It was the so-called 5th Era, Year 2, with the 5th Era having been declared by the Dragonborn after his discovery of the Jagged Crown in an ancient frozen ruin in the central mountains of Skyrim. With Nordic and Elvish blood in his veins, he laid claim to not only the birthright to the throne of Skyrim, but with his so-called divine blood of two races, he laid claim simultaniously to the Shimmering Isle and all the lands of Men and Mer. Despite some resistance among Nords everywhere to the right of the Dragonborn to rule, due to his half-blood origins, no one Nord - or any other race, for that matter - has ever managed to best the Dragonborn in a fight, with or without magic.
Coupled with his keen wit and intelligence, along with his popularity and helpfulness to many of the holds of Skyrim, he has managed to raise a large army, and is in in command of more than a third of Skyrim's total land. His army is powerful, but small, and it is only his lack of numbers and truly skilled mages that has kept him from conquering the rest of the land. His army is made up of the down trodden, and he has give them arms to fight for a better Skyrim, free of murderers like Ulfric Stormcloak and exploitation from the Empire who enforced the banning of Talos from their religion.
The Dragonborn's holdings center around a corridor of land, from Falkreath and Sky Haven Temple, to Whiterun and the plain to the west of there. He is currently skirmishing with Imperial forces to the west, however his primary target is to expand southeast, and then to take Windhelm from Ulfric, and then turn west upon the Empire.
