes, you're correct. It was more like five points than three. But then I don't remember us agreeing that it was three points and only three". He smiled at her. "Besides, I thought in hindsight that three points was perhaps a little too easy. It left the possibility of it being luck far too open. So you'll need to forgive me but I decided that 5 points was far more believable. Now, I don't expect more drinks. After all, our agreement was for two. However, if for some reason you want to buy me more drinks for that, then I'm not going to stop you!" His mile grew and he winked at her.

He remained relaxed as she reached into his jacket and he laughed lightly at her offer to search him. In fact, he laughed inwardly. She was certainly intelligent but then he saw plenty of that everyday. What was different was she didn't back down as easily. Despite their intelligence, many women would have folded to his previous statements. Instead, this one had stood up for herself, comeback and even made him laugh. This game would be far more enjoyable than the others

"Darling, you can search me all you like. But I assure you, you'll find no phone, no wire. And before you ask, no, none of your friends sent me over here. None of them have so much as seen me before". All the while he maintained eye contact with her, his own eyes looking happy, relaxed, even kind. The same way they would if he already knew each and every possible outcome, or at least the one that mattered

"Yet some how you know all that about me and for some reason selected me out of all of the women in here to approach with your talent?" She asked the question with a warm tone to her voice as she indicated with her hand at the same time for the barman to get what ever the man was drinking and she would be paying the tab. "Two drinks it is then. Anything that you like in particular or are you a plain drink kind of person?"

Her gaze moved along his form in curiosity and assessment. No she did not imagine him to simple drink a lager or beer nor did he come across as a guy that enjoyed feminine drinks either. "I think I shall spare you the embarrassment of being searched in case any of the people here start to believe I am a plains clothes officer and you are in trouble from seeing me do so. Though that does make me wonder if you do so to simply enjoy the sensation of being searched?"

She raised a eyebrow as a almost shy , coy but still playful smile touched her lips before she took another sip of her drink. "Do I get to know any details about you or do I have to hazard a guess before you igve any information willingly?"
