It was Saturday night, and Travis was driving home from his first date as a single man. Having been married for 6 years, and in a relationship with the same woman since highschool, dating wasn't exactly a natural thing for him. It was awkward and scarry, especially knowing that he had his 6 year old daughter Eva sitting at home waiting for him. Thankfully his little brother's girlfriend, Dani, had been taking care of Eva for the past 5 weeks, and things seemed to be working out very well. His daughter had taken quite well to the young woman, and Travis was very pleased to have someone he could trust helping him out during the day while he was at work. And now she was helping him out while he was out on the town.
That date on the other hand hadn't gone so well. This woman was a bit of a dead fish. Conversation was like pulling teeth. She ate only a salad, and talked about nothing but her dog sitting at home. It was painful, and quite honestly, Travis was glad to be heading home. It would be nice to get home and see a friendly face as well. He just wanted to change out of the blue button down shirt and khaki slacks that he was wearing, sit on the couch, and turn on ESPN for the night. Hopefully Eva would already be asleep since it was so late.
Quietly Travis walked through the door, unbuttoning his shirt a little bit, showing off a bit of his chest. He tried not to wake up Eva as he walked through the hallway and into the living room, seeing Dani on the couch. Walking over he plopped down next to her and shook his head. "Don't even ask. I hope you had a better night than I did." He said with a laugh. He turned his head and his green eyes caught hers for a moment. "How was Eva? I hope she didn't give you a hard time tonight." He said with a smile, already feeling better now that he was home from that god awful date.
