Rene rubbed his chin as he looked at his bag, he was packed to go to college, a speciall college that he had been accepted into. He wasn't that sure abou it, he heard it was a school that allowed monster girls and trained fighting and had all sorts of things which went down there. He was rather excited at the possiblities of what could happen. He knew that it would be full of challenges, and that was something that almost caused his blood to boil with sheer energy and excitement by itself. His green eyes scanned the landscape finding it rather tropical, which was a nice change of pace.

As the train stopped, Rene got off and headed to the main office where he got his appartment number, and headed that direction. He walked past a lot of monster girls on his way, and wondered what the heck was up with that. He noticed even more as he walked into the hall and wondered if he had gotten into the coed dorm or something, which wasn't any problem with him for the most part, the thought of getting caught or in trouble with some of them wasn't something he wanted to think of. He slipped into his room which was rather kind of cold, and noticed his roommate had already unpacked her things. The blonde looked and found the open bunk and put his things away.

"He wondered what type of person would keep the temperature for a room so low, but it wasn't so bad that it was uncomfortable, just kind of notable after being outside in the warm son for so long. He putt his things down and looked out the window, the school was pretty big with lots to do, classes and fighting and other things. It was going to be so much fun, he had been looking forward to this for a long time.

Kazuko Komeiji stepped carefully down the hallway leading toward her dorm room. She had already put her things away and set the room temperature according to how she liked it before heading back out for a little home-warming gift for her new roommate. As the successor of the Komeiji family, she was expected to act in a proper way, even when attending a school centered around the excitement of battle between two teams of matched opponents. Her pale blue yukata did not allow her much freedom of movement, so she shuffled a bit as she stepped down the long corridor toward her room, carrying a small paper box full of her favorite pastries from a nearby pastry shop. She hoped her new roommate wouldn't mind the temperature and liked sweets at least...

She turned the door knob and let herself in, carefully excusing herself as she stepped inside and closed the door behind her. The last person she expected to see was a young blonde male in the room and let a soft gasp escape her lips. She stood there for a few moments before recovering her composure, reminding herself that there must have been some sort of mix-up for the two of them to be put in the same room... Surely no one would intentionally put a male human in the same room as a yuki-onna, right?

Kazuko cleared her throat, "Excuse me... I am Kazuko Komeiji, pleased to make your acquaintance. I suppose there must have been some sort of mistake..." She held her right sleeve toward him, her small blue hand reaching out toward him. Even if it was a mistake, she still felt compelled to be polite and rational about the current situation rather than react harshly.

Rene looked over as he saw the monster girl what he knew was a monster girl or a Yukionna. He blinked for a moment and then looked though his things and found his paper really quickly as he walked over to her and shook her hand. It was rude to not do so, and he was also brought up in a family that stressed kindness to others and respect for other people, even those who were different from you."Well now, Kazuko is it, well my name is Rene LaPierre," he said as he then looked at the sheet he was given and looked it over a second and a third time to make sure it wasn't some mistake that had gotten him in that room.

His green eyes looked back at the woman a moment later as he paused and handed her the note, "yeah, it seem they messed me up and put me in the wrong area, or something. I am guessing they thought i was a girl or something, must of just saw Rene and were like yeah, girl," he said mocking a opperators voice at the last part as he then let out a sigh as he walked over to the phone and called the number for the office.

"One second, I have to explain this to someone, maybe I can get fixed out of here and out of your beautiful hair in a moment or two," he said idly as he waited on the phone and then spend the next few minutes talking to people without any luck, that even if he was in the wrong dorm, all the male dorms were filled up and he either could adapt or leave the school. He put down the phone and looked at Kazuko, "seems, they have no other place, sorry about this but it seems were roomies"

He could understand the reasoning that the Yukionna would have to dislike this arrangement, but he wanted to remain in school, and if he had to have a woman as a roommate and live in a woman's dorm, then that would be what he did to get by. There was no other way, so that would be the thing he did. He just wasn't sure how it would work, and he hoped he and Kazuko would be able to find some way to get along.

"Don't worry," Kazuko set down her box of pastries beside her after sitting on one of the beds, her left hand resting comfortably on her lap, "I'm sure we will work it out... Here, have a fresh baked cream puff. Its a homewarming gift for you as my new roommate."

She opened the box and let Rene see inside as she continues, "I... I really don't mind sharing with you, you know. It must be an uncomfortable situation for you to be in, though... And I don't mean just the temperature." She brought her legs close together, a bit tense.

"I promise to behave myself," she tried to give him a reassuring smile, but it came across as a bit sad, "I won't do anything shameful like rape you in your sleep... We are here to build up positive relationships, after all, and the last thing we need is an even more negative image than we already have."

Kazuko then reached into the box herself and took out one of the cream puffs, biting into the edge and enjoying the soft, gentle flavor as it filled her mouth. It worked to help dispel the serious tone that had settled in the air, especially since she really seemed to brighten up with a single bite.

"Here, try one... They are quite good, I assure you."

He reached in and took on one of the sweets and looked at it before taking a bite and then tilting his head just a bit as he thought about the qualities of the sweet, and nodded, "yes, it is rather good, very very good actually, sweet but not overally sweet, and tangy a bit too, which adds flavor," he said wit ha nod of his head in agreement with himself before he quickly finished the sweet of, and smiled as he thought about the statements of the young woman and shook his head.

"I hadn't actually thought about the idea you might rape me in my sleep, or anything, that isn't what makes this rather odd to be here, actually I thought you would be more afraid of me being overcome by your beauty and raping you, which won't happen," he said with a smile, a friendly smile that wasn't overally serious either, "What makes it odd, is sharing a room with a female, I mean I would never though I would end up shairing a room with a female here, it just that that is odd, and would be odd if you were monster girl or just normal human female, either way, take a guy add a hot looking female into the room, it is going to get awkward, there are no if ands or buts to that," he said as he sat on his own bed.

"We just have to figure a way to make sure the least chance of you walking in on me naked, or me walking in on you naked would happen. I figured you would be able to take showers at night and me in the morning or something, or vise versa mattering on when more people take less and more people take more showers and all," he said leaning against his hands on the bed. "So, as I said I am Rene, I come from a small village that is a good ways away from here, and I do like to fight myself, I am guessing you come from someplace cold and like snowmen right," he said with a smile on his face that was more jovial in nature.

"I'm surprised you see me as a woman, even," Kazuko's lips curve into a gentle smile, "Most humans consider us creatures to be feared and despised more than objects of beauty to lust after. I know its ironic for me to say so, but you certainly seem to have odd tastes if you find my beauty appealing." When he suggested that they stagger their showering times, Kazuko simply nodded, "I don't need much sleep, so I can take a shower during the night if you wish. The water is a bit cooler and more refreshing at night anyway, so it works out for me, too. In order to avoid any other unintentional mishaps, we could simply agree to only change clothes in the bathroom, and never enter without knocking first."

"See? No problem at all," the yukionna gave him another charming smile as she proceeded to offer a bit of information about herself in exchange, "I am from the Komeiji family, a name we accepted from a young man who helped take us out of obscurity and isolation in the mountains into the civilized world. While I am also here to fight and win honor and respect for my family, I am mostly here for public relation purposes, as my family wishes to integrate more fully into the human world. Naturally, the best way to go about that would be to allow a single representative to do most of the initial legwork, so to speak. I hope me and my family can put forth a more respectable image of monster girls concerning how to behave toward humans. Although I understand the desire to raise families, it shouldn't come at the expense of our public image."

She tipped her head toward him politely, "Please take good care of me from now on, Rene."

"Yes, the idea sounds workable, we both will knock before we enter and take our clothes to the shower, I was planning to do that anyhow, given the make of the door it seemed the wise choose to not be walking down the hall without clothes on, it get at least some odd looks from some of the others," he said with a smile as he looked at her, knowing she would understand that a man walking though a female dorm nude would be something rather awkward in and of itself.

"Your reason seems interseting, a good reason, I figure," he said as he thought about it for a bit, "I just came to learn and be the best fighter and person I can be, I guess, and I figure that monster girls are just living beings not unlike humans, just different, and with different goals and aims. You also don't look that unhuman either, your skin is different but if you don't think about the different skin, then you could pass as human pretty easy actually," he said as he looked at her and smile, "anyhow, I will do my best to be the best roommate possible, I will give you this promise," he said with a grin as he reached out with his hand to shake her hand.

"Well, I guess we don't have that much to do till tomorrow, I would guess, I think the classes and all start then," he mused as he went over and looked at the list of classes to mostly double check them. "Yeah, they start tomorrow, today is just for moving in and unpack, and I am done, how about you, need any help or do you have everything you need taken care of?"

"I'm finished as well... I just stepped out into town for the cream puffs," Kazuko explained briefly after shaking his hand. Her hand felt soft and a bit cold, not an unpleasant or chilling cold that one might expect from a yukionna, but a soothing, refreshing sort of cold. She smiled, a hint of color rising to her cheeks as she considered his kind words. Clearly he was not one of the protesters, one of many who considered the mere presence of monster girls in civilized society to be a threat to the continuation of the human race. Sure, there were many shades of discrimination, but he didn't seem to think of her any differently from a normal human girl. The thought alone was as comforting as it was refreshing, since she wasn't sure if she could have been able to room with someone who considered her a mere hormone-driven sex monster.

"Since we seem to have some free time on our hands, perhaps we could use the opportunity to get to know each other a bit better," Kazuko suggested, clapping her hands together once with excitement, "Do you have any friends or family in the area? Have you met any other monster girls personally? Is there a girl back home that you like?"

She simply intended to ease up the tension slightly, since the quicker they got used to each other's presence, the easier it would be to share the room without prolonged periods of awkward silence. Perhaps the two of them could become good friends, even.

"Oh that does make some sense," he said as he wasn't sure if she got them before she came to school on the way or when really. He held her hand it was cold, but that wasn't odd to him, he smiled as he sat back down on his bed. He didn't mind her, and he figured she didn't mind him. He was glad to see that, he had heard of the protest, but he just wasn't the type of person to hate someone cause of their background. He rubbed the back of his head at her question and thought aobu it, it was a good idea to learn more about each other, at least so they could understand each other better then they did at that moment.

"I am from about a thousand miles form here," he said as he figured that would answer the first question on its own, "I grew up in a orphanage, my parents died young both of them, my mother from illness my father from wounds he got in combat, he was a warrior too, I guess I kind of want to be like him," the blonde said with a smile as he looked at Kazuko, "it is a long story, kind of boring and sad though, as life can be from time to time, the orphanage I lived in had monstergirls in it actually a few, they were always nice and kind to me, um a couple of elves, um kitsune, a slimegirl and a goblin," he said as he thought about it naming them off. "as for a girl, well nope, none, never so far have had much time for that, actually, so I haven't put any effort into getting one," he said with a slight laugh following his statement.

"I guess we are rather different from each other, in a lot of ways," he said not even refering to her being a monster girl and him being a human. "I figure differences make things more interesting, if everyone was the same, then it would be pretty damn boring, don't you agree?"

"Indeed," Kazuko nodded, a soft giggle escaping her lips, "My own history is much less interesting in comparison. I mean, I'm from a large family of Yukionna, and along with it I have obtained my current position status and wealth. It would be rather boring if everyone was prim, proper, and overly concerned with how they appear to others. Its stories like yours that remind me that there are real people out there, too, people with ordinary, everyday struggles and hardships. I can't say what its like to live that way, because I've always had a family to support me when I needed it..."

The girl leaned forward slightly and smiled, "I hope we can be good friends and roommates from now on, so feel free to talk to me if you ever feel the need. I might not have all the answers, but I'm a good listener."

She shifted herself back into a more casual position on the bed, leaning back slightly onto her hands which gave him a chance to get a better look at her yukata. It was a dark blue color, with pale white flower petals decorating the edges of the cloth while a soft pink ribbon was tied around her middle to hold the garment close to her body. Her pale eyes glistened with an other-worldly beauty, while her dark hair flowed across her shoulders and down her back in a distinctly traditional manner. Unlike what her upbringing would imply, she didn't seem too concerned with speaking in a strictly proper manner. If anything, she seemed grateful for the opportunity to speak with someone around her age.

He looked over at her and nodded his head, "I am sure that given time, we will be friends, I just meet you, and I must admit I wouldn't say you were not my friend. You are a rather interesting person, you are a female who is seems quite smart, and thoughtful, and you have pride in your self and your traditions, based on what I could figure out from your own comments a moment ago. Yeah, I don't see a single reason why the two of us can't be friend. Plus, it is good to be able to talk with you roommate cause odds are we might be seeing each other a good amount," he added wtih a smile as he looked over to her as he sat on his bed.

He left out the beautiful part, but he figured such words were not need at this moment and would only create an atmosphere that was just to awkward for their friendship to move along at any rate at all. He looked at the first book he had gotten and sighed, "man, the close combat class study book is to big, seriously I think it will be just a work out carrying this thing to class," he said letting out a chuckle as he showed her the large book that he had picked up for that class.

"So you have family siblings perhaps, I bet if you do they are younger huh?" he asked figuring that she was a least the olderst based on the fact she was the first one sent to the school from her family. "Oh, um what type of things does a Yukionna like to eat too, I figured if I brought back lunch or dinner sometime I wouldn't want to bring something offensive to you or anything."
